United States Postal Service

The Alfred, Maine Post Office is small and typically not extremely busy. The postal clerks here are very helpful.
I use this Post Office frequently because of location, ease of accessibility and shorter wait times than at other Post Offices near me.
As of the time I'm writing this it's important we remember many businesses can't get the employees they need to operate at maximum efficiency. Unfortunately the US Postal Service is experiencing this problem. So, be kind please!

Biggest waste of time. They are always "closed for lunch" doesn't matter the time.

As is the case with most other postmasters I've TRIED to work with, the postmaster at this location does the bare minimum required if confronted with a customer problem. You are made to feel like YOU are the problem and not the lousy tracking service and mail that goes mysteriously missing after leaving the Scarborough sorting facility. This is not the first time either! I had a $10,000.00 Rolex wristwatch stolen at the Wells location after dropping it off and being checked in. It never even left the post office itself, but was never located and I lost out! I've had TWO tracking problems with the Alfred location and both times felt like I was bothering THEM! Extremely poor help and follow up. Lousy!!

Multiple packages have arrived ripped open enough to see what was inside and then retaped. Luckily I ordered things that they didn't want to steal, at least.

Lazy employees I don’t want to do their jobs.

Constant late deliveries, I get that this time of the year is busy but it's happened numerous times now.

They don't answer the phone 😒
