Great people, great service — especially considering the challenges up against USPS today.

I don't think most people realize, Working with the public is difficult. This past Saturday morning, the Team at the Dover Post office handled an unexpected situation with care and grace. A medical emergency with a woman (let's call her Gurtrude), with a lobby full of people. The Team moved quickly to call 911 and make sure Gurtrude was safe, and cleaning up the chunky mess she excreted. While all this was happening... rerouting the waiting line, and continued to serve cranky customers, continuously announcing the appreciation for everyone being "patient & sorry for the delay". Bravo to the team and their ability to handle whatever situation appears at their counter.

Previously I’d rated the Dover Post Office 2/3 stars, which was unfair of me and mostly done out of frustration. Speaking with the personnel there, particularly the woman I’ve spoken to over the phone several times, they do care and are working hard to make sure everyone is getting their mail in a timely fashion.

Unfortunately I don’t have her name, but a woman that works there called me and gave me an update on a late shipment, and additionally said she’d keep an eye on my item and let me know if anything odd arises.

I imagine most of the year, but this time more than ever, they are all busy as hell, and it would’ve been very easy to just go on with her day and not reach out regarding my inquiry. The fact that she did so, explaining the situation, and not coming across irritated with me for having a question demonstrates great professionalism in my opinion.

I visit the post office at least once a month, and I'm always happy to see Marty and chat with him. All the clerks are incredibly sweet and great at their jobs. One time I went to pick up a letter that needed to be signed for, and at first they couldn't find it because it had been addressed to my boyfriend's old address. The manager personally went to look for it and updated me at every juncture, while the clerks busily took care of the other customers to make sure I wasn't holding up the line. The letter was found, and I walked out with a smile on my face.

Hope went out of her way to hunt down a package that was missing, one that I was due to receive 5 days ago. Not only did she personally call me the following day to give me an update, my package was delivered less than 24 hours after we initially spoke. She is amazing and I hope Hope receives the recognition she deserves. 5 Star Customer Service.

Also, Wendy is the best mail carrier this side of the Cocheco.

These guys are literally the best! Made my Christmas by tracking my package and not having me wait until Monday for it! I love these guys and they deserve a raise and the very best they can get! Hope they all have a merry Christmas!

The Dover USPS office is most likely the most greeting and uplifting government building I will ever step foot in. The employees are incredibly well trained and dedicated to customer service. All will help you with anything, no questions about it. Wonderful service and exceptional attitudes and personalities!!

Rocked up just before 10:30 for a passport appointment for my daughter, only to discover that I was a week early! Expected to be turned away, but Marty took us anyways despite my major scheduling snafu. Thank you so much!

Honestly, these workers couldn't represent the word customer service any better! I was blown away by the amount of effort the cashier went out of his way to help fit a package to my liking. I was relived to be helped and not embarrassed with my lack of shipping experience....very thankful

Updating my review. Post master is excellent and our once poor experience has been turned over with good customer service. Props to Karen and 'Miss V' - they're the best!!!

Maybe the most pleasant post office experience I've ever had despite visiting the week before Christmas. One clerk even helped me stamp my envelopes!

Love this post office, the men at the counters go out of there way to help you in any way they can. They are funny and great with customers. Love my delivery lady also. Great service!!

It is always frustrating to lose a package, but I have had a great experience with the customer service at USPS. Friendly, personable and helped me as much as possible.

The counter and passport postal workers have always been friendly and helpful. Sometimes the line wait is a little excessive, but that's a government thing.

Everyone is friendly and helpful but Marty goes above and beyond! With his beautifull smile, sparkling eyes and witty humor he makes your day!
