Elyon African Food Market

This was my first time getting food here and I'm so glad I found this place. We ordered the grilled fish and plantain plate, a side of jollof rice, efo riro and chicken plate. It was all so delicious!!! This fish was seasoned very well! The building is very cluttered in the inside but we took our food to-go. The owner was very sweet seemed like an auntie!!!! Will definitely be returning!

The Egusi Soup with chicken was delicious. Very spicy and flavorful. A Must try!

I loved my egosi and fu fu it wasn’t too spicy or overwhelming is perfect and I’ll be going here forever and the customer service was magnificent!!!!

I go here every week for my Nija family they are amazing friendly and the food is okay too. If you don’t want to drive far to the restaurants . It’s quite small but for the basics this place is my go to because it’s closer to me now since we moved .

The Egusi soup is SUPER DELICIOUS it’s a 10/10 for me and their Jollof Rice is a 10/10 too. I really recommend everyone to try it. They DEFINITELY have 5 STAR FOOD.

This is by far the best African food restaurant in Houston. The jollof rice is my favorite. I come here almost everyday and it reminds me of mom's cookings. Thank you for always making it up to standard all the time.

Every time I come in everyone is always so welcoming and friendly that’s one of the things I really love about this place. The food is amazing! Never bland or too salty, just right! My favorites to get are the “Egusi and FuFu” and the “Efo Riro!” I absolutely love the taste and texture and freshness of the food. Homemade and made with love!

Let me start off by saying...THANK YOU!!!Customer service is EVERYTHING!!!!! I read reviews about Elyon African Market but I had to see and taste for myself. I was greeted as I walked in the door and I could see the smile through the face mask. The owners were very kind, friendly, and attentive. My food was still nice and hot by the time I made it home. Fufu... D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S 😋 😋 and enough for two filling meals. I’ll be back😊

I’ve been eating here for the past six months, I usually order online but today I drove to the location and I was extremely satisfied. They were very welcoming and the food was GREAT AND FRESH as always!!!

Quality of food is good taste like Grandma's cooking

Food was amazing, I tried the yellow rice with goat and plantains hands down on the cook. The goat had a some fat but overall it was delicious, we also tried the egusi and fufu was good it was our first time trying it and we enjoyed everything about it. Thank you for the great experience!

Owner is extremely friendly. The very first Nigerian store we went to when we first moved to Houston and still love shopping there. They serve hot delicious Nigerian food. The BEST party style jollof rice in Houston. Thanks

When i tell you this places feels like home, the food is so good and the people are good people. Its hard to find quality now days and this place here is amazing.

And not to far from me, at one point i was traveling from spring to south west instead.

I have been here 3 times and each time the good is hot the flavors are delicious and it was timely. I got fufu and chicken egusi and it’s been great ever time.

I enjoy the atmosphere and friendly service I received each time I visit. I love the goat peppersoup so much I am getting ready to go order some now! 😁
