Lovely campgrounds! You are given everything you could need: a fire pit, a table, ample space, and bathrooms everywhere! We loved our time here and we will definitely come again. Just note that the campground doesn’t sell firewood, but there are many places to get it on the road leading up to the campsite! Beautiful lake in the camp and Kaaterskill Waterfall is 4 minutes away by car! Signs are easy to follow to get to your camp and get around. Can’t wait to come back and we are going to book earlier this time because it does seem to fill up on Saturdays!

Amazing time with friends hiking upstate! We booked a camp ground for the day to leave our stuff but will definitely be back for actual tent camping. Hikes were crowded in some spots (we did go on the weekend) but the views were amazing and everyone we passed was very kind and considerate. The trails we took the dogs on were difficult at parts - would only recommend a younger dog or one that is pretty active. The loop we did was about 2 miles and had many view “pull offs” that were stunning.

This was the popular campground that we couldn’t get our hands on for weekend booking. Ended up going with a group of others who were able to get this for Saturday until Monday. Camping experience is what you make of it, so I had fun and a relaxing day with my friends, hanging out and hiking.

A couple things to note.
#1 this camping REQUIRES at least 2days if booking.
#2 if you’re interested, the weekends run out extremely fast. Make sure you schedule day one of booking opening, may 18.
#3 depending on the location, sites are of different sizes and privacy level. Some may be more secluded others more closer to the adjacent site.
#4 trail around the lake is a must . Very beautiful scenery along the trail. And you get different angles of the lake both north and south.
#5 for those interest in kayak, make sure to confirm a few days before arrival if it is available, we went and it was closed. (This is for those who do not have their own kayak)
#6 kid friendly, pet friendly, also bear friendly 🐻so make sure to NOT leave your food outside. They get hungry and are out wandering these days.

Camp sites are clean and perfect for the weekend. There's an overview and a lake that allows fishing, swimming, and boating. Fire wood is sold just before you enter the park on roadside homes. I had a great time!

We stayed at loop 7 which was little further away from the lake but it was quiet with restroom (hot water). The campground itself is good and the ranger frequently drive by which is good in case there are campers who doesn’t follow the quiet hours.

A lot of places to hike and watching sunset on the lake was one of the highlight.

Really nice and clean camp sites. The facilities were just fine for campground bathrooms (stocked and clean). Seems like some reviews compare campground bathrooms to ones at a hotel - a little silly.

The lake and surrounding area is great. You have access to trails, and affordable boat/kayak/etc rentals. We took some kayaks around and saw all sorts of wildlife.

I had good interactions with the staff, who answered all of my questions, and were polite and helpful.

We arrived during their stated hours and were checked in without a problem.

Overall, a credit to New York State!

Absolutely beautiful campground. We arrived late Friday on Oct 20 and the fog was so thick we were unable to see past 10ft the closer we got to the lake. On the campground we were able to setup and wake up to the most beautiful fall foliage and stream. It was a magical experience.

Beautiful state park with nice hiking trails. You can enjoy a bath after your hikes are simply take a kayak and explore the lake. There are also plenty of locations to eat and to prepare a barbecue. The facilities are clean. It is a very nice place, highly recommended.

Wonderful campground in the Catskill Mountains about an hour drive from Albany. Beautiful scenery, both of the water and from the overlooks. The facilities were clean, shops nearby where you can purchase camping supplies. The trails are maintained well but don't lose the natural feel, same with the campsites.

This is a nice campground. The cities are too close to each other though.

This is a very well run camp ground. Lots of hiking trails, especially the Kaaterskill Falls hike is adventurous and enjoyable. Well maintained amenities, like the bathrooms and showers. Many choices of good sites with picnic table and camping stove to burn wood.

Nature at it’s best. Beautiful view. Clean fresh air. Fishing, kayaking, camping, a little beach, bike riding, hiking. You can pay for a one day pass for the park or go camping. Only problem is the restrooms needs more cleaning or properly more restrooms.

A long overdue review from me? Yes!

We stayed at North-South two years ago, and it was wonderful. I love having hiking trails right on the campground itself, and who doesn't love a beautiful lake, right next to their tent? Gorgeous.

The staff was far above average. A woman named Beverly kept the restrooms and showers in PRISTINE condition. She also gave us a tip on how to walk to 'Alligator Rock', and stopped to chat with us for a while. She was a real delight!

Go here. You'll enjoy the beauty of the Catskills, and you'll be in great hands with this campground.

Had a great time. Campground was clean and safe. Staff were present. Facilities were clean and cared for often. Sites were big enough and clean. We'll be back. Storms moved in but we were prepared.

I have been coming here for years. First as a teenager with friends. Then camping with my husband. Then camping with my husband and children. We all loved this place. It is even close enough for a day trip. Swimming in the lake, hiking, camping, or having a picnic. Now my kids are grown, my husband is gone. but lots of memories. I come here now with my daughter and grandchildren and my in-laws for hiking and re-exploring. Still making memories.

Went 2 weeks ago for 3 days, and am going again 2moro for 2 days because I enjoyed myself that much. Bathrooms were pretty descent. Lake was a close walk from site. Kayaking was great. The falls were nice as well. Plenty of picnic tables down by the lake, would bring my camping grill down to the lake and cook breakfast right on the lakeside. Nice fire pits too. Overall really enjoyed the whole trip.

I’ve stayed several times at various loops in the last couple of years and some offer better sites than others —particularly the ones closer to the lake and the sunrise spot at the Overlook— but each has been a delight, which keeps me coming back for more! I love the fire pits and how warm they are with the “chimney” style construction. Some spots have softer ground and better trees for hanging hammocks. But you can’t beat the hot water here and the water pressure! Amazing. I love it and if you can get a spot here during October count yourself lucky because the colors can’t be beat. There are a number of excellent trails directly tied to the camp as well, so for $22/nt, that value is unbeatable. Some good locals place out bundles of wood nearby the entrance for around $7, but you could probably get it a it cheaper. Still, it’s mighty convenient.

I camped here in loop 1 and had a great time! The walk to the trail next to the lakes was not far at all! Restroom/shower building was very conveniently located as well. Rangers made great safety restrictions upon arrival. Campsites are easily able to fit several people and quiet hours are super nice. I believe it started at 10pm which made sleeping way easier!

I went there to camp every year. Especially in Early-Mid October the colors are real nice with 3 hikes to North Point, Kaaterskill Falls and Artists Rock. I’m happy to go to this campground with my friends every fall season.
