Smokin’ Mortars BBQ & Meat Market

The burgers were really good and super big, had the bacon wrapped chicken, and it was good. I had the jalapeño brats, too. All really good. Had to cook them at a Father hennepin state park campsite. Had the lunch speacial, and it really melted in my mouth.

Best breakfast in the area, ALWAYS FRESH. I've been eating their breakfasts for months now, from the get go as well as lunches. Food is GREAT. Highlight however is the owners and their employees. Always smiling and happy. I recommend their food as well as the meat they sell. ALL TOP NOTCH!!

Family owned Butcher Shop. Great daily Breakfast and Lunch sandwiches. Fresh steaks. Very friendly

The food and the service were great I will ad that the atmosphere is a little bland but the rest was great look upthe faze rug walk and that's how I felt eating here the best sandwiches I've had in a wile

This place rocks. Went in not really knowing what they had. Ended up having a tri tip sandwich which was very tasty. But the pizza was even better. Brisket pizza was absolutely one of the best things I've ever eaten. Grabbed a little bit of jerky and a couple sticks which were awesome. Wasn't able to get back in over the weekend but will be back next time in the area!

Good food decent prices. Smoked lobster mac and hoggie are amazing. Will be visiting again.

This place is outstanding not only for the meat and food selection, but also for the service and expertise of the owners and staff. They readily got us info on some ingredients we needed to know about for an allergy, which is not always common in less populated areas. I happen to know they also support and serve local causes as well like Take a Vet Fishing. You can tell they care about others and about what they do. Go out of your way to make this a must-stop place and you won’t regret it!

Took a different route home avoiding highway 169 on a busy weekend. Found this. Great surprise. Have only tried the pulled pork sandwich, but wow! Good smoke, great sauce. Picked up some brats that I try from home. Will be stopping again.

We came to visit family from Arizona. What a gem to find in the small town of Isle. We went back 3 times in 7 days. Fresh and delicious meat every time. But best of all was the horseradish cheese.

Must stop spot very good food freshly made brisket sandwich very friendly service! If you don't stop as you pass you are doing yourself a disservice!

Had lunch here today and it was awesome,I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys bbq!!!!

Love the pulled pork sandwiches, baby back ribs. My wife thinks their soup is the best because it is not too salty and tasty.
Beef jerky is great too. Highly recommend.

Awesome place...wonderful aroma as soon as you're through the door. Only had the burgers and brats, but they were great. Lots of flavors to choose!

Have been buying stuff here since they opened. Always a great crew always great product. Today I had the ham and wild rice soup with a shredded beef and cheddar sandwich very very good

Not like your typical restaurant but the BBQ sandwich and chicken wild rice soup was delishhhh! Also picked up some amazing jerky and meat sticks along the way. 10/10 would recommend!

Finally - fresh deli meat in Isle. But that not where it ends, oh no… smokin mortars has some of the best filet mignon and ribeyes Ive ever tasted and more burger choices than you probably have vacation days. Go in and visit them for all of your meats and accessories. Family owned and staffed, fantastic service with a good old fashioned meat market flair.

Recommended by David who frequents this meat market. We got some ribs, roast beef, turkey and a half pound of beef sticks from and everything we had was off the charts.

Only complaint we had is we didn’t buy more! You can’t go wrong in anything you get from Arlo and his team! They treat you right. Customer service is top notch and you cannot go wrong with anything you get from Smokin’ Mortars!

This place has the BEST BBQ in the Isle, Wahkon, Onamia area! Great pulled pork, pub burgers, thick cut bacon, spicy beef sticks and horseradish pickles ( you really can't taste the horseradish) which I was reluctant to try.

Every meal has been superb. We loved the food here, the Reuben, the beef tips, the sides. Pro tip: Order an extra for later!😁

Oh happy days!!! What a great little meat market and BBQ. Had the rib eye sandwich. It was delicious 😋 Pick up some flavored beef sticks and had a few on the way home -- fantastic 👌 Pray for continued success.
