I love this little shop. The are different sections of items crafted by different local artists. Too cool. They have clothing, jewelry, and accessories like steam punk scissors or necklaces.
Staff is super friendly and would love you to come in and just browse.

I had an amazing experience purchasing my first corset from here. The employees were extremely helpful and went above and beyond to make sure I understood how to wear and care for my product. The store is beautiful with a variety of amazing original products that you can't find anywhere else! I am new to corsets/costuming, they taught me techniques for lacing and wearing a corset properly and offered any help in the future that I will need. The corset I purchased is of the highest quality and so beautiful! I highly recommend!

I love everything about this store! C.C. makes the most beautiful and individualistic pieces a person can find. Everything she makes is top quality and so much fun to wear, everyday or for cosplay. All colors, shapes, sizes of sweater coats or hats and even corsets and kilts. Even if Steampunk or Renaissance fairs aren't your style, she has a little something for everyone. I even had her make a green sweatercoat for my mom. Worth the stop!

My husband and I drove 6 hours to Springfield, MO so we could visit with C.C. and buy more of her wonderful stuff! I purchased a Harley Quinn corset and neck piece earlier this year and we had to go see her to get more!
My husband is now tricked out with a full steampunk outfit from A Wench in the Gear from hat to kilt. C.C. even found me a tiny top hat to add to my Harley Quinn outfit in the future :)

I bought a kilt from the wench, don't call it a skirt in front of Miss CC, she does have a crop. It was a great experience. She helped me find the right fit for me. Has some amazing custom work as well. I'd suggest her to anyone. YOU'RE WELCOME?

A Wench in the Gear has reopened and is ready to rock. I went in on their first day and there was a good variety of hats, which is important to me. Some fit better than others, but I was able to find a perfect match in terms of aesthetic and size. The proprietors are fantastic and C.C. goes out of her way to hook you up with things you'll want to wear all the time.

I am so glad I found her at the Ren fest. I have 3 bulging disc in my spine two of which caused my right arm to mess up start going numb and I couldn't hold my cellphone, till I bought an underbusts from her shop just wearing it around fest that day helped my back from ceasing and everything started getting better. I work a very manual labor job and without my "brace" I wouldn't be able to work at all. She is amazing drove 4 hours to get two more and get one custom made. Again thank you so much. I haven't needed to go to the chiropractor for anything since I found this place which I was going once a week and it only helped my lower back. Her corset helps my whole back and I am eternally grateful.

So! Ive been thinking about getting a new corset lately because I used to wear one and it helped my back. Just got me a corset from a wench in the gear and I LOVE IT!!! When I first tried it on, I felt immediately better in my lower and mid back, my back popped 4 times and started tearing up because I hadn't felt that good in a while! If you've ever worn traditional underbust corsets for long periods of time, it kinda feels like traction. Separating everything while lifting and supporting everything else. Seriously, A Wench in the Gear 213 W Commercial street, in springfield. Real leather & stainless steel craftsmanship. They sell a lot of cool steam punk stuff too. Def my new place! Thank you again, you changed my life! <3

One of my favorite stores in Springfield! The quality of her work is far beyond anything you can get anywhere else. The owner is very friendly and very willing to answer any questions. The store is very inviting. I'm always seeing something new and something I want.

I bought a corset from her about 5 years ago, unfortunately at one point a foster puppy got ahold of it and ate a couple chunks off 😢. But I saw the booth at Kansas City rennisance festival last fall and thought it wouldn’t hurt to ask if she might be able to fix it... she was so sweet and REMEMBERED ME FROM 5 YEARS AGO! And after I failed to send it to her for 6 months she finally got it in her magic hands and completely fixed it 😁😁😁! It is a beautiful corset and I am so excited she was able to bring it back to life for me!

Trust me, this place is worth it! Give them all your business!

Thank you!!

Such a cool store, perfect for the geek like me. I live how she repurposes materials to make her stuff. I bought a mask but I'll definitely be coming back for her beautiful clothes!
