Sozo Trading Co.

One of the best thrift stores in town to stop by regularly. They maintain the orderliness extremely well and have good offerings at good values. Especially of note is that the business furthers an incredible cause - worth checking out their website. Located in extremely walkable Avondale surrounded by a ton of great restaurants and some other shops.

I love the store but one of the clerks spends all her time shopping. I visit 2 to 3 times a week she’s always shopping and putting quality items aside for her self before they are even priced. I need to get a job there so I can shop and get the best prices. I don’t know her name but she has white hair in a sort of bob.

This is a really fun store! We read another review about a person being blocked due to a stopped train, and we were too! We eventually were able to find a side street that was past where the train was stopped. There's also a bridge to the southwest that goes over the train tracks (which I *think* is 35th St S...we're from Florida, so we're reeeeeally not familiar with the area!) If you're able, just come at the store from the south to avoid train drama!

The store itself is really fun! There are separate vendors along the edges, and prices do vary quite a bit. There is a big selection of $1 t-shirts, though, so if you just need some cheap shirts for working in the yard, or for doing an upcycling sewing project, then check it out! There was also a good selection of books for really cheap prices.

Great blend of traditional thrift store and antique boutique with stalls. I will return.

This place is amazing! Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. There is something to find that fits every budget. Some things are more expensive than others but the quality and name brand was worth it. Also, I found t-shirts for $1 and other items for hardly nothing. I would recommend going and looking around. Its hard to see everything in one trip. I was there an hour and didnt see everything I wanted to see and check out. Loved it!!!

I love Sozo Trading Company. You can sign up for text coupons. They have a loyalty program which is great considering the fact that their prices are very reasonable. I could spends hours in here; they have so much merchandise. Mostly used but they do have brand new options as well. If you collect memorabilia Sozo is a great place to look. They have collectibles, record albums, silverware, home decor, books, clothes, etc. Staff friendly, courteous from the moment you walk in and very helpful!

We absolutely love this thrift store and donate here and shop here all the time.

My only complaint is when there are 2 cashiers and a long line, there is always that one person who decides to make their own line so they can be next. It’s extremely rude as everyone else has been waiting and the cashiers don’t say anything. Honestly makes me not want to go back on Saturdays. Please put a sign out so those of us that waited in line can be served without constantly being cut.

Very unique store, nothing like the other thrift stores in Alabama. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ recommend, the employees are very friendly.

My favorite store I’m only able to get down here once a month because I live almost 2 hours away…. For 2 months now the train has blocked me from getting there…… is this a sign….. do I spend too much money…..
GPS acts like it’ll help and take me another route around, only to bring me right back to 41st street waiting at the train again😭😭😭

I love this thrift store! It’s a mixture of vendor booths that get rented out like an antique store, and a thrift store which makes it perfect for me! They typically have really nice items at very reasonable prices, plus you know it’s for a good cause! They also have a handy rewards program that helps save you money. 10/10!

Me and my boyfriend absolutely loved this place! When coming to UAB for baby appointments we have made it a routine to try a new restaurant in the area and come by and shop here! You cannot beat the prices at this place and they have so much to offer!

This place is amazing! Large, clean, beautifully arranged space filled with home furnishings and decor, tons of clothing, chic booths from local vendors and even a global goods boutique -- all presented at excellent prices. All sales directly benefit the Sozo Children's mission, which provides basic needs to vulnerable children in Uganda, so your shopping dollars go to a truly worthy cause.
