Quiet inside but deliciously loud inside. Amazing food, long smoked pulled pork. Perfectly cooked burger, damn fries were even awesome! If you're around the area, you are missing out if you don't stop by.

Everyone kept telling me I needed to try this place out. I’m kind of disappointed that I never stopped by before.

There’s not much seating, about 10 tables in one room. I couldn’t see how many in the next. The wait wasn’t that long either once we ordered our food.

The soups were really good, I was really surprised by the brisket vegetable soup. Not at all what I expected, but still really good. Very peppery. The loaded fries were on point. The chicken strips were absolutely soaked in sauce (garlic parm). I really enjoyed their fried risotto. It’s worth coming back for honestly.

The staff is very friendly and they did a wonderful job.

We have been wanting to try this place for a while now!!! We finally did last sat and went back sunday!!! There is so much we want to try with their truley unique menu and style. Everything we had was perfectly cooked and delicious.... the crabby fries are life changing...I believe I said the best appetizer I have ever had!!! A must try no matter where you live worth the 30 min drive for us!!

Excellent service, owner comes around and asks you how the meal is. Breakfast is great, I recommend the garbage plate. Dinner was delicious, had the BBQ platter with cornbread, Mac and cheese, smoked turkey, brisket and pulled pork. Amazing. Also have a deal on Wednesday 25 wings for $20 had those as well, like 6 different dry ribs and 10 sauces to choose from. And the cheesecake was fantastic. Great place.

So happy to see a valley restaurant that isn't just a "valley restaurant." Holds it own as a restaurant well worth the price point for quality and taste. We loved the oldies music and comfortable atmosphere. The quality of food that is homemade can't be beat! Ordered the gnocchi which were soft and sauce was delicious! Husband ordered the wing special. Sriracha bourbon sauce and hot honey did not disappoint! But the jerk chicken sauce was phenomenal! Very nice waitress, Tori, and owner was very friendly hospitable. Nice to see a place have specials again too, which showcases their food diversity. Will be back!

First time, and definitely not the last. Seated quickly with prompt service. I got the BBQ sampler platter, and it had some of the best brisket burnt ends I've had away from my own smoker. The Mrs got the heaven and hell chicken, not even really liking risotto, and absolutely loved it. The sauce combination was amazing.

Awesome barbecue!! Best pulled pork and brisket i ever ate. Staff is pleasant and efficient. Many other goodies on this menu! Tucked away in Monessen like a hidden gem.

Well worth the drive. Had a family reunion in Sewickley PA., had some free time so myself, wife, uncle, and cousin drove to The Steele Plate for a Saturday afternoon brunch. Definitely worth the trip, food was fantastic, staff on point. Got to spend some time with owners, who took time out of their busy schedule to chat with my family, usually my wife takes plenty of pictures but its hard to do when your mouth is full, and your fork is constantly digging into everyone else's plate. Next time I'm in PA, The Steel Plate will definitely be on top of my list to visit.

For the “foodies” among you in the Mon-Valley, this is a restaurant not to miss. Locally owned and operated, the owners are congenial and caring. The food was unexpected flavorful. My wife had ribs with greens and corn bread. The BBQ sauce has a good flavor and the ribs were tender. I had Jamaica Jerk Wings with cabbage and rice. The wings were moist, not at all over cooked, and incredibly tasty, spicy but not so hot as too lose their flavor. Price was moderate and the service exceptional. Well worth the trip to Monessen!

The low country boil was fantastic. Huge amount of food, great price. We’re here often and we will keep coming back. Best lil place in the valley

Food well worth the price and super accommodating to dietary needs! Love that they offer specials and especially holiday packages. Kitchen is clean and open. You can see them working hard and taking pride in what they make for you. The steel plate is a family affair and is run by a true chef which is apparent in the taste of the food and the quality! Truly a gem of a local business.

A spur of the moment decision. A scenic 55 minute drive to a delicious meal! There was only 2 other tables with patrons when we arrived. By the time our meals came, the place was filled, including the back area! So glad I decided to leave almost immediately after I seen the Pineapple dinner special or we wouldn't have had a seat! lol. Everything was good! Don't forget to sign the book when you leave!! 👍

If I could eat here every day of the week I would! First off they have the best wings around! (I am a wing snob). Their wait staff is always so friendly and accommodating. No matter what you are in the mood for they have it. Their specials are always something new and exciting. I always start off with a side salad with their homemade ranch. Also make sure to save room for dessert because they always have a great cheesecake on the menu!

Came here by chance after another local restaurant closed due to water issues. Not only did they accommodate a party of 13 that was fine minutes away, the owner personally greeted us, explained individual menus items to us and made sure to check on us throughout the visit. Servers were prompt and polite. Menu options were unique and very delicious. Very family friendly as well.

A GEM! We went to Kennywood for the day and were tired and hungry and were so thankful to find this gem not too far from our hotel. The service was friendly, the food was great, and there was easy on-street parking. I had the brisket alfredo, and it was delicious!

The food is amazing!!! The pickle sandwich is a must try for pickle lovers my favorite is the chop chicken Caesar sandwich. Both should be put on menu regularly

Food was amazing! I got the Heaven and Hell chicken parm. The sauce was fantastic, chicken was cooked perfectly, and the risotto cake that it sat on top of was delicious and not dry. Definitely will be back again and hope to score a piece of the strawberry scooter crunch cheesecake next time since they sold out before we got there today.

Russell and his staff were amazing. Best BBQ we have had in a long time. The deep fried lobster was fantastic. Everyone was very welcoming and the food was incredible. Can’t wait to come back and try the rest of the menu.

I heard this place had really good wings and I happen to be hungry and in the area so I stopped in. I was so impressed with the menu It was hard to decide what to order. I did end up getting wings, but they were part of the bbq platter special of the day (6 wings,burnt tips, pulled pork, corn bread, and Mac& cheese as my side. I asked for a bun to make a sandwich with my pulled pork.) everything was delicious. My daughter had the chicken parm sandwich. It was so good. Then my girl had a pasta with a blush sauce I believe and it was amazing also. She also had a salad with house made Italian that I didn’t try but she said it was the best. Maybe because I thought of this place as being associated with wings I imagined it as a bar but it’s a great little sit down restaurant with an amazing menu, and I’ll definitely be back to try so many items. It’s only 20 minutes from me but I’d drive way farther

This was an amazing restaurant! The staff was so nice and it doesn't take long to get your food. The food is also very good! Definitely come here if you want to have a good meal :)
