Excellent, professional and friendly service. My mail gets out fast as well. While many people complain about the post office in general I am very happy with the service I receive from the Bridgman P.O.

Excellent service and friendly workers. I agree the doors are hard to open. Other than that, I am thankful we have their service in our little community, I can remember when it was in the old Coast to Coast store. I am sure those who have complaints would miss it if it were to close.

Last Thursday I received two packages delivered by UPS (United Parcel Service). The two boxes were placed in a plastic box that I keep on my front porch for UPS deliveries. A senile mail carrier named Kathy who works at the Bridgman Post office as a sub picked up these two boxes that were obviously labeled by UPS (there was no way she could have scanned them with her hand held scanner) and she took them to the post office in Bridgman, MI. I went to try to retrieve them first thing Friday morning from the Bridgman post office and the postmaster, Carol, told me that they had already been put on the truck and were being dispatched back to Kalamazoo. She told me that they would be sent back to Bridgman because of the mailing label being addressed to me in Bridgman.

Saturday morning I went to the post office in Bridgman to see if the packages were there. The very rude postal worker that I would have to wait until the mail was "delivered" to me by the carrier to get them....that she "didn't have time to look for them right now"...Yes, by now I was fuming mad....A incompetent substitute senile mail carrier had virtually "stolen" my two boxes of Mary Kay Products and they were on a mail truck when they weren't even labeled with a USPS label and I was going to have to wait until this same incompetent substitute senile mail carrier would bring them back to me on Saturday afternoon around 3 PM.

I decided that I was NOT leaving the post office without my two packages. Yes, I was angry...yes I was loud, yes I was about ready to jump over that counter and strangle the rude postal worker who had no courtesy at all towards me and threatened to call the police on me. I calmed down and told her "ok" I'll wait right here until you have time to look for my two boxes"...I went outside got my two little grand daughters who are 2 & 3 years old and we waited, and waited until the rude postal worker got around to start sorting the packages in the bin. Amazingly, she found them as soon as she started sorting.

My questions to the USPS are:

1. Why did Kathy (the incompetent senile mail carrier) pick up two packages that were delivered by UPS and take them to the post office in the first place...can't she read labels?

2. Why did I have to be detained and neglected by the rude postal worker on Saturday morning when my packages were immediately accessible and all she would have to have done was look behind her and get them for me without making me wait for over an hour standing with two little girls waiting for her to find the time to accommodate me.??

3. Why does the USPS hire and keep incompetent people like this staff at the post office in Bridgman in the first place??

4. When can postal patrons expect to be treated with respect and given the service that we pay for when we ship USPS??

5. When can I expect an apology for the rudeness and incompetence given to me by Bridgman Post Office???

This facility is not handicap accessible. They do not have the automatic doors to get in and out of are very hard to open and close both inside and outside doors
