Doc's Country Store

I come here on occasion for breakfast because as far as I know, this is the only place in town where I can get hash browns. I am including pictures of the breakfast and lunch menus.

The place is decked out with examples of Southern Americana and if a visitor wishes to see what life in the south was like decades ago, they can explore the museum, country store, and homestead that are located onsite.

Back to the food, though, because that's why I'm here today. I enjoyed a breakfast of two eggs, bacon, and hash browns along with toast and a bottomless glass of sweet tea. The bacon was a little undercooked today, but I like my bacon a little crisper than most, so everyone else would probably be okay with it. Other than that, everything else was spot on! Oh! Just a real quick PSA: be aware that if you get the pancakes they are plate sized and extremely filling. I messed up once and got the large order of them and could not finish them! Also, be patient as everything is cooked to order in the order in which it was received. It takes a bit longer to get your meal, but it is always hot and fresh.

Overall, Doc's is a wonderful little Mom and Pop place on the side of the road in a small South Alabama town - just the kind of place I like to visit when I'm on the road.

This place was amazing. The store had so much cute stuff and the aesthetic was really pretty. The food was really good. My cheeseburger was exquisite. The home fries were a little crunchy for my taste but still good. The staff were all super nice. Also I had NO problems entering with my medical alert service dog. :)

A gem of a find, great country store with a old fashioned country kitchen restaurant.

Stopped for breakfast headed back to Arkansas. VERY GOOD food!! Reasonably priced and employees were friendly and helpful. If you want a good home cooked breakfast drop by on your way thru. You’ll love it!

I rarely stop by, because I rarely go to Opp. (Less than once a year). So I didn't know the store had burned. I used to stop by often when I had a different job that had me passing through twice a week. It's heartbreaking, I loved the friendly staff and selection of goods. I wanted to get some Pappy's hot sauce and peanut butter taffy, those were my favorites. I hope y'all can open again one day.

I have lunch here every day during the week and I wouldn't eat anywhere else!!!

This is a great place to stop for lunch! We were heading home from Grayton Beach a couple years ago and stopped to check this place out.
Decided to stay for LUNCH. We had fresh catfish, hushpuppies, coleslaw and fresh brewed iced tea. All made from scratch and very tasty.
There is a full restaurant in the back of this country store. The store itself sells fresh honey, jams, and lots of other items. We are planning to go there again this September on our way home again. Really enjoy it!!!

Tracy is the best cook ever! Docs is truly blessed to have such an amazing cook! Also, she's a super friendly hard working lady! In my opinion she should be running the place!

Great food and service! Love their chicken salad sandwich and homestyle fries. Take time to look thru the shop also. Plenty of parking.
