Sunny Slope Winery

A small winery in Holmes County. Most of the wines are sweet varieties, but there are a few dries. We arrived around 11:30 on a Saturday and were surprised we were the only ones here. I tried the house specialty, an elderberry wine and liked it a lot. Not too sweet with a touch of tartness. I usually order dry reds, but this was a good. The winery also serves as a deli and general store. We ordered deli sandwiches for lunch. I had the Italian, which was stacked high with salami, pepperoni, and ham. The deli slices it fresh. The staff were also very friendly.

Heard about this place from a co-worker. We decided to go. Wife got the pizza panini. I got the roast beef sandwich. Very tasty. Im not really a wine drinker, but got a glass of Fence Jumper? Wow!!! It was super tasty. Very easy to drink. Bought a bottle to go. The deli section has fantastic prices as well.

Sooo who would have ever thought that an old general store building would be revived with a GREAT winery! Don’t judge a book by its cover guys this place has some of the best wines EVER! Not sure which I loved more Slap or Slap slushy. And you can not miss their Italian sandwich!!

This is such a quaint winery with the friendliest owners and staff. I loved the outdoor seating area with the live music and of course listening to my daughter, Kami Huff Music. I highly recommend the blueberry wine as well!

Don't miss this winery! Great hot sandwiches with a frozen wine slushies! Not to mention an outside venue for local music during the summer

We were a little concerned when we pulled up, I think I would have passed right by if we hadn’t mapped it. But looks were deceiving, nice, pleasant and fun interior, outside seating available. The black raspberry wine float and apple cider slushie flights were awesome, DELICIOUS!
They have games to play while you eat/drink and even a small kid corner.

Loved my experience here. Was slightly busy on a Saturday but the ladies were quick to help get me started on a wine tasting. I enjoyed most of the wines but my favorite was the wine slushies. We also enjoyed the seating area outside. We will be back.

Wow, this winery was so fun. We stopped in on a Friday early-evening looking to taste some wines and relax for a bit. We didn’t realize that they had live music starting up outside. We are from out of town but loved that Ronaldo (music guy) knew everyone outside and was so friendly. Definitely could tell it’s a fun local hangout. There are picnic tables outside under a tree so there is some shade but it’s a lovely spot to have a glass (or 2 or 3) of wine (or a wine slushy!) and hang out. Highly recommend.

Very deceiving from the outside. Very nice little winery inside. 🍷 Tom and staff were VERY fun and informative about their wines. Most are sweeter wine which is what we like. Got a nice meat, cheese and crackers, and hummus and veggies box. Has a nice little general store too. Very casual. Definitely worth the drive.

I absolutely love this place!! The owners and employees are very knowledgeable and very friendly and they have the widest selection of wines that they make!! every single one of them that my wife and I have tried shows the love that they put into the bottle and it is absolutely the best wine that we have ever tasted!! We have a RV Park and we will guarantee be referring every one of our guests if they want to do a day travel to go to this Winery it is absolutely the best and we love it.

Fortunately they were the only winery open past 6 pm near our hotel. When Sunny Slope came into view we were a tad underwhelmed. It is located in what used to be a convenience store. The store dates back to 1927!

The wine list is extensive, and the staff is delightful. They have multiple delicious, easy to drink fruit wines and several dry wines. The wine tastings were .50 each and it was a healthy sample. My fiancé and I really enoyed our time here.

Oh and those were darn good pretzels they served us with the wine!

So much fun! They had 50 cent samples so we tried all the wines before deciding which we wanted to purchase. There's a shop with T-shirts and a deli. We will definitely be going back. River Rat was my favorite wine 🍷😊

This was a great winery. I was first introduced to this winery via Instagram. It came up as a place to check out. For the past 6 months, I've been wanting to check this winery out. We had planned a trip and finally got to check it out this past weekend.

It lived up to my expectations. The winery owners were very charming. She explained the history of the winery, and what new wines they were going to be releasing soon. I've met a lot of nice owners, but this place is unique. She was probably one of nicest, if not the nicest owners I've met during our wine adventures all over the US.

I prefer dry - semi-dry wines. I normally do not try sweet wines that often. However, all of their wines were good. The Cabernet Franc and elderberry were my two favorites. I look forward to stopping here again when we are in the area.

Oh, and the band was a one-man band. This guy I think was Rolando Pizana. He was very awesome! I highly recommend visiting this place. It will be worth your while.

Cool venue, excellent customer service, great food, and a nice selection of wines to choose from. We'll be back based simply on the customer care!

What a great, comfortable place to stop for a great sandwich and a wine slushy! We got two Reuben sandwiches which were the biggest Reubens I have ever seen, loaded with plenty of meat! A very reasonable cost for this dinner, and the staff is so friendly and nice. A great place to go out for dinner at and not go broke! The music was live and he was very good. An overall great experience AGAIN. This is a must try in Holmes County!
