Windy Hill Farm

Windy Hill Farm is such a lovely wedding venue! I love the layout of the property, the owners' priority on sustainability, and the warmth of the rustic space. The beautiful dressing-suite can be used as an overnight stay for the newlyweds, and the ceremony lawn is romantic and intimate feeling. The fields, filled with goats, are fantastic for photos, and the reception barn is neutral enough that you can do anything in the space but don't need much to create your beautiful setting. I especially love the barn loft for the bar! Always happy to work at this venue.

I cannot say enough good things about Windy Hill! My husband and I got married here in April and Chiara and her team were absolutely amazing. Chiara was so easy to work with and provided very helpful insight throughout our time planning. The venue itself is stunning and has multiple locations for the ceremony and cocktail hour. The covered pavilion was a beautiful spot for the reception and there was so much ease of mine knowing that had our wedding day been rainy, we would not have to rent an expensive tent. There are great amenities with the venue including wooden tables and chairs that didn’t need linens (another cost saved), heaters and fans, cafe lighting, lawn games, a fire pit, and more. The farmhouse had two spots for getting ready and was very comfortable for the morning of the wedding. We also particularly love how eco-conscious this venue is, and were so happy that we could compost any leftover greenery and food from the wedding day.
An extra shoutout to one of Windy Hill’s preferred vendors - Mary & Kim of Bull City Blossom Events who provided amazing day of event coordinating services! They were both rockstars who provided SO much hands on support on our wedding day as well as some additional help in the months leading up. Between Chiara, Mary, and Kim, we felt so supported to fully enjoy our day!

Windy Hill Farm is such an incredibly magical place. We are THRILLED to have worked with Chiara- she is kind, welcoming, and communicative. It felt like an old friend was welcoming us into her home. I can't begin to explain how special this place is and how perfect a setting it was to celebrate our love and life together. The goats, the fireflies, the flowers... I can't wait to look back on our photos and reminisce about this day with our future kids. Go with Windy Hill if you are looking for magic and whimsy and warmth for your wedding! Our wedding at Windy Hill couldn't have been more perfect! Chiara is the sweetest and from the very start was super informative and helpful to make sure that our wedding day we going to be perfect. The venue itself is just so beautiful--from the lovely fields and trees, to the awesome pavilion, the twinkling lights, the baby goats, and the cozy farmhouse (and breakfast!) for our wedding night/morning--we were so thrilled to have chosen Windy Hill. We absolutely adored our wedding at Windy Hill. Chiara was so incredibly thoughtful and easy to work with throughout the entirety of our wedding planning process. We were married in September of 2020, which meant our whole wedding plan was changed d/t COVID, but she allowed us to use the space in 2021 for us to have a really incredible 1 year anniversary party/belated wedding reception. We love how magical this place felt for both of us and the amazing memories this place will hold.

Truly can't say enough good things about Windy Hill and working with Chiara. Not only is it the dreamiest property (we fell in love with it the moment we saw it), but Chiara is the most caring, gentle, helpful person to work with. She had amazing vendor recommendations and so much wedding knowledge that we desperately needed. I couldn't recommend Windy Hill enough. Also, goats!

They helped make our daughter's special day perfect! The farm is beautiful and offers so many different settings for a ceremony, reception and photos. Chiara, Russell, Jane and the staff were all so friendly and attentive. They also offer home made soaps that make perfect thank you gifts.

I would recommend them to anyone looking for a rustic, country setting for their special event.

We had our wedding in November '21 on a cold, windy day. Chiara--who is one of the sweetest and most thoughtful women I have ever met--did everything possible to ensure our guests stayed warm and comfortable. Chiara and her team set up heaters in the barn, handed out blankets to guests, and kept the fire pits going all evening. The result was a cozy wedding in a spectacularly beautiful place. The natural beauty of the farm provided so many photo opportunities! While planning, I didn't even have to think about too many decorations because the venue was already Picture Perfect. I cannot recommend Windy Hill Farm enough! Chiara truly loves what she does and cared so much about helping us have the best wedding possible.

