Bald Head Island Ferry Landing

This is a nice ferry with friendly staff and clean and comfortable vessels with air-conditioned cabins and plenty of outdoor seating. The landing is close to a beach access as well as a 5 minute walk to Old Baldy lighthouse.

Had a fantastic time! Strongly recommended! Biking and golf cart the island to get around. Lots to do and see! Plan a whole day to get best experience!

Loved this whole island!

I'd like to lie and say "Bald Head Island Stinks" to keep the place a secret and not get crowded, but BHI is near to heaven on earth: absolutely beautiful! The ferry system is incredibly well run. The website has all sorts of videos and links and data to see how many spots are left at different times. Maybe the ferry did leave a few minutes late but aren't we on island time! BHI is so pretty and pristine in nature and man made surroundings. We loved how sweet the air smelled!! It wasn't just the salt air, or the dense maritime forest or the wild or planted flowers but some magical combination -- or maybe the lack of pollution from no cars!! So BHI truly doesn't stink!!

Great stop over in the way to Beaufort with a nice restaurant to a fuel dock. Tight channel entry so keep your eyes open and call ahead to the fuel dock on 16 vhf

The only way to the island. Staff very friendly. The ride has some great views.

You can stand outside while on the ferry or you can be inside where we are it's much warmer and I enjoyed the ride and the visit here on baldhead island.If you've never taking a ride on the ferry then you should try it!

The staff at the ferry landing were very friendly and helpful getting our luggage on and off the ferry.

Clean, well organized layout, efficient staff, great views, comfortable ride across although ferries well used and need updates, painting, etc but safe. Harbor facility has good modern restaurant and amenities. Plenty of parking and seating.

This ferry landing has a little of little shod to explore. I can’t wait to go back

The island was very clean and welcoming with many new buildings than what I remember from 25 years ago. There's something about island life, the people seem happier and less stressed out, healthier and more laid back. Not as angry and nasty as city folk who will shoot you over a parking space.

Our first time on a ferry so, wasn't sure what to expect; really enjoyed it and the fact they're so dog friendly, as is the entire area.

Nice place to visit

The service at the BHI Ferry terminal is outstanding. The baggage handlers turn around the ferries, taking off luggage and loading the outbound bags as fast as humanly possible, and the ticket takers are always cheerful. Sandpipers is a short walk away, where you can get coffee, ice cream, or hot chocolate. There are two sets of restrooms near the terminal.

Relaxing trip over to bald head on the ferry and a short walk to climb the lighthouse.
