Mountain Dog Coffee

Beautiful coffee shop right off of the main road! There is plenty of seating, a dog park, food, coffee, little gifts, and more! Everybody was so friendly and I love that there was both indoor and outdoor seating. If you love plants, there are plenty of those inside as well. I can’t wait to bring my dogs here!

10/10 recommend for dog parents! This place was absolutely perfect, and the employees we met there were the kindest and most helpful humans I’ve ever met! Our dog Hazel made so many friends there, and had the best time-what better combination is there than coffee and a beautiful little dog park?! I also really appreciate their thorough process in registering your dog and getting a bandana to indicate they are approved, as this really gave us comfort about the pups there. (We’re largely not dog park people due to some negative experiences) one of the kind employees saw our dog was skiddish with new humans and even offered to walk her out to the park and spent a moment gaining her trust!

I came here with my friends and it was the perfect place to hangout and have a little drink! The lady working literally made it seem like my grandmother was making me a coffee and a little sweet treat. They were all so nice and the atmosphere was unreal, super open, felt like you were outdoors and with nature! Totally should go check em out. Also super cool art pieces hanging all around the building!

This has been such a welcome addition to our little town of Foscoe! We live just a few minutes away and come daily, sometimes twice a day! The coffee is lovely, and they have ice cream too! The food is fantastic, which is wonderful - to have a little cafe with great food nearby so we don't have to go all the way to town is so nice! The dog park is well-managed and the vibe to be aware of your dog and hold yourselves accountable for their behavior is better than any park I've ever been to. In fact, we have avoided dog parks historically because of that, and this is the first one we have ever truly enjoyed. So happy to have Teddy's spot in our sweet little hometown!

I was in a hurry and was able to get a quick cup of delicious coffee. The baked goods looked great and the menu had bagels and lox on it! I am looking forward to stopping by for breakfast. Great atmosphere.

This was an amazing find on our last trip to Boone/Grandfather Mtn. I always try to go to local coffee shops when we travel. This one has taken a spot in my top three (edited to add: my top three are all in different cities. But there are only three "must-do" places for me and this is one of them). The coffee itself was VERY good. Some coffee shops try to make fancy drinks with syrups and flavoring, but the base of coffee doesn't seem to be a high quality. Not here. The coffee is incredible.

I also had the avocado toast, with egg on top. I had marginal expectations but it was AMAZING. The eggs were perfectly cooked. The avocado was fresh. The toast was perfect. The seasoning - just right. My daughter had a croissant with...egg, cheese and maybe bacon? It was also done perfectly.

The service was wonderful and the people were friendly. The shop itself is well-done with beautiful, varied art on the walls and real plates to eat from. I was very impressed. This will be a must anytime we're in the area.

What a beautiful coffee shop inside & out! My dogs enjoyed the huge dog park and I enjoyed the chai latte- everything was perfect! All the employees I talked to on the phone and in person were delightful & helpful and I even got to meet the owner and tell her what a beautiful place she has created. We will be back!

Daughter got a Chai Tea Latte with caramel and a Nutella croissant. Loved them. I got the avocado toast, wished it was a larger serving for the price. But very good. Dog lot next door. Had our dog in the car, but you really need to fill out form prior as they need rabies info and such. They have a monthly fee of $18 for your dog. Wish they had some sort of punch card so you could pay a set fee and then punch it each time you bring your dog for people that aren't up there for an entire month. With all of the visitors to the area that would be a nice option. Drive thru is available. Loved seeing the lot full for this new business and great addition to the High Country.

First time visiting Mountain Dog and it is AMAZING!! The coffee and staff were great, and what really made me want to stay was the atmosphere. A very cozy place on a rainy day, open, and inviting. I wish I could have stayed all day!

We are so happy to have this new coffee shop here in the area! We visited on a Friday morning and were able to work on our laptops for a while and enjoy our coffees, we love that they have such a large outdoor space and have a play area for dogs! We will be there often in the summer. The staff was great, and it’s comfortable and cozy but still light and airy inside. One thing we noticed is that the music they were playing was so nice! It was such a nice change from “coffeehouse music” to something that was instrumental and perfect. Can’t wait to visit again!

I just love this mountain gem! This coffee shop is beautifully decorated, with good prices and delicious food. My partner and I stopped for breakfast last week, and shared a Ham and Cheese croissant and an Asiago bagel! I recently returned for coffee with a friend and loved my cinnamon bun latte.
I am so impressed with the beautiful decor and the thoughtful attention to detail. And don't forget, bring your mountain dog to play in the large dog park outside!

We happened upon this great coffee shop while out riding our motorcycle. We were "lost" on our ride, and when we turned a corner, there it was. So, we just had to stop because we love little coffee shops. This place was actually not little. It was very spacious with wonderful decor', super friendly employees, a great place for dogs to roam outside, and wonderful outdoor seating for the warmer days.

They had a wide selection of wonderful sugary treats to go along with a wide selection of drinks! My mocha latte was fantastic, too!! We will make that place a part of our normal stops when we are out riding our motorcycle in that area! We love it. My wife even commented that it's her new favorite coffee shop!!

I love the chai latte. The coffee is fabulous. The walnut cake is exquisite. The New York bagels are the best I ever had. The atmosphere is beautiful with a neat blend of textures and lighting. The outdoor space is lovely for both people and dogs. The staff are all kind, friendly people. I could go on, but definitely go experience this for yourselves!

Amazing vibes, great coffee and snacks, outstanding interior design, fun dog park. Perfectly in between Boone and Banner Elk. We came in the spring and the weather was perfect for our dogs. Suggestion for future customers, register your dog ahead of time.

For reference, it is on the way to sugar mountain and beech mountain, and has a drive thru coffee lane for those in a scurry!

First time and all I can say is WELL DONE! From the details put into the decor, the comfortable home but hip atmosphere to the excellent staff and last but not least can’t say enough about the quality, taste and presentation of food. This is a must see and plan on making this an everyday stop for me.

Great atmosphere and the attached dog park is a very cool idea. Will be stopping by often when we come up to our place in the area. If you live locally and have a dog, you should definitely check it out and become a regular!

Great place to take your dog and get a treat for yourself. The dog park is amazing, with lots of fun obstacles to entertain your fur baby. The fence is at least 5 feet high, so great for any size dogs.

Wow, Mountain Dog Coffee nailed it. Amazing atmosphere (your dog can play while you drink coffee!). Wonderful food, I had a Nuetella croissant that was super fresh. The barista on Sat am made my sister a wonderful Latte and I had a delicious brew. Such community spirit. Local artist can sell their wares, lots of locals getting a little work done or having a meeting. The building is beautiful. I will be back as often as they will let me!
