I have been camping here since I was a kid in the 1960s. The loops are laid out for a private, peaceful spot in the pines. It is a beautiful area, of course & the campground works with that. For big rigs that need a generator loop, reserve EARLY. If you are boondocking, you should enjoy this campground. Colter Bay is one of the most convenient locations for grocery, deli, restaurants, laundry & showers.

We really enjoyed staying here! Our camp site was easy to access with our 30 foot camper trailer. Lots of trees around and the camp hosts were friendly. Some sites have partial hookups so pay close attention to which one you book. There are a few sewer dump stations available as you exit the campground, which is convenient! Be aware that since the campground is within Teton NP, you have to pay the national park entrance fee of $35, plus an additional $35 if you want to enter Yellowstone. It was worth it for us to get the $80 annual pass.

A beautiful, large, well maintained campground that is only about 500 yards from the lake. Employees are polite and very helpful. Restaurant, gift shop, visitors center all within walking distance.

Great location. We stayed one night. Showers and laundry at the central location near shops and amenities. Beautiful trees and of course Jackson Lake and the Tetons.

We really loved this campground! There are bear boxes, bathrooms, laundry facilities, gift shops, gas station, stores selling anything you may have forgotten or failed to foresee etc. We didn’t have the chance to see everything the campground offered but we would love to visit again. Also, it’s pet friendly though we boarded our girl since we wanted to go to the national parks. It’s in great proximity to the parks and a lake with rentals! It’s very quiet at night which is great as well!

Well run campground. If you’re not big on wanting to have animals around your tent, this is one of the better campgrounds to go to. The showers were clean and easy to use their coin system. For the campsites, the new bear boxes they put in are spacious and can fit several large coolers.

My experience at Colter Bay Campground was nothing short of fantastic! I went tent camping in May, just as the campground was opening for the season. Despite the cool weather, the campground provided everything I needed for a comfortable stay.

Each campsite includes a fire pit, picnic table, and bear box, which made cooking and storing food easy and convenient. The proximity to the bathrooms was a plus—they were old but impeccably clean and well-maintained, ensuring a pleasant experience.

The campground is dog-friendly, allowing me to bring along my furry companion for the adventure. Additionally, the campground's proximity to the general store was convenient—I could easily access groceries, firewood, and even browse the gift shop for souvenirs.

Overall, Colter Bay Campground exceeded my expectations. From the well-equipped campsites to the friendly atmosphere and convenient amenities, it's the perfect base for exploring the beautiful surroundings of Grand Teton National Park. I can't wait to return!

Beautiful, quiet campground with awesome access to lots of hiking and lakes. The campground has a little grocery store nesrby, pay showers and a laundromat. We were in a generator-free loop which was nice and checking was super fast and easy. 10/10 would camp there again!

We reserved a cabin like setup with four bunk beds with two soft walls and windows. It had a picnic table and a fire pit outside.
There were showers about five minutes away and restrooms a minute away. Great value and worth it to book ahead of time.

One of our new favorite campgrounds! Tent sites, despite there being tons of them, felt secluded. Bathrooms were clean(running water!) WiFi at the general store and restaurant was very helpful for planning our next move. The picnic area and swim beach was our favorite part. Stunning views of the Tetons.

I really liked this campground and felt very comfortable. Just get the generator free loops! Also everything is close by which is great.

First time staying in the tent cabins. Grandkids and grandparents loved it. Just the right mix of comfort and rustic experience for young adults. Beach good, amenities good....even the gift shop was good!

Great campground if you can get a spot. Bathroom were clean and always had paper. A short walk to the shower house. The spots are really close together, but it's to be expected in a National park. Easy and friendly checkin.

We had a great time camping at Colter Bay. We reserved a spot in the D loop which was a super short walk to Jackson Lake beach which had incredible views of the Grand Tetons. The kids enjoyed swimming - would recommend: water shoes and inflatables. If you’re an early riser you can claim a picnic table near the beach (no view) where you can grill out and set up corn hole.

We stayed at site A8. There was a bathroom w flush toilets in our loop, drinking water nearby, and a bear box in our camp site. The site was pretty quiet although it is adjacent to a park road. It was also walking distance to Colter Bay Village (laundry/shower/grocery) and to the swim area of the lake. I wish we could have stayed longer!

Great experience. Stayed in 329O which was great. Quiet campground and beautiful sites. You park near the road but the site goes well into the woods. Easy check in and great walk to the water. The village has a grocery store, laundry and shower house. Super convenient.

We tent camped in Loop E and it was perfect! Only a few tent sites in the loop, no generators, quiet and spacious with picnic table, bear box and fire ring, flush bathroom, place to dump dishwater and a water spigot with potable water. Just a short walk from our campsite were the day use and beach areas with AMAZING views, as well as the amphitheather where ranger programs were held. Up the road was a launderette and shower facilities, a general store, restaurant with bar and NPS visitor center. FYI- showers are 4.50. We can't wait to come back.

Great camping spot in the area! You can access beach from most of the sites, there are trails to get to the beach. Showers cost extra $5 per person.

Loved our stay at this campground! It’s first come first serve so keep in mind you can’t do reservations ahead of time unless you’re staying in the rv park. We arrived 830AM on Saturday of Labor Day weekend (I highly recommend arriving earlier on holidays) and we waited in line 2 hours, we were one of the last few cars to be guaranteed a spot for the weekend. This is where we wanted to stay so in our case the wait was worth it. Our campsite was clean and comfortable, came with a bear box, picnic table and fire pit. The bathrooms were very close to our campsite and were clean. There was a designated spot near the bathroom to wash dishes. The campsites are close together so you can hear your neighbors but you’re not crowded on top of each other. There’s lots of trees and foliage surrounding the campgrounds. We stayed in the “F” section and felt that we were very close to the entrance of the campgrounds, the lake, general stores and everything else which was nice. The employees that checked us in were so friendly and made the long wait to get in bearable. We would love to stay here again next time we’re in the park!

We were here before it became a reservation only campground and everyone who worked there was very friendly and helpful with all our questions and concerns. Campground is very clean and each site has a bear locker to keep your food and scented items safely secured. There is a gas station near entrance which had gas cheaper than in nearby Jackson as well as a small store to buy firewood, food and even get a shower. Restaurant was on site but a bit spendy. If you have a national park passport you can get your stamps here for Teton and Rockefeller. Access to lake for water sports and swimming. This is the only campground we'll stay at in the future when visiting the Grand Tetons or jackson hole. Stayed here for 2 weeks and spent time at Yellowstone as well. Bathrooms were very clean and well maintained.
