White Haven General Store

neat lil store with all kinds of odds and ends for your household. But most of all, smoked cheese! I wasn't sure what it would be but the smoked cheese is most excellent, worth a trip for this alone. Sign out front reading no browsing allowed was slightly confusing.

The only place like it in town. Great variety of items, friendly owners and the best smoked cheese I've ever had.

Wonderfully quirky

This is truly a "general store" in that you can get all kinds of things here. There's a section that's a bit like a thrift store, with sort of random used home goods, there's some clothing, and there's a section for movies and video game systems. But what I came here for was the huge variety of smoked cheese. There's an entire menu of options, and I picked up a jalapeño cheese that was very good. If you're a fan of smoked cheese and you're in the area for skiing or hiking, definitely slide by this place on your way home.

Owner was rude - told us they were not open unless we pay a fee. He then showed me to the door and turn off the open sign. He said we were not welcome there. Honestly looked like a bunch of junk there anyway. I’ll go some place else to get smoked cheese. I only gave them 1 star so that I could post this plus it gave us something to laugh about on the way home.

Was told to enter I had to pay a $1 monthly membership? Not a friendly owner told us they weren't open and to leave, but the door was open and the open sign was on. Kind of makes me wonder what they might be selling?

Rudest store owner ….. basically told us our business was not welcome. Buy your cheese somewhere else.
