Baxter's Lakeside Grille

Beautiful atmosphere. Service a little slow during busy hours but still good. For appetizers we had the crab cakes (highly recommend!), and spinach artichoke dip. For dinner we had the filet with blue cheese, potatoes and green beans, the braised short ribs, and the salmon special with shrimp and potatoes. Whoa! SOOO MUCH FOOD!! Everything was absolutely wonderful! If you want a table with a view, I highly recommend having a reservation because they go very quickly!

Love love love this place!! Usually a stickler for fancy, upscale places, but this place takes the cake!!! The food here is definetly expensive, but it is all worth it. Huge portion sizes, beautiful presentation, and all around fresh good tasting food. Make sure to leave room for dessert!!!

We visited Baxters on a Tuesday evening around 6. We made a reservation but it's not necessary. The service was good. The food was great and the serving sizes seemed fair, not like some upscale resteraunts that give you tiny samples.

I got the pasta special which had plenty of shrimp and scallions others at my table got steaks. The steaks were cooked as ordered. I upgraded to a blue cheese wedge salad which was amazing! We all got cocktails too which were strong but good.

The atmosphere was pretty loud in the main area but we ended up getting sat in a separate area which was thankfully a little quieter. All in all this place is good, a little pricey but I'd come back for a special occasion

What a great fine dining restaurant in Ozarks. Reservation highly recommended- they can easily accommodate large group in the spacious dining hall, patio. A nice view of the lake is a bonus if your dining during day. We had Janice as our sever who was fabulous! A huge menu of wine, spirits and cocktails including some interesting Martinis! We tried seared Ahi tuna, and spinach artichoke dip for apps and both were delicious. My Cedar pink salmon was very well done with a interesting kind of tangy sauce and served on a cedar wood platter. A great place for special night out if you are near Lake or Ozarks.

We tried the Carbonara, Grilled Cajun Shrimp, and the Crab Cakes. All delicious! The waiter, Matt, was really charismatic and wonderful. Consider yourself lucky to dine with his service!

We had a party of 8 for my son’s dinner and had a fantastic time! The food was amazing, service was fantastic and the view just speaks for itself!! We greatly appreciated the staff even staying later to accommodate us! Looking forward to returning again later this summer!

Awesome view and delicious lunch! The jerk chicken was a delight with fresh mangos on top. My wife raved about her salmon. We will continue to stop here on every trip to the lake.

Came to dinner on NYE for my birthday with friends. We had a table with the best views of the lake. Our waitress, Tracy was fantastic! I had the filet mignon with lobster sauce with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. They took a picture of me and my guest for my birthday and I also received a piece of cheesecake that was to die for!!

Awesome service and the Cajun chicken sandwich woooo. Hanny was the waitress and she is awesome. Tequila Mule the cherry on top…!

Wow...food was outstanding and worth the premium price. We found the service a bit lacking in polish for a fine ding restaurant.

We started with the Prosciutto Parma was a fun appetizer and was very tasty.

Baked potato soup had a nice depth of flavor and the house salad was well dressed and tasty.

Crab cakes were very good..light and somewhat flakey.

Baxters duo was worth very penny. Scallops were well seasoned and seared ro perfection. Steak was tender and spot on for the temp.

I had the special..filet with lobster ravioli with a lobster cream sauce. The cream sauce was light and balanced. The Ravioli was a slight letdown as it lacked much seasoning. Filet cooked perfectly with excellent spice.

They made very very good Old fashioned and to end the night we had cheesecake which was above average.

The view from our table by the window was very pretty and added to a great evening.

Perfect for a special date, anniversary or any celebration. Highly recommend!!

First time at Baxter’s for happy hour and it was my birthday week. The drinks and prices were awesome! Loved sitting at the bar. It’s getting dark at 5:30 pm now so no need to look out at the lake view. The appetizers on the happy hour bar menu could have been better. Nothing tasted homemade, the chicken was frozen not fresh hand breaded strips and the shrimp was not special. I wish the food had been given the same amount of care as the rest of the place.

Phenomenal cuisine for end of day business meetings. Great place to have fine dinner, drinks, and ambiance. Lake views were stunning & peaceful. Vegan menu needs a little more options.

I’ve been here twice now and I will base this review between the two visits. Lunch was delicious best salmon I’ve had in a very long time! My order was correct, my water was always filled and we had enough waitresses chipping in that I forgot which one was the actual one. Pictures below are from this visit. Second visit during dinner time was slightly less pleasing. The waiter did just fine but it seemed like they had less help & were more busy. I ordered the same meal as I did for the lunch except they forgot the Cajun seasoning at first & when the waiter noticed he brought me a new dish without me really saying much. The downfall is that he took the food I had in front of me which I understand but then I had to sit there hungry and when the food came it wasn’t as good as the previous visit. We did try two different deserts this trip and both were very good so you can’t go wrong there! My husband had steak which he requested Cajun rub and it was barely existent. I think the cooks were maybe just rushed or a different person was leading the dinner crew. The price point is Fantastic for the quality of food. We plan to return many more times. Only giving 4 stars due to consistency of service and quality of food being different from lunch to dinner.

Edited to add: trip 3- busy holiday weekend and dinner was great! We haven’t tried anything here we didn’t like. It’s becoming one of our favorite places to dine. We’ve tried all of the desserts now and they’re all good! Drinks are good! Steak, Ahi, and salmon all good! Shrimp and scallops are also very good. We took our kids and they loved it as well!

Trip 4 &5- we’re addicted lol
Busy day after Valentine’s Day reservation- only complaint is that I ran out of water and it didn’t get refilled within a reasonable amount of time. I made her get me a to-go cup before I left though to make up for it 😁

I went here with my wife and extended family. Delicious food everywhere! I don't think there is a bad thing in the menu but the filet was hand down best steak. The views are excellent, as well.

Just had an excellence experience today with my family. We were seated promptly with our reservation and our waiter was so great. He asked if we wanted our toddlers food brought out first which was a great idea to give him food while we waited on our soup and salad. The food was plated beautifully and tasted as good as it looked. I had a filet while my husband had the halibut. Our cocktails were also made well. For a more upscale feel I love how accommodating they were for a family with a small child. What a wonderful meal that we are still talking about over an hour after we ate it!

Our server took great care in every aspect of our dinner experience.
We did the full experience of drinks, appetizers and entre, but just couldn't add desert.
And we were fortunate to even have a great sunset to top it all off.

First of all - outstanding service! We have made a reservation week before Labor Day weekend for 4 people but requested to be seated close to our friends, party of 7. Day before our dinner we get a call, confirming our reservation and apologizing in case they can’t accommodate our request. When we all arrived, our tables were next to each other and with great views. Thank you for allowing us making kids table for our 5 kids and enjoying delicious dinner. From large shrimp cocktail to potato soup and sea bass - everything was perfectly prepared. And you must try gooey butter cake!

The steak and artichoke dip are delicious! Our waiter was really attentive and we didn’t have to wait very long for our food. The location is really nice. You can sit outside and have a really good view of the lake while you eat. Definitely my favorite place to eat at in the Ozarks!

Had a blast at Baxter's today. Server Hanni (we loved her) went out of her way to be nice to my three year old. We had a corner window seat and could see the Lake beautifully! The bathroom was a dream, automatically flushing toilets but also mouthwash and lotion offered. Food was delicious, from calamari appetizer, Caesar salad, BLTC, and chocolate cheesecake. Kid's menu comes with ice cream.

Me and my girlfriend had a great time here and it was one of the highlights of our trip. Food was incredible, great cocktails, beautiful views and very friendly staff. I would recommend this place.
