The staff that work here are always friendly and helpful. Today I went in looking for men’s Doc Martin boots but they were out but said they had some unisex docs in the women’s section. When I explained that my transgender son was the one wanting them and he wears a size 10 in women’s the kind lady at the register did not skip a beat and helped me decipher the sizes but wasn’t pushy. Perfect. The prices are reasonable and I like that I earn rewards to use on future purchases. With 5 kids we buy a lot of shoes!

This place is great! I was shopping for new workout shoes today which are very hard for me to find as I have extra wide feet so most shoes will squeeze my feet causing my toes to go numb. I went to universal first because thats where I usually go and the staff there seemed to have no motivation whatsoever to even sell me a pair of shoes as well as no idea how to carry out the process. They weren't helpful or even the slightest bit enthusiastic. They couldn't even measure my foot correctly much less tell me which shoes could be ordered in a wide even though I had called previously to have them get a list together for when I came in. I was extremely irritated and left for famous. Upon arriving the first thing Erica the associate did was pull out the measuring apparatus and measure both the width and length of my foot. At this point I thought she's just the most competent shoe saleswoman in town! She suggested trying a men's shoe instead of women's to get the extra width, and proceeded to pull all the shoes that she thought may work for me so I could try them on. She was friendly and helpful and competent. I recommend her and famous over universal every time!
