Brenda H. was our server today and she was awesome! Excellent customer service and made us feel so welcome! The food was also incredible! Would recommend this place to anyone looking for a cute and friendly breakfast, lunch, or even dinner spot!

A highlight of Texas. Traditional American dishes with large portions. The chicken fried steak with gravy was amazing and the Saturday prime rib was very tender. The cinnamon roll French toast had a texture that was a little too doughy/starchy for my preference but was still good. Everything is reasonably priced, beautifully-presented, and tasty. The service was decent and food came out fast. I also enjoyed the black bear-themed decor and western theme (bear cubs painting, country music, rainbow jukebox, “who let the bears out?” sign). Just reading the newspaper gazette-style menu with a huge selection of omelettes, sausages, eggs, burgers, ribs, etc made me happy. So glad I found this place!

My Server Jayden is Amazing. She has the Best Personality and Excellent Customer Service. The Food is Fantastic. The Service is very Professional and exceptionally fast. The atmosphere is Tremendous. I enjoyed every minute of my meal.

I had the pleasure of dining at Black Bear Cafe recently, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish.

What truly stood out during my visit was the service. From the moment I walked in, the staff was friendly and attentive. My server Regena was knowledgeable about the menu and made excellent recommendations. She checked in frequently, ensuring my cup of coffee was never empty and that I was enjoying my meal.
Definitely coming back!!!

After driving early morning hours on the road on I-10 , this spot was open at 6am and the fresh squeezed OJ with a meat lovers omelet with grits and an English muffin was a great way to refuel for the morning before I finish my road trip. Kyana W provided great service.

We have a very delicious Christmas breakfast 😋 ! Our plates were abundant of yummy food. I ordered the Joe omelet with French toast. Our server was very courteous and helpful. She recommended trying the Momma Bear Burning Sauce, and let me tell you, it is delicious, not too spicy but perfect to add to my omelet. Great service and yummy food.

Just had breakfast there 08/02/2024. What a pleasure to see how well this staff worked together. Everyone was pleasant and I could see if one was busy another one of the staff would serve her table. By doing this they never let the order sit long. Thanks Brenda! She was cheerful and attentive. But so were the other members of the team. Even smiling and grinning when talking to each other! The manger was on top of it all, checking on orders, cheerful engaging with the back of house, serving tables when need and even jumping on a register. And all times pleasant with his team! I can’t speak for other shifts but the one this morning was the “A” team They can run my restaurant anytime! Cheers

Great food and experience! I had the massive Bob’s Burger Deluxe Style (with bacon). I also had a side of coleslaw and a side salad. The coleslaw was heavy on vinegar, which gave a nice bite to balance the richness of burger. Servers were friendly and prompt. Restaurant was clean and decorated with much character. I would go back for more!

Friendly staff, large plates, tasty food. When we went (5 adult 2 kids) they must've been understaffed as they said we had a 35 min wait but the entire right side of the dining area was empty. Everything went well once seated, although they should make + serve the kids' meals prior to adults (iykyk). Plenty of parking, nice wood carvings in front of the resto + inside, and the kids loved dancing to the jukebox.

Seated and served immediately on a Saturday morning! Tracy was very friendly and eager to confirm our order was perfect! First time to Black Bear Diner and we will be back! Great coffee and sweet cream pancakes!

Regina was absolutely awesome! My daughter had a complete meltdown when we first got there and she helped calm her down! She was attentive and kind. Thank you to this wonderful woman 💕

We had a great experience at this diner. The staff was very friendly! Brenda, our server, was very kind, upbeat, & provided hot food and kept our drinks full! Highly recommend if you are in the Katy area!!

Great place to grab breakfast with the family! Food was tasty and service really friendly! They have healthier options and substitutes!

Try to plan ahead and get they earlier than you expect to be eating because waiting can be around an hour during the weekend.

Maddi W was such a great server. We had a big party of 15 and she welcomed us with a smile. We are visiting from out of town but will definitely return when we come back and hope to see Maddie again! The first server was rude and slammed our utensils on the table but Maddie W was extraordinary and made the experience great with her awesome customer service, patience, and attentiveness. The food was absolutely delicious, I had the mini volcano and it was plenty, highly recommend. Thank you Maddie W! We appreciate you!

Maddi W was awesome! Maddi will be the reason we will return when we visit again. Our party was large, but Maddi's customer service was superb. Young lady at the register when we arrived was unpleasant. The young lady at the register upon us sitting was slamming our utensils on the table as if she didn't want to be bothered with us. Kudos to Maddi. The food was absolutely great! I had the Volcano and it was delicious! Definitely recommend!

Food was great as usual! Regina our server was 5 star. My wife and I have been there several times for B-fast, but never received such exceptional service like we received today. Thanks Regina we will be back soon!

Our server, Brenda, was fantastic!! She made us feel welcome before we even sat down. She was so informative and made sure we knew all our options and then some. She also has the best pins on her lanyard!

We knew we were in for a big breakfast. But the plate sizes still blew us away. We tried our best, but there was still some left over sadly. Since we were traveling, we had to leave it behind.

I loved all the attention to detail!! They definitely followed the Black Bear theme. It was awesome. I even loved the newspaper menu. It was so fun!

Every bite was just *happy food dance*. Amazing. Delicious. Crazy. Good.

We ordered so much food. And nothing was bad. Nothing was just meh. It was all mind blowing.

My favorite breakfast food is corned beef hash. Theirs was amazing.

The biscuits are crazy good. They had a special, chicken pot pie, where they put these flaky biscuits on top. So good.

The sweet cream pancakes were so good you didn’t even need syrup. Fluffy and moist and decadent.

Put this on your places to stop by in Katy. You won’t regret it. Just be prepared to roll out of there.
