This store is great, a lof of options to Shop, food, drinks, a great coffee station, bread, clothes, toys, gifts and more.
The place was full of people, restrooms were clean, I like the kind of people in here, nice middle class people.
Not to many pumps, however enought for all of us, the parking was small too, but all the people were happy!
I shopped 2 toys and some candies, I paid $17, not to bad!

This is a great stop between Austin and Houston. The food is the highlight, especially the kolaches and pastries. The crust on the turnovers is especially light and flaky.

They also have a range of gifts and plenty of snacks and drinks for the road. Bathrooms were clean and spacious.

There is a gas station next door.

A great kolache restaurant in the middle of nowhere, between Houston and Austin. An institution and treat if you happen to be in the areas. Highly recommend to heat up the food before eating.

Traditional Czech Koláče in the middle of Texas? Yes, please! While the fillings were a tad sweeter than we would have liked or expectex, we reckon that's just what Americans are used to. They were still super delicious and the dough was amazing. It was great to find prune (povidlovy) kolache as well!

We always stop here when we're on the way to just about anywhere else. The kolaches are divine. They also make good gifts for whoever you're on the way to go see. Lots of other goodies to choose from too, but you've GOT to get a kolache while you're here. It's fast and easy to navigate in and out. Nice clean restrooms too.

Fresh kolaches. The cottage cheese and cream cheese were great! Also tried peach and pineapple kolaches. You can also buy preserves and beef jerky while you're there. There's even a sitting area with tables and chairs if you need to sit and enjoy a coffee and kolache. The café de olla was especially tasty. Always stop there when I pass by Ellinger.

This is such a cozy place between austin and Houston.we got mushroom kolache, cream cheese kolache and banana nut bread. The mushroom kolache was our favorite!! Don’t miss this one. I heard they run out of the savory items before afternoon.

What a great stop to make along your way. They have amazing service and not to mention the variety they have. No matter what you are looking for they have it.

And the burgers are better than any Whataburger you will find!!

Yesterday, my family and I had the pleasure of experiencing the Hill Country kolache at Hruska's Store & Bakery in Ellinger, Tx. As avid fans of the restaurant's kolaches, we were eager to try their latest offerings and to savor the great atmosphere and service that Hruska's is known for.

We arrived at Hruska's just as the lunch rush was beginning, but we were quickly seated. The restaurant was bustling with activity, but the staff remained calm and efficient. We ordered a variety of kolaches, including the sausage and cheese and fruit kolaches to share.

Our kolaches arrived fresh from the oven and were still warm to the touch. The dough was light and fluffy, and the fillings were generous and flavorful. The sausage and cheese kolache was a classic, with a perfectly seasoned sausage filling and a generous amount of melted cheese. The poppy seed kolache was sweet and nutty, and the fruit kolache was bursting with fresh berries.

After lunch, we took some time to browse the bakery section of Hruska's. We were amazed by the wide variety of pastries and baked goods that were available. We purchased a few items to take home, including a loaf of Czech bread and a dozen cookies.

Overall, we had an excellent experience at Hruska's Store & Bakery. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was outstanding. We highly recommend Hruska's to anyone looking for a truly authentic Hill Country kolache experience.

I love this spot, they have the best kolache’s with the sausage link inside. We have tried the kolaches, the tuna sandwich, the turkey sandwich, the ham sandwich, the double meat hamburger, which is amazingly big and delicious, and most of the confections there as well. Everything here is fresh and delicious. This place has it all and the food is delicious. I also love the shopping experiences as they have clothing and toiletries. The staff there is amazing. The chickens and roosters Love it too!

If you're cruising at 80 mph on 71 and see 55mph speed limit signs, that's a likely signal to look for Hruska's. It used to be a relatively simple diner and general store, but their expanded their food offerings, their bathroom capacity, and their general store options. Think of it as a smaller and less crazy version of Bucky's with slightly better prizes. Come to think of it, I was in a rush, so I bought some snacks to go after using the clean restroom, so I don't even know if they have sit-down dining anymore. I guess I'll have to leave it to others to report on that.

I've been stopping here on my way to and from Austin (coming from Houston) since 2009. The kolaches are still fantastic, the bathrooms are always clean, and the burgers are actually great! This is my favorite stopping point to get some kolaches for family/friends, stretch, and refuel!

My go to place to buy kolaches on the way to Houston or Austin if taking 71. Delicious fruit and meat flavors. Other bakery items available as well. Normal convenience store items as well (soda, chips, snacks, candy) but sure extra items like clothes, toys, novelties. Very clean bathrooms.

Hruska’s is love. This place has been our go-to for the Austin-Houston road tips for 20+ years. Expect great baked goods (we’re trying the Ranger and Raspberry cookies today) including classic kolaches.
