Nate was a great guy to work with and very helpful through the process. First time dealing with hail damage so lots of unknowns of the process but Nate make it easy and straightforward. The crew was a great bunch and they were able to complete the roof in a day! It looks stellar and we are very happy with the results! I have suggested them to others who have asked for a good roofing and siding contractor.

18 days after we moved into our dream home, a hail storm destroyed the outside. We contacted Recon for a consultation and were paired up with Tyler Miller. The insurance company was nothing but a hassle and the weather threw us a few delays, but all the repairs were finally complete about 7 months later. The transformation is just insane and we're so happy with how it all came together. I have to give a major shout out to Tyler for putting up with my endless questions and requests, his communication throughout the process was top notch and we greatly appreciated it.

After an afternoon of 45 mph winds, we had several shingles lift up on the ridge of our home. We needed repair help quickly as rain was predicted the very next day. We contacted Recon Roofing & Construction in Hiawatha and talked to Randy. He sent Thomas K. out right away. Thomas went on the roof and took pictures and assessed the situation for us. He then fixed the shingles, going over and above in making sure that everything was secure. We were so thankful for Recon's quick response. We would especially like to compliment Thomas K. for his professionalism, attention to detail, knowledge and work ethic. He was truly exceptional and we will certainly use Recon Roofing & Construction in the future.

Miles was very knowledgeable and could provide top-notch service for the roof repairs we needed for our garage. We received a full inspection review, with an attached plan and costs to get our roof back in working order.

My Fiance and I have used Recon twice now, gutters work on our first home in Marion and now at our new home in Cedar Rapids. Thomas is not only communicative but also understanding when as a home owner we need and want things to be and look a certain way. He also doesn’t hesitate to get things fixed that went wrong.
I will continue to use them for future projects and highly recommend them to anyone who needs various things done within their scope of work.

Our home required a new roof and full siding after storms last year and Recon was excellent to work with. We cannot say enough kind words about Thomas Kesten and are so grateful for his guidance throughout our project. From the beginning dealing with our insurance, supply issues and ultimately weather delays His professionalism, patience, communication and kindness were above and beyond. The crews working on our home were professional and efficient and while a project this big is not without its hiccups here and there, everyone was quick to step up and remedy any issues that came about. I had an ice dam years ago and it caused damage. Requiring replacement of siding and roof shingles. I had a hard time getting other contractors to return my calls because nobody likes to do small jobs like that. Recon came right away gave me a very fair price and performed the job flawlessly five star review, I will use them again

Recon did a fabulous job on our roof. We were on a tight timeline with an insurance claim, but Thomas made it happen before the deadline. He was quick and responsive and did a great job explaining options and communicating with our insurance company. The crew worked fast and finished sooner that expected, and Thomas came out the next day to check the quality and finish up our paperwork. Dan from Recon was prompt, professional, and easy to work with. In fact the whole Recon team was great. We needed siding replaced. Dan and Recon worked with our insurance company to get the OK to move ahead. The team worked up the quote, got the materials ordered and delivered, and the project underway on time. Recon did an exceptional job replacing our roof after derecho. They were quick and professional. Nate was great to work with. He was always easy to get ahold of and would respond to my calls or messages right away. We have a flat roof which a lot of other companies were not familiar with. These guys were great! I had storm damage to my entire house from the roof , siding and gutters. I contacted three companies to stop by and look at the damage. Recon was great to work with in updating our outdoor space. We had a 4 seasons room that was sinking and leaking heating/cooling like none other. We had Nate come out and talk about options with us. We went with completely tearing the room off, sealing the entrance points and building a deck in its place. Nate was responsive and very communicative through all stages of the remodel. We will definitely use them again!

Dan Kass, my project manager, was amazing throughout the entire process. He was patient as I couldn't make up my mind on my siding color (and provided me addresses of places they had installed those colors so I could see them in person), responsive to my annoying questions, and on-site the minute I had an "issue" or concern about something. He did a great job of managing the installation crew and ensuring the work was done to the highest standard. Once I put down the initial payment, materials and crew members were on site within a week's time. If you are wanting work done quickly, efficiently, and end up with a beautiful finished product, go with Recon. You will not get a project manager that comes to your door trying to upsell you convince you that you need something that you don't want. They will listen, respond, and deliver!

Thomas Kesten (project manager) is awesome to work with. The whole Recon team did a fantastic job with my personal storm claim. They also did a fantastic job with communication and repair work for my clients after a recent storm - highly recommended.

My husband and I used Recon for exterior projects after a hail and wind storm. They replaced our roof, fascia, gutters, skylight window, siding, porch columns, front door, and added exterior stone. We worked with Thomas. He did a phenomenal job! Not only regarding the actual work completed, but the behind-the-scenes work interacting with our insurance company. We were so impressed with the job that I hired them for a client who was still dealing with Derecho damage 3 years after the fact!

There was a drywall project that needed done before I moved into a house. Nate Yelton was able to meet, get me an estimate, and get the work completed within the necessary time frame. He was professional and personable to work with. The finished job looked great and Recon will be my first choice on any home project from now on!
