Half Price Books

My husband and I visited Half Price Books in East Cobb yesterday to buy a cookbook for a date night challenge. Not only did we leave with Mediterranean Food of the Sun but also a like new Betty Crocker cookbook and one by Adam Grant. We also met a gracious woman, Carolyn, who helped us fulfill one of the challenge conditions. She was a really good sport.

I walked in very unaware of the size and selection they would have. And I was pleasantly surprised. I highly recommend for both heavily book readers or those new readers.

I've been to the Decatur location a few times but this is my first time at the Marietta one. This place really is great with prices, service, and atmosphere. Remember to bring your own bag as they do not give you one.

They have all sorts of things. Games, books, records, comics, calendars. I bought two little cross stitch kits. They buy books. I highly recommend them.

They have plenty of books, comics, manga (in English and foreign languages), video games, records, cds, sketchbooks, journals, and movies. Most of their merchandise is in new-like new quality for being a used books store. The prices are above average as well. There is not many places to sit, but it is nice and quiet to read through anything you like. There have been authors who have come in to read and sign books. If you have any used books, video games, music cds/records, or movies they will buy them from you for a low price. Overall this I a very good store.

Great place to find used books, LPs, and unique gifts! Atmosphere is very relaxed, always enjoy browsing through their inventory!

Great place to get discount books. It's also nice to see and feel the books instead of just getting them online, especially for kid books

A great place for books! I wish there were more of these stores around because they have a collection of interesting books in addition to hobby items, games, and more. You can also go here to sell books, games, etc.

Love this place. Always come out with a stack of great books for unbeatable deals. Don't go in here without some time to browse around.

Best book store in East Cobb. Great prices and I always find a book to read. They don't always have the exact book I am looking for but never disappointed with the selection.

I love HPB! They are always super helpful. The prices are fantastic, even on newer releases that aren't "half priced."

Such a wonderful store! A must stop for any book lover. It's also a great place to find last minute yet meaningful gifts. On top of books, they also have vinyl, video game, and movie sections. The store is littered with small, nerdy toys and cute things. The book deals are superb! It's an all-around perfect store!

This was my first time in this store. It is very similar to other used book stores I’ve been to but honestly I found better prices. I will definitely be returning here to sell some books and buy more. 3 books I got were less than $15 for all 3 and in great shape.

I love this place. They have an awesome selection (small) of antique books, and the store is organized well. Very friendly and helpful staff. Better than other similar bookstores.

Large selection of used books in excellent condition as well as dvds, CDs even LPS. Just like the places you used to go to back in college. Well worth a stop to pick up some old-fashioned paper books to read at a good price

I love this bookstore, they have so much available. I went in this time for Fahrenheit 451 for my kid's literature class. They have all the required reading titles in their own section making it incredibly easy to find what you need.

Half Price Books is at least better than their evil competitor 2nd & Charles. Their employees seem a few degrees happier, and this observation is backed up by their glassdoor ratings. I don't expect anyone working a low-paying retail job to be overjoyed, but the cashiers are at least not miserable like they are at 2nd & Charles, where they are being forced to sell scammy magazine subscriptions among other things. Note that I've only bought from these places never sold stuff, and I pray that I'm never desperate enough to have to do that. I don't think it's fair to rate these companies low for buying stuff for basically nothing since this is the laziest way to sell anything. Also if people would just call in advance they'd realize their time would be more profitably spent mining their couch cushions for change and thus they'd be saved the trip.🙂
