We have sometimes browsed Freehand Market and have purchased some lovely household items and gifts, but I never paid much attention to the refill station at the back of the store. My mistake! They offer jars, or you can bring your own. And they have all the more natural type basics you need for soap, personal care, and household care. I am thrilled to have a great, local option for this stuff. 100% would rather spend here than an amazon affiliate or other big corporate business, buying stuff we need produced by smaller businesses.

My favorite place in North Carolina to shop local, homemade, sustainable and environmentally-friendly goods! The owner, Heather, is amazing and so kind. She truly cares about the products she sells and I feel comfortable buying anything there without doing prior research because I know she has already. The products are clearly labeled with categories like women-owned, local, etc. making my purchases that much easier. This shop is my go to for unique gifts and treat yo self gifts to me. I love the bulk refills and all the local soaps and candles. It makes eco-friendly living so easy!
Above all, Heather really cares about this community and her customers. She has COVID-19 policies that are easy to follow, like wearing a mask while inside. Just like the rest of the Saxapahaw village and current orders in N.C. And she’s been super accommodating with curbside pickup and deliveries. I can’t recommend this place enough!

I’ve been here twice so far, and I have had such a lovely experience! The store is beautiful, the products are gorgeous and the owner is such a lovely person! I’ve had a few conversations with her about products to buy for switching to a zero waste lifestyle- the refillable shampoo and conditioner are both amazing! The bulk bar is really helpful since where I live doesn’t have one yet. I love making it a day trip with my partner to visit Saxapahaw and the Freehand Market!

Love this little place! I've picked up some gifts a couple of times (pre-pandemic) and have also ordered from their store online for some friends. The staff members are always helpful and there are such thoughtful touches throughout the store. I love that they deliver and carry local goods.

The perfect place when you need a gift for a friend or for yourself, or if you're looking to make your home more environmentally friendly. Heather, the owner/operator, is extremely conscious about sustainability and supporting small makers. It has a refill station for soap, dish detergent, hair and body products, etc. You can also have items shipped or order curbside pickup via the website. Highly recommend!

I love everything they carry and am thankful that they are enforcing mask procedures for their safety and the safety of others. It makes me more likely to shop there knowing that it’s safer! Btw the candles smell so good that I can smell them through my mask ;)

My favorite place to get handmade and local stuff! Cards, candles, zero-waste soap refills, crystals, stained glass suncatchers, decor items. The owner is sweet and the shop is absolutely charming. Well worth a stop to look around!

Freehand is a beautiful collection of exquisite, sustainable products curated and run by Heather (who is the best of the best). Being in NYC, we take advantage of the fast USPS shipping Freehand provides and getting packages from Heather is like opening up a small treasure. 10/10, highly recommend spending some time perusing the in-person and/or online store.

I was looking for Christmas gifts for a friend but instead bought some great face products for myself, oops! I received great customer service and advice as well. I live about an hour away but will be back.

Love how much care this store gives to sourcing sustainable and local products! My wife has a compromised immune system and this is one of the few stores we feel completely comfortable going to during covid.