Beautiful place, beautiful people. We got married here in March 2021 and the second I saw this venue, I knew it was the place that would help my fairytale in my head a reality. Chiara is amazing, sweet, and so caring. She made the whole process of planning a wedding during Covid that much easier. I was always able to reach out to her with any questions and never had to wait long for a response. There is not a bad thing I can say about Windy Hill Farm or the family that runs it. The farmhouse that you get ready in has a bridal suite upstairs with its own bathroom. The lighting in bridal suit is PERFECT! You can also stay over night after the wedding and I highly recommend that. The bed was like sleeping on clouds and they made breakfast in the morning that was delicious. I could go on forever talking about this venue, but if you are trying to decide about booking them...DO IT!

P.S. If you get married in the spring they might have baby goats :) and who doesn't love baby goats?!?!

Windy Hill Farm is one of the most beautiful wedding venues my partner and I have ever seen. The barn has some of the most incredible views I’ve seen since moving away from Western NC, the covered outdoor reception area is stunning and perfect a a covid-safe dinner and dancing area, and the ceremony spots are truly lovely.

Beyond the loveliness of the grounds, our favorite aspect was getting to work with Chiara, the owner and event manager. Chiara made us feel at home and seen in a way that no other venue could compare to. When we shared that we were looking for a queer-friendly event space, she was down to clown.

Carrot and Marmalade, the farm kitties, will accompany your tour and then shoot across the field up a tree when the anticipation of you booking gives them the zoomies.

We are charmed and delighted to have become acquainted with this place.

Fortunately, we can visit Windy Hill beyond an actual wedding because they also enjoy being:
- an engagement shoot backdrop
- a bridal shower spot
- your rehearsal dinner location
- your bachelorette party spot (see asterisk items below for some of the options this can include)

Non wedding events include:
- dance classes
- baby goat yoga*
- paint and sip*
- flower arranging workshops with one of their favorite local farmer-florists*

I don't have adequate words to describe how incredible our experience with Windy Hill Farm was. I toured just one venue, and the minute I set foot on this property I knew it was the place (you could say it was "love at first sight" :)). We rescheduled our wedding due to the pandemic and the grace, kindness, and compassion that Chiara showed us significantly eased the stress of our decision. The new date we landed on (after much debate, which Chiara patiently talked us through) ended up being perfect. It rained a bit on our wedding date (thankfully held off for the ceremony) and it did not dampen our spirits one bit; in fact, it added to the gorgeous atmosphere. Chiara, Russ, and the rest of the team were incredibly thoughtful, hard-working, and almost prescient in their ability to help facilitate our event. The farm is absolutely gorgeous, including the suite for getting ready. The Windy Hill Farm stewards accommodated all of our requests and appeared unflappable in doing so. The barn is a cozy and gorgeous space for a party, and their dance floor is perfect. The upstairs bar area looks out over the pasture and provides a peaceful and beautiful retreat if a break is needed. And we had a wonderful firepit - I completely forgot that we were even going to have one but they didn't! It was such a delightful surprise to walk over and see the beautiful campfire with our loved ones sitting around it. I'm sure I'm leaving something out because our gratitude and enthusiasm for this spot is endless. Of course, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the GOATS. There were also two-day-old calves present on our day, and a cow that "laughed" at the best man's toast which provided the perfect levity. Needless to say, I HIGHLY recommend booking your "love celebration" (as we called it) here.

Gorgeous place! Everything was amazing. My only complaint would be that there aren’t any pathways between the different areas. The parking area lines the edges of a gravel road until you reach the entrance. The farm is fairly large and they utilize different areas of it for different parts of the event. Between the gravel and the VERY soft grassy ground, wearing heels is extremely uncomfortable. Most of your steps will end with your heel sinking straight into the ground which not only makes walking difficult, but is also guaranteed to cake your shoes in mud.

We could not have asked for a better venue than Windy Hill Farm. From the old farmhouse to the fields of goats and cows, to the beautifully lit event barn, it was everything we could have asked for. The scenery was the perfect backdrop to our little celebration. The owners are just as beautiful as the farm, welcoming us to the property and helping make our day as easy as possible. Chiara was so helpful and did the best she could to accommodate our many requests. We are so grateful to have had our wedding here. It was absolutely the perfect place!

