Frederic Dewil, M.D.

Dr.Dewil is a great Doctor. I have been a patient of his for 3 years. He always has taken the time to listen to my symptoms, ask all the right questions and give me the best care possible. He orders all the right tests to make sure he knows what is going on with your lungs and your breathing is okay. His staff is excellent at calling you back with results as well. He never leaves you wondering . A lot of people might say he doesn’t have the best bedside manner but from my experience it’s because he is focusing on the issue at hand and is making sure he has all the facts and is able to treat your symptoms. I presented to his office with a rapid heart rate not even what I was seeing him for and he sent me to the ED just to make sure I was okay , that is the kind of doctor you want ! I highly recommend Dr.Dewil for Pulmonary issues.

this doctor is straight to the point, does not sugar coat which is refreshing. Id like to know the good and and ugly of any diagnosis. His staff is accommodating and friendly.

Dewil has always been dry humor at best, but if you smoke he isn't the one to see..He does not help with smoking at all..

I agree with the other reviews and wish I saw them before seeing him. From the moment he walked in, he had a condescending attitude. He said there is no proper way to breathe and when I questioned him he was like “you’re getting oxygen, right? You have better lungs than I do” and pretty much made me feel like an idiot. Dewil definitely needs to work on his bedside manner and maybe open his mind to the fact that there are proper and improper ways of breathing.

Dr. Dewil has the worst bedside manner I have ever seen. From the moment he walked in the door, he seemed like he had no interest and sounded annoyed. When he asked why I was there, I explained and then told him I had some scarring on my lungs from my last chest xray and asked if he was able to see the results in MyChart, which all Hackensack Meridian doctors have access to. He scoffed at me and said "I don't have your chart" in a very condescending tone. All HSMHG doctors have MyChart so they can all share results with each other, so I have no idea why he pretended not to. He then proceeded to tell me that chest scarring was normal.

I have been having shortness of breath for YEARS and have been diagnosed with asthma for 30 years. He refused to prescribe me an everyday inhaler until I completed breathing tests (which could not be scheduled sooner than a month away) because my lungs "sounded fine" that day. Thankfully, my regular doctor prescribed me an inhaler two days later.

Dr. Dewil also told me that feeling short of breath on a daily basis is "normal." So lung scarring and daily shortness of breath for years is normal? Are you kidding me? He also made no attempts to explain other reasons why I could be struggling so badly to breath if everything seemed "normal" to him. Honestly just acted like he couldn't be bothered.

I will be finding another pulmonologist who actually listens, cares and takes the time to explain things. Dr. Dewil has no compassion and is clearly driven by ego and not a desire to help.

My experience here was a bit different then everyone else,oddly I found the Dr Dewil to be pleasant and he took the time to explain things to me ...however the staff is horrendous and nasty ,if you need something from them be advised it will not happen I literally had to drive back to the office twice because they simply couldn't fax something ,they just wouldn't do it and the worst part is they said they did and lied !

OMG I thought maybe it was me but the reviews I just read on here were my exact experience. Worst bedside manner, felt rushed and like he had no interest in helping me. So ditto to every review on here. 👎👎

Dr. Will is a mean and insulting man, Who has no bedside manner.Who also misdiagnosed me And it was one of the worst experiences that I've had
