One of the most beautiful places I've visited. Store is cute and has hiking gear if needed. There is also a cool tree outside where hikers of the past come and hang their boots it was really neat.

This is a great stop that's right on the Appalachian Trail. It's a service point for hikers on the trail and has showers, equipment, food, supplies and a wonderful overall vibe. From the wind chimes in the big front tree to the used hiker boots decorating the canopy of the forest, it's a peaceful inclusion to the serene backdrop of nature.

This place is an Oasis for Appalachian trail hikers to restock and refresh. They have almost everything a hiker might need and more. Very cool place to meet people from all over the country attempting the hike.

Almost every weekend, there is additional sales going on.

This is one of our must stop destinations when we are visiting the Blood Mountain area! Love interacting with hikers taking a break from the Appalachian Trail and the store has tons of hiking gear and various other goods available. The stone lookout point is beautiful and just overall a fun place to visit.

If you’re looking for some great outdoor gear — head on over to Mountain Crossings. Awesome clothing and gift store. Totally blown away by the wide selection of quality products. Great staff, kind, courteous and extremely knowledgeable about the great outdoors. There’s also a few viewing areas of the mountains around the store which includes an outdoor patio. A very cool, laidback and eclectic environment.
Y’all should go visit… chop, chop.

Wow. Whatta store, place to visit - destination! - if you are a camper, hiker, or just love the thrill of exploring. While not the biggest "shop" in the world (it's no Walmart!) this store/destination offers *everything* you need for camping, hiking, or whatever. There are tents, shoes, boots, sleeping bags, stoves, trail food (survival food as well!) plus some outstanding views and items of interest outside. Don't miss the photo opportunity of shoes & boots in the trees - and if you're a hiker/camper with an old pair you're willing to to 'donate' you might want to bring them & add them to the tree - make a little mark on history for others to see, appreciate, and enjoy. :-D
A gathering place for hikers (some doing the Appalachian Trail), this place stays rather busy with folks who, usually, have a story or two to tell if you engage with them. There are a few trails outside which lead to outlooks, or you can enjoy the view through the store's great big bay window.
This is also the site of several historical markers - read them! They offer interesting insights into the area & the land, as well as educational and informatiion you may find useful, especially if you are interested in hiking or camping in the area.
A definite "must see - must visit" store & location, I highly recommend dropping by if you have the interest and the time. A unique place in a unique location with some very interesting and unique history behind it. I plan on stopping again to see this store & enjoy it, and the location. I would recommend you try to plan & put it in your trip as well. It makes a nice break on the road, offers something interesting to see and do, and might even inspire you to try some of the trail hiking & crowd.

The staff was so kind and helpful. Ok this is a bit of a funny story: Back in December of 2022 I was hike and broke my phone, luckily I was close to my car. So I pulled in to the mountain crossing parking lot and angrily Shut my door and lock my keys my car. One of the staff helped me break into my car and gave me directions to town. From there I ended up driving another 80 plus miles following road signs back home. Once again thank you guys so much, best hiking store I have ever been to.

What can I say? It's iconic! A true piece of Appalachian Trail history that has withstood the test of time. Located at Neels Gap, you can find all your trail needs as a hiker such as equipment, food, a hostel (we all should take a bath after days on trail) :-), good service and fun comradarie. This is also a great place to stop if you're out for that afternoon drive and want souvenirs. If you haven't been, do yourself a favor and stroll on in! Oh, they also have numbers for shuttles if you can't reserve a spot in the hostel. I recommend Donald, "The Grateful Hiker." He made mine and a buddies long ride back to Springer super enjoyable. And you ride in luxury! Happy Trails.

If you are a hiker this is a must stop establishment. The staff is extremely knowledgeable about hiking, gear, and the trails in the area. I always walk out the door with more knowledge than when I walked in. Not to mention they have plenty of merchandise to appease the out-of-town travelers looking for something to remember their trip.

This store/hostel is managed by some of the most genuine people out there. Staff is very professional, experienced & will answer any questions about the trail/gear. Do not pass up this resupply and fountain of knowledge and guidance from fellow hikers that care about you and your journey. 6 stars.

Things are definitely marked up but that’s to be expected. They have some cool magnets and stickers and there’s a good variety food to restock with. The port-a-potties were surprisingly clean. This is the only part on the Appalachian Trail that you have to walk through a building. The people here are super friendly, you can use their water/electric sockets to fill up and charge up.

The people who work here are so nice. I hiked through on the AT and they were so kind I took my family back when I got off the trail. Great selection. They have the gear that backpackers need and believe me, they know backpacking! It is owned by a couple of through hikers.

Lots of good outdoor gear! Friendly service. This store has come in handy multiple times over the years when we needed something during our camps at vogel and blood Mountain hikes!

My husband and I are through hiking the Appalachian trail and had a brief stop here. We were greeted by the adorable Orange Cat and the team were delightful and very helpful. (Even managed to get some laundry done by the staff. Amazing service!)
We bought some AT memorabilia and a new ultra light weight backpack which is a dream to hike with!

This old rock built shop/inn on the Appalachian Trail is a nice stopping off location when on the Appalachian Trail. You can take a breather and speak with the shop personnel. They are very knowledgeable of the AT. You can also stock on your supplies while there. When I was there, they had some hiking gear on sale outside the front door.

Went by here today and we were in awe! We gave been reading about the APT for a while now and want to someday make the trek. While close by we stopped and this store is knowledgeable and I love everything there. I could have easily spent ALOT of money in there. Great view and the shoe tree was mesmerizing. I could stand there all day just looking at each pair of shoes and imagine the great honor the person felt throwing them up there. It is definitely a sight to see!
