Present Tense Coffee & Books

First time visiting, have known about it for a few years but never made it by. Today was the perfect day to check it out, the atmosphere was perfect for a rainy day outing. The place was warm and inviting. The coffee phenomenal! The barista was so kind and friendly. My toddler had a great time too! Definitely recommend!

This place is awesome!! I came in today and had a delicious Swiss and ham croissant. The atmosphere is so nice and welcoming. It's a great place to relax and hang out!

This is one of my favorite places to visit for a good coffee and a good read. They have a lot of drink and book options and my husband and I love going for the Harry Potter party each summer. The new owner Amy is great. She has been supportive, as I am a small business vendor there. The other vendors are super cool, too. Just an all around great small business supporting other small businesses. It’s in a neat little area and the monthly markets are an awesome addition to the community. Please check it out!

Wanting to try something new, I walked into a comfortable atmosphere, with a pleasant welcome. This place has a huge amount of books to chose from and mini games as well. The lady behind the counter, I believe to be the owner was very helpful when deciding what to order, as we were not sure what we wanted to get at first. There was no wait time and very quick service. Everything tasted great and was exactly as ordered. This is a place to relax and even has free wifi for customers and is a good space for doing school work or office work if needed. We will most definitely visiting this place again! If you are looking for a coffee place to visit, I would highly recommended this one.

The place a fantastic for many reasons. I have bought many books and the owner is quick to order them for me and promptly tells me when they have arrived. Such a calm and peaceful atmosphere. A perfect place to relax and search for your new book to dive into.

I’ve stopped in twice now and both experiences have been wonderful! Beautiful shop, delicious coffees and food, and soooo many books! Very baby/toddler friendly which is a HUGE plus for me! One of my new favorite spots!

I didn't have a chance to come through the book selection. For a small shop, there are a lot of books to go through. It's got a warm, cozy atmosphere, a home-y feel to it, absolutely pleasant. The staff are quite friendly and the coffee is delicious!

Went in today for the first time since recently moving here. Wasn't disappointed! They had lots of milk options, baked goods, small knick knacks to buy and tons of books! Buy or trade. Nice seating areas as well. 1st drink was great, will be back for more. Support small businesses and stay local!!

Excellent cafe to get a coffee and relax with a book. The selection of used books to buy is pretty good too. The atmosphere is terrific.

I love Present Tense and have grown fond of the new owner Amy. She pours so much love into every aspect of the shop. It is my favorite place to go sit with a coffee and get work done. This local gem is a must visit!

Everything is so beautiful! I came in before the remodel and after and everything looks so gorgeous! The staff is so polite and even offer to help look for any books your looking for. I got my usual chai latte which is always great but I also tried the new French soda and it was delicious! I will definitely be back soon!

Was recommended to give this try by the new owner on a Next Door message. Today makes the second day in a row that I have had a coffee here and I have to say the coffee is spot on and the environment and vibe of the place is spot on. The fact that you can enjoy great coffee, easy musical tones, and a huge selections of books, is very neat.

Excellent drinks and snacks.I always enjoy stopping in to see what new books are available. With book prices 1/2off regular price and some times even more discounted along with other unique gifts.I love this place and all the people I have met there. I highly recommend you go and enjoy the awesomeness it has to offer!!

Wonderful coffee and eclectic book selection! Everyone here is fantastic! The beverages are so good, the shop is cozy and clean, the books selection is great! B's Knees bakery supplies the shop with amazing baked goods for purchase and they are delectable! We find something every time we are in there! Support this local coffee shop, grab a book and take an adventure! Lake Asbury is lucky to have this shop!

I've always thought used bookstores/coffeehouses were little slices of Heaven but this one takes the cake! The selection is great, the deals are amazing, the atmosphere is relaxing, the coffee is great, and the people are awesome! Shout-out to Allison for being awesome! I can't recommend this place enough. I've been dying to go there and I was not disappointed!

One of my favorite coffee shops! Delicious coffee and an adorable atmosphere. I highly recommend the vanilla latte or honey latte! Often they also have delicious pastries that you can't pass up! The staff is very nice and welcoming. Always enjoy stopping for a cup!
