Bananas Records: CDs, DVDs & Vinyl

I love a good record store, and this is a great record store! I had a blast here for Record Store Day, and always find treasures when I come in. The selection is absolutely ridiculous (in a good way)! I could search through their music for years and still not see it all. Definitely a good vibe and fun treasure hunting spot.

Finally made it into this store after driving past it for a number of years. They have an amazing selection of vinyl plus a secondary wearhouse nearby with more vinyl. It was almost like walking through an antique music museum as well because the owner I understand was somewhat of a hoarder but had a lot of old school televisions, record players, boomboxes, etcetera that they have displayed the store. My girlfriend found a nice bag and a mug for one of her friends here as well.

They do sell turntables, as well as plenty of cds, dvds, and to sets

EASILY the best record store in St Pete. The New selection is huge, and they have an equally large collection of used records at a fair price. I will be back. Pictures don't do it justice.

Very large, old-school style record store. While they have a fairly amazing selection of new, used, and many hard to find records - you will pay top dollar for it. This is not the place to find an underpriced gem; they know what they have and they price it accordingly at or near highest going price. Can't blame them, but don't go here looking for a screaming deal. You'll easily spend some time in this shop though, and I'll definitely be back next time in town.

Good record store if you're in the St. Petersburg area. Large selection of every type of music, rock, rap, metal, soundtracks, comedy, classical, country, etc. You'll find new and used selections as well as rare items. There is also a back room packed with records to dig through with blowout prices. There is also a room with DVDs/Blu-rays and listening stations. The store is roomy and well organized. There is free parking behind the store.

Love Bananas. Nothing like it up here in Massachusetts. I'm old so I was looking for albums from back in the 60s. I bought 6 original albums and 8 CDs and only cost me $96! I even got the Beatles white album!

One of the coolest stores I’ve been too. I’m from Portland so I’m used to the mind numbingly pretentious record store, this place is not like that at all. The employees were very helpful and nice and I didn’t catch her name, but the woman working yesterday put down what she was restocking and happily walked me right to the bin I was looking for. The young man who helped us check out was very nice too. The store has an INCREDIBLE selection and I audibly gasped a couple times at the records I found for $9.99 or less. I wish I would’ve started in the back where they had jazz and rock albums for $2.99. I got a majority of my order from back there, and saved room for a couple $20 albums. My total came out to about $80, which included a Beatles Abbey Road album in mint condition, a still in the plastic Best of Nina Simone, a Best of the Byrds, 2 John Denver albums, a Johnny Mathis record, the soundtrack to St Elmo’s Fire, & Loundon Wainwright III. The records being sold for $2.99 were in excellent condition and had clean covers and no scratches. All of them played through perfectly. You can tell the employees spend a ton of time keeping that place organized and clean, the alphabeticalization and tidiness of the store was very impressive. They had rooms full of DVD’s and cassette tapes as well. The back room had a beautiful wall of old record players, walkmans and vintage music players. I could’ve spent four hours in there. I love finding a business like this, they are so few and far between.

Great CD and vinyl selection. Little bit pricier than other spots in the city, but the selection and staff make up for it. Killer DVD spot as well. Definitely check out their warehouse too.

Love the friendly, knowledgeable, vinyl passionate staff. They have so much inventory they needed to rent/buy out 2 other buildings so they will ALWAYS have what you're looking for.

I love this place for place for their huge selection of music, I feel like I could always find something I like lookin thru all the discs, and I've especially been loving bananas for the shows! I adore getting to see our local scene and always love it in the crowds! Can't wait to see the place again and can't wait to see more shows :)
