Brimstone Bakery

A lovely lunch from lovely people. Aptly named, Brimstone Bakery offers a cozy lunch and quality experience with house made breads, soups, jams and a bevy of baked treats. The indoor dining area is bright and warm. The proprietors were welcoming, engaging and attentive but not overbearing. Service was fast, not rushed.

We both had a BLT on toasted bread: well proportioned and constructed. Every bite was satisfying down to the last. The soups were delicious: a caramelized apple, fennel and kabocha soup (savory with a touch of sweetness) and a tomato soup with grilled cheese croutons. The blueberry-basil lemonade was as beautiful as it was tasty.

We highly recommend the chipotle hot chocolate (smoky and sweet), the spiced molasses cake with brown sugar frosting and the chocolate cake. The cake slices are generous portions, moist, and rich in complex flavors.

Everything has a little extra touch demonstrating the thought put into each detail, including the bamboo spoons and sandwich wrappings. The prices are solid, but combined with the quality, Brimstone Bakery provides excellent value. Well worth a day trip and the drive through the mountains.

Thank you for a lovely meal. We'll definitely be back, looking forward to the quiche and the outdoor garden dining area in the warmer months.

WOW! This place is absolutely fantastic. Anthony and the rest of the team are so, so friendly and amazing, I love everyone here! The food and pastries are the BEST - I can't emphasize enough how much I love this place. Brimstone Bakery is totally a gem and one of my top favorite spots in all of New York (including all of NYC!). The hand pies are scrumptious, the coffee is perfect, and the cookies... the cookies!!! So good!!! Definitely recommend coming here for a treat, especially with friends! :-)

My husband I had lunch with friends earlier this week. Anthony was friendly and attentive, as always. The tomato soup was the best I’ve ever tasted and my husband hasn’t stopped talking about his Caesar salad in days. The cafe is decorated so tastefully and it’s immaculately clean. A true gem for our community!

Delicious food with perfect service at a great price. We've been back 3 times since discovering this lunch spot. We started with drip coffee and mushroom quiche slices. The Quiche is amazing!!

The next time we came for lunch and had a chicken salad sandwich and a BLT on brioche. All was delicious.

We came on Saturday for the special sticky buns and they're totally worth it. Don't miss Saturday morning if you're visiting.

Amazing food and beverage. Small, comfortable, quiet. Plenty of parking. Just a short bit off of Route 20.

Everything is delicious! From the sweet to the savory baked goods and lunch, everything is delicious and fresh. Finding Brimstone Bakery was a highlight of my family’s upstate NY vacation getaway from NYC and is well worth going out of your way for. We enjoyed the scones, cookies, pumpkin loaf, salads, sandwiches, and hand pies.

Best pea soup, which I was not expecting from a bakery! Chicken caeser was delicious. And the baked goods? The blueberry and apple hand pie and scones equally amazing. Very glad to have found this place while wandering through Sharon Springs.

My experience at the Brimstone Bakery was wonderful! The coffee was by far the best I have had in Schoharie county. My quiche was very savory and delicious. Anthony is very kind and helpful. The ambience of the bakery and the grounds are magical!

This bakery is IT. The BLT’s are sublime, the service is friendly and attentive, cherry brownies are dark and sharp & delicious and the carrot cake is…just go. Also, flawless espresso based coffee unsurpassed in a 50 mile radius. Worth a detour.
