Cozy spot with extremely friendly staff! We sat down for dinner and everything was absolutely delicious! We got the basket meals and those were plenty of food several of us took home leftovers! We’re definitely coming back again before we leave the area!

We vacationed in Mathews on a whim and the Seafood Shack only added to our impression that this area is truly a hidden gem in every way! The food was delicious and service was super friendly and prompt! From the crab cakes to the hush puppies to the broiled catch of the day, nothing disappointed our party of five!

We've never been disappointed here for either lunch, brunch or dinner. The drinks are great, the food is great and they appreciate your business and always make a point to try to talk to everyone, even when they are jam packed! Amy's crab pie and the shrimp and grits are to die for!

Love this place. The seafood is always fresh. The staff is courteous. Everyone one is friendly. This is my favorite place to eat when I'm in the area.

Small in size but amazing in every other way. Super friendly staff. Quick service. Cold beverages. Hot food. And the flavor...ah the flavor was directly on point. Our party had steamed shrimp with a side of hush puppies and a crab cake basket! The crab cake was chock full of crab meat, lightly fried to a thin crispy outside layer. The hush puppies were hot and tasty with butter. The shrimp were hot and peeled easily and were dipped in butter, an awesome combo! If you are on the fence about giving this place a shot ...GET OFF and try it!!! You will NOT be disappointed!!!

Great crab cakes (could have had a bit more broil and crunch on outside but flavor and texture of inside was 🤌🏼). Quick service, yummy hush puppies, coleslaw, and fries. A great local spot that is always busy and everyone knows each other. Worth swinging by for quality seafood if in the area!!

This place is absolutely amazing!! We had a party of 14 (college students on vacation mind you) and they were able to get us in so fast. We called around noon on a Friday and asked if it was possible to get a reservation for the same day and they said if we came around 5:45 that would be fine! The weather was perfect and we sat outside on their porch. Our server, Jessie, was so kind and so helpful. We all loved our food and the owner (I believe it was the owner or maybe a manager) checked on us multiple times to see how we were doing. He was very nice as well! Plus, the shirts they sell are awesome!! 10/10 would recommend this place to anyone in the Mathews/Onemo area. Loved everything about it!!

The prime rib on Fridays after 4p was freaking awesome. Roasted potatoes and green beans were grand. The service is always wonderful. Amy and Robert are the bomb. ❤ this place!

We went in early Friday for our anniversary as we were visiting the area. Service was spot on and food was delish! Mussels appetizer was my fav. Try the crab cake! Cheesecake was sooo good! The owners were lovely! Wish you best of luck! Don’t forget about 101 on main if you get to Blackstone!

#1 Place to get seafood in the area, had some of the best shrimp I have EVER had here. Service is great, friendly, and extremely helpful. Everything is FRESH and store is CLEAN.

Love this place! Great for the seafood market but also have dined here several times. Only place in the county to get steamed crabs served at the restaurant or to go. Our favorites are the steamed shrimp, coconut fried shrimp, sashimi tuna, and she crab soup. The soup is fantastic and loaded with crab, and the tuna cooked to perfection. Took my friends grandkids for some crab picking last summer and the crabs were steamed perfectly as well. Oh, and the BEST hushpuppies I've ever had! The only thing I would want to see is a sauteed soft crab option, (besides fried), and then my world would be complete :)

The service was good. The food was awesome. But the price made it beyond what I expected. It should have cost twice as much for what you get. I highly recommend this place. For seafood by the bay, it’s as good as it gets. I will come back again.

MOST EXCELLENT!! If you ever go to Matthews Va, this is a must stop. Had softcrab sandwiches. Reasonable priced and delicious (they were perfect)! Staff was attentive and polite. Great little place

We visit Mathews Country every summer and have eaten in all places serving seafood. Seafood shack has become the best seafood restaurant in the area. Ate hush puppies, clams, steamed crab, crab cake, fish fillet, oysters, and crab/ shrimp salad. Everything was great. Service was better than average. Have not purchased from market, but plan to during next visit.

The food taste great! There are a lot of seafood options. The service was wonderful. Everyone was kind about our high energy baby.
