Westlake Ace Hardware

We went in to get a quality grounded ext. cord and after looking around at the entire stock & comparing all the specs we found a really great one. It was a 25ft med. duty grounded one marked at $16.99, GREAT, the others we liked were & 35+! I didn't think it was too odd since they had others (granted not quite as good) around the same price. At the register the cord rang up for $36.99 so the cashier checked it & YEP that was the price. I explained that was hanging with a few of the same cords on a peg marked with the low price then took an employee back to show them. The employee found I was right but soon discovered that almost all the cords were hanging on the wrong price hooks. I asked if they would be willing to honor the price b/c well that is where it was. They had the assist. manager come out & after watching both the employee & assist. manager go through everything to see how wrong the display was set up & looking to see what overrides they could do on the price I asked if they would be able to meet me in the middle of what the price said & what it should actually be - the assistant manager agreed and apologized for not being able to do the much lower price. Honestly I know some people will still think they should have done the lower price but the employees don't make the rules & there is only so much they can do without getting in trouble themselves PLUS they could have easily said "nope it's the price that the bar code reads".

So thank you to the employees that were incredibly helpful & very fair Randy, Keyon & Mary (hope I got all the names right!)

It's nice to shop somewhere the employees are helpful & do what they can to accommodate customers. It seems to happen less & less especially at big chain businesses.

Yesterday, Dana and Joe, from Westlake (6201 Independence Ave), helped getting a 2nd car key and fob, for our car! They did a great job! We really appreciated it and saved us money! Another Associate, Morgan, also helped me when paying with a my new card, but it was declined. I was about use my primary card, when Morgan said I entered a wrong pin number, but I couldn't remember it. She said try it again, and use it as credit, and it worked! 3 great Associates at this store!

A little pricey on some things but the people are nice and location is convenient😊

Absolutely love this place they got the nice people working here don't mind helping you out or showing you where it's nothing is and they don't just point they take you to it

I shop there regularly and find what I looking for most of the time the last time I went I rented a rug Doctor I kept it late,cAlled, and kept it late again .they didn't say anything negative about it that had already kept it late. and when I did return it they only charged me for 2 days and I've had it for4. I've had a good experience with them& they always seem nice and helpful. And unlike most Avenue stores they don't hover over you like you're going to steal something all the time you're there. they let you shop and browse without a problem. That that theory that everyone's a thief if they're shopping and looking around a lot or just comparing shopping, seems to be the norm at most Avenue stores. it really bothers me at the stores where they know me & that I spend money there every month.

Getting to where I just walk out when they do that to me.

I elected to shop here this morning instead of Wally World. This is a neighborhood store and the employees are very friendly. Its been a while since I shopped here, so I was pleasantly surprised at all the updates: new floor plan, new registers and a new entry way (automatic door that slide to one side to open). The new entry is an excellent improvement that allow safe easy access for Seniors and the handicap. I used an ACE Rewards discount and saved $5 on my purchase. One very important plus of shopping here; no long lines to check out! I suggest you visit this store to help keep it in our neighborhood. My experience today reminded me that shopping for hardware can be hassle free at a neighborhood store, and with the discount, the cost is about the same as the big box guys.

The associates were very helpful on helping me find what I needed they were all polite and not only the associates were nice but the cashiers were also polite as well. I feel very welcome and safe shopping at Westlake. I highly recommend other customers to shop here at Westlake.

I've always liked shopping at Westlake, must be the tomboy in me. It's been quite awhile since I've been to Westlake. I went to by a space heater. Which was to be my ONLY source of heat! The young gal that helped me was very sweet. I had a specific price range. Victoria got a scanner and patiently helped me. Then the assistant manager showed me through the store as I would need other supplies in the future. He was so patient and laid back! He even tolerated my spirited and colorful descriptions of people, places & things 😬 this is a nice store with great employees.

I shop here regularly because it is very close to home. Ace has the best selection of cleaning supplies and very nice prices! I also go here to get painting supplies for my artwork, they have a nice selection of paint pens, acrylic paint and in many different sizes,types and colors.

They have alot of thing's in there. The worker's were professional and very helpful. They were polite and friendly. They have all kinds of power tools and a whole lot of other needs. The place was clean and stocked.

Recently I had a problem with an order that I had placed on Acehardware.com for delivery to the store. After getting no help from the website customer service, I spoke with Stormy at the Ace Westlake Independence store, she was able to resolve the issue. She was courteous and knowledgeable and went out of her way to make a couple of calls to help me. Thanks Stormy.

Doesn't really matter which location I visit, I can usually find what I came in looking for. I also like to catch up with the weekly sale items. If I extra expendable income, I will usually end up picking up some of the sale items. The many KC metro locations, make convenience an advantage.

Westlake is pocket friendly and they may even know your name when u come in the store

It is a good place for me to go when I need some hardware things. The employees are helpful and give advise if you need something they don’t have.

Very nice staff. Always have what you need and less the fuss than bigger hardware stores. No wait for check out either.

This is a good place to go for a variety of reasons. They generally have a decent selection, and the staff are more than willing to help you to get what you need.
