The Boathouse Bar & Grill

The Boathouse Bar & Grill was very surprising! We enjoyed sitting outside overlooking the bayou. It was a beautiful, cool breezy afternoon, but they kicked up the comfort zone by having a see-through vinyl curtain to block the wind, and up above our seating was a personal outdoor heater. It made sitting out there so much more enjoyable. We then ordered the Seafood Bread for our appetizer and the Double Boathouse Platter for two. Because they make everything when you order, it takes a tiny bit longer, but we really don't mind that because it was all well worth the wait. The waitress was very attentive, and not only did she tell us about the wait for our steamer, but she checked in with us frequently and also kept us updated on about how much longer it would be. We really enjoyed the Seafood Bread! It had so much seafood on it!! My sweet hubby really enjoyed it, and he usually doesn't like that kind of thing as much as I do. We then got our Boathouse Platter and WOW!! It was SO DELECTABLE!! There were tons of royal reds, there was sausage, mushrooms, potatoes, corn, lots of mussels, and two huge snow crab clusters. We had some leftover shrimp, mushrooms, and Seafood Bread; there was so much food! We spent just a little over $100 for our food and drinks. We would definitely recommend The Boathouse Bar & Grill!!

My husband and I are from the Gulf Coast so we have the freshest seafood available every day. This was the best steamed shrimp we have ever had! So much flavor! The service was very friendly and the atmosphere was chill.

We were greeted by friendly staff everyone welcomed us when we arrived. Luckily we were early for lunch time. We had a delicious big burger that we shared shrimp steamers was so tasty it was hard to stop eating and the seafood gumbo didn’t lack in seafood’s. Don’t forget to banana pudding. Pleasant sitting outside under the fans. Nice children’s playground away from the water with seating for parents. Pull your boat up or drive up to restaurant, easy just off the bridge. Pets are welcome in outside seating and we even saw people come in swimsuits. Relaxing atmosphere to enjoy seafood along with other delicious foods. If you’re lucky Natt will be your server and the executive chef Jo Cash-Mitchell will be cooking for you.

Excellent quaint spot right off the bridge. Food is top notch! Local beers and of course your favorite local faire. Take a time out, and enjoy the marsh view…

Food was delicious, atmosphere was chill, and service was great! The owner would come by and check on us and made sure everything was good. We found our new seafood spot!

The food is AWESOME! We had the royal reds platters and it was fabulous. So much food! We’ll be back!

The service is fun. You can sit outside and see the river and enjoy the people who come by boats to enjoy the restaurant.

Great little place on the bayou! Excellent service and gourmet food! (not bar food). Jennifer, our server was great! Tony helped us out by bringing our own fan to the patio. We were seated right over the water. We will visit again soon!

Excellent service! Requested our oysters to be opened fresh and they obliged, they were juicy and salty! Got the mahi mahi tacos and gumbo also, very good!

Cullen was an awesome waiter and person!! Checked in with my family many times to make sure we had what he needed, went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and having a great experience, and was just an awesome guy!! Food was amazing as well, can’t wait to come back!!

The steamed shrimp was okay. The seasoning made up for it being slightly overcooked. The burgers and fries were top notch though! The atmosphere is AWESOME! Such as nice place to chill and hang out with the coastal vibes. We will be going back!

My husband and I went for his bday lunch, wonderful service, Kendall was excellent, the steamed seafood platter was perfect 👌 the whole vibe was great. They even brought him some complimentary cheesecake which I ate 😋 highly recommend. We will be back. Shop local

Just a great little restaurant on the river. The food is amazing and the view is incredible. The pelicans hang out there a lot and are fun to watch. The next time we travel across the gulf coast we will definitely stop there again.

Small family owned seafood place we discovered on our last trip to Gulfport. Great food, fast and friendly service. We're looking forward to returning some day. The seafood platter should've been called the OMG platter as it was quite alot of food and delicious.

Really great relaxing atmosphere. Nice to sit outside overlooking the water. The wait staff was very sweet and friendly. We had a dozen fresh oysters to start and then the Mahi sandwich and the veggies. My wife had a regular burger with smashed potatoes. Very tasty and not too expensive.

In an area where 95% of the seafood is fried, this was a gerat find for us. The Royal Reds and Mahi tacos were fantastic. The service and atmosphere were perfect; lots of friendly locals. Highly recommend.

We had the best food and service. It was way beyond our expectations after a long day of traveling!
Blackened Mahi, Smashed Potatoes, Mac n Cheese!
We also tried the local “Royal Reds” which is the best shellfish I have ever had in my life!
We finished dinner off with homemade funnel cake fries served with a side of melted chocolate!
We also took 2 desserts to go for the next couple of days. Homemade banana pudding and White Chocolate and Blueberry cheesecake!
Jennifer, our server was excellent! Can’t wait to stop back by there next week on our way home!