Chiara was a joy to work with and the venue is such a gem! Everything there is designed beautifully, so simple and elegant. The renovations to the farmhouse are delightfully tasteful and the antique heirloom pieces make you feel right at home. The reception area is the perfect size and perfectly lit. Our ceremony location out in the field felt so generously spacious. There's literally not a single thing I would've changed! Chiara made the planning process seamless. Her responses were always thoughtful and her presence calming. The breakfast she cooked for us the morning after was divine. If you want an authentic, peaceful wedding experience don't sleep on this venue!

We cannot recommend Windy Hill Farm enough! From our first visit we knew this was where we wanted to get married. Holding a wedding at Windy Hill Farm feels like having the perfect backyard wedding (if your backyard came with a historic home, baby goats, and all of the perks of a professional wedding venue).

Not only is the setting picturesque, but Chiara is one of the warmest and kindest people we have ever met. She honestly made the process of planning a wedding in only 7 months so much easier. We knew she was always a text, email, or call away if we had any questions. She is a true professional and provided us with so many tools and recommendations to help us plan our day. When we visited the venue during the planning process, she made us feel welcome. On the day of the wedding, she was there the entire time helping to make sure our day went smoothly and to answer any questions we had. She and her team made sure everything was set up and were patient with us while we tried to decide if the weather would hold out long enough to have our wedding outdoors. The venue itself is beautiful and allows so much flexibility – we were really able to make the day our own and everything turned out even better than we could have imagined.

Windy Hill Farm was the most special, perfect place to have our June 2022 wedding. rom the first moments we stepped foot at Windy Hill in 2020 we knew it would be such a special place to celebrate our love with our community, and with each visit, that feeling grew. That's not just because the farm is beautiful and welcoming (it is!) but also because of how kind and inviting Chiara and her team are. They were wonderful to work with, and their support and care made our day and the whole planning process easy, and smooth, and full of joy. We're so grateful to the kind folks at Windy Hill for cultivating such a warm and heart-filled space and sharing it with others -- can't recommend having your wedding here enough!

Having worked at Windy Hill for a couple of years, I know firsthand how special of a place it (and it's caretakers) is. Getting to have my wedding there was the greatest blessing and joy to us. You step onto this land, and the world slows down. Technology doesn't matter anymore, to-do lists don't matter anymore, and you just get absorbed into the beauty of it all. Chiara and her family are so gracious and welcoming, and I can't recommend them more!

We had our wedding reception at Windy Hill and it was absolutely beautiful. Our event was intimate and not very formal and the farm was perfect for our guests to be able to play lawn games and dance. They were able to accommodate the food truck and tap trailer we hired and worked really well with our other vendors. Chiara was incredibly helpful and made us feel special. We really appreciated the option to compost and our guests loved the goats!

I really don't have enough words to describe how perfect working with Chiara at Windy Hill Farm was. We booked with Windy Hill in December 2019 and when COVID hit, things were constantly changing. As every COVID bride was, I was stressed out and trying to stay adaptable and Chiara made an effort to reassure us and keep in touch consistently. She was very responsive throughout the whole wedding planning process and was eager to offer help whenever we needed it. Now, let's talk about the property itself- it is absolutely gorgeous! The fields are so beautiful as the backdrop of the wedding/reception area and the simplicity of the venue allowed us to create whatever vision we were hoping for. The pricing is great, considering the amount of space, the hours you have it for, and what you can choose to be included. Chiara is one of the sweetest people I have ever met and on the day of the wedding, she was constantly offering to help and assisted my family in setting up tables, signs, etc. Her staff is wonderful with setting up chairs, tables and pews for the wedding ceremony/reception area and the farm house is so convenient for the bridal party to get ready in. There is an option if it rains as well, which is important, and there is an upstairs portion of the open barn that was great for serving alcohol. Our day was perfect and we owe a lot of it to Windy Hill Farms. Everything about Windy Hill Farms is fantastic. BOOK THIS VENUE!

Windy Hill was everything and more we could have dreamed of for our wedding. The setting is of course beautiful, but that only scratches the surface: the flexibility and kindness and patience that Chiara and her family gave to you us bride and groom is second to none. We felt so at home and able to really make our dreams come to life! Could not recommend Windy Hill more!
