We had the dim sum and it was a lovely experience, the food was fun and exciting, the service was friendly and helpful, and the space was so beautiful. This is a great way to sample lots of traditional Chinese cuisine.

We meant to take a photo before we started eating but got too excited. This one is after we demolished all of the lovely food.

Before I begin with the food, the architecture and interior of the building is absolutely beautiful. The outside is very unassuming, but when you take a step inside, it’s a wonderful nod to Chinese culture and infrastructure. It’s made for communal eating with friends or family, but even as a pair of two, my partner and I were comfortable. We came in during a slow hour, but the owner of the restaurant was very accommodating and very attentive. He made sure that we knew exactly how each dish was intended to be eaten and insisted that if we didn’t find anything appetizing, then we could try something else. He is very confident in his food, and it is well warranted. We had the mini, steamed pork buns; delicious with the black vinegar provided. We then chose the dim sum menu (listed on the bottom right of the main menu) and were amazed with the diversity of choices. We ordered the BBQ Pork, Shrimp Balls, Steamed Shrimp Dumplings, Flowing Egg Custard Buns, Baked BBQ Pork Buns, Scallion Pancakes, Beef Fun Rolls, and the Beef Tripe, all of which were delicious, the only one we didn’t find as appealing was the beef tripe, but it was a brand new cut of meat to us, so that’s no fault on their end. Even still, the server was extremely generous and took it off our check, even though we insisted to pay for it. Overall, it was an amazing experience and we will be coming again.
They also have a cute cart, with all of their dim sum options, they bring around the restaurant during the mornings of Saturday and Sunday, which we will be coming back to see! :)

Delicious dim sum (specifically the Shumai, Bean Curd Roll, and Chicken Feet). Excellent customer service: friendly, professional, efficient, and fast. Big space with nice decorations and lots of seating. Fair prices. Easy parking.

Our family ate on a Saturday at 10:30am. Great time if you have kids.

It was also very nice talking with Henry (owner) and Kenny (manager).

Will definitely come back.

We lived in Asia for a few years and this is as close to taking me back to Hong Kong as I’ve tasted in greater Cincinnati!! Owners were friendly and helpful. Can’t wait to return for more dim sum soon!

The food is excellent! Probably the best crab Rangoons I ever have. The service was ok, I had the feeling everything was a little bit rush. The atmosphere it was ok. We have been seated to a table close to the kitchen, it was a little bit dirty around. If you look up on the walls and ceiling all looks amazing but if you look down, is kinda dirty. With all this, we would be back. Hopefully we would get a better table. I do recommend the place.

Just had an incredible dim sum dinner at Grand Oriental! The freshness was unreal - everything tasted like it was made from scratch, and some dishes even came out sizzling hot from the kitchen.

The flavors were on point too - super deep, complex, and authentic. It felt like I was back in Hong Kong! The menu is extensive, so don't be afraid to ask the friendly staff for recommendations - they're happy to help.

Overall, this is a must-visit for any dim sum lover! Highly recommend!

The food was very good! Initially they presented us with a regular menu but then the waiter realized I wanted dim sum. I didn't know they had a separate menu for dim sum. Everything was delicious and the waiter (one of the owners, I presume) was very personable. The other owner even came to check on us and make sure everything was alright. Very nice folks. The building is beautiful and makes you feel like you're in China (see pictures.) My only complaint is the building looks like it needs some upkeep done in certain areas. I can look past all that though as the food was so wonderful!
We did show up on a Monday around 3pm and the place was pretty slow, in case you're wondering why no one is in the pictures!

One of, if not, the best Chinese restaurants in Cincinnati. Certainly for dim sum on the weekends.. Their dim sum is delicious as well as many of their off-menu items. The family that runs the place are always fun to talk to. You always get a sense of pride in the food and atmosphere. The design of the restaurant feels right out of a film. I always feel like the gallery area in the movie Big Trouble in Little China when I eat here.

What an amazing restaurant! You have to try the dim sum. We didn't know what it was or what to do, but the owner took care of everything, and ordered all his favorites!! Can't wait to go back!

The owners and staff are very attentive - remembered us in detail on our second trip to the restaurant. This is the best Chinese food I have had in my life and foresee many returns in the future! I highly recommend the Mongolian Beef.

Very yummy food. The brown sauce seemed high quality. The lady, who was 55 or 60 years old, was well aware of gluten-free and reassured us that they could make a gluten-free dish for my wife. I am vegan and had plenty of options. The service was better than average. The environment is really good. Overall, we had a really good experience for our date. We will definitely be returning. My wife described it as a high-end Chinese restaurant. Thank you.

We were so impressed with the atmosphere, friendliness, and amazing food! The orange chicken and pan fried noodles were recommended to us by who we assume is the owner, and we loved both! We forgot to take "before" pictures, but the empty plates imply good food 😉 Portions are definitely big enough to share so it was nice to be able to try both. We just moved to the area and will definitely become regulars here.

Hands down THE best Dim Sum my family and I have ever had. We’ve been there four times and it has been amazing every time. Great staff too....always extremely friendly, professional, and helpful. Excellent prices too. After having Dim Sum in Seattle, New York, San Francisco, and Washington D.C.........we weren’t expecting to find such an awesome place here in Ohio but we are glad we did. Thanks!

This was our first visit here. It doesn't look like too much on the outside but inside is beautiful and has plenty of seating. The service was impeccable; all employees were sweet and remembered everything we needed. The guy who seated us and brought us our tea and food was so friendly and had a sense of humor.

The food was delicious. I tried both the miso tofu soup and the szechuan eggplant while my husband had the hong sue tofu. We tried each other's dishes as well. Portions were generous but not overbearing. Presentation was nice. Quite a few vegan options available for the health-conscious. The sauces were rich. It was definitely the best tasting szechuan I've ever had. The oolong tea was served in a teapot for refills and was loose leaf; it was delicious as well.

The only negative I have to mention is the cost. Each menu mentions there is a 10% increase on the bill to combat rising food costs. I get it, but at the same time, this was the most I've ever spent on eating out (about $40 before tip for two). Be aware of this before you stop by!

All in all, Grand Oriental Chinese gave us an excellent experience but at a premium price. If it weren't for the high cost I think we'd make the trip all the way out to Loveland just to go here.

(10/6/22) This is a hidden gem. It is difficult to describe how beautiful it is in here. There is soft piano music playing in the back which beautifully compliments the ornate design. My server took time to describe the dim sum menu to me with remarkable patience, and everything I had was fresh and excellent. The pork bao is the best I have ever had. I was in town for a work conference and the combination of the atmosphere and the service I received made it my favorite new restaurant. I would happily make the hour drive to experience this level of quality again. This is a family business that has obviously been curated over multiple generations, so don’t waste your money on Applebee’s.

Simply some of the best Chinese food I have ever had. Friendly attentive staff, very traditional Chinese decor. The crab rangoons are to die for. Everything is homemade and fresh. The table mustard is amazing. Unfortunately I am just traveling from out of town or I would be a regular here. You cannot go wrong eating there.

Being an STL native I am blessed to have amazing dim sum at home. I was certainly not let down when dining at Grand Oriental. The atmosphere, service, Food, dim sum, menu, and tea was all perfect. We never had to wait for a cart despite being busy for dim sum. The servers were attentive and very kind. My daughter loves dim sum and we love authentic Chinese cuisine. Whenever we find a spot that caters to this taste, we show them love! We will be back when we come back to the area!

Update: I came here a lot now. The food reminds me of home. Last time, I had the Beef Stew. It was very delish. (See picture)

Being from Honolulu, Hawaii, it's hard to find good asian food in Cincinnati area. But this place is super good. I've tried their dimsum (see pictures). They're not the best I had, but they were delicious. Also I had their Yeung Chow fried rice, wonton soup and they're super delicious. The place is clean, owners are very friendly and always walked around to check on us. We had small talks which rarely happened in any chinese restaurants. Definitely I'll bring more friends and family here.

My first time to Cincinnati and I found this delicious food. Dim Sum has always been my favorite and this place did not disappoint. The food is fresh, hot and delicious. Tastes authentic like I had in Hong Kong. The atmosphere is nice and clean, open and airy.
The staff I encountered were all very warm and welcoming. It is nice when the staff takes time to interact. I will definitely visit Grand Oriental again. A+ for food and staff.
