Was in a rush for three two inch bolts and nuts. Later that day I review receipt indicates $2 for shipping and handling !!! This was a counter sale. Called and said it was because we had to open bag... Then the total was unreasonable, $16. What !! is there a NASCAR sticker fee I missed? What a rip off. Clerk was nice though.

Fastenal is a terrible company. Unless you are a consistent buyer with high volume and an account, the prices are completely outrageous. They usually don't have what you need in stock, however they can usually get it the next day. But again, it's going to be very expensive, even if you're buying 500 to a 1,000 pieces or more. Years ago, the store was able to negotiate prices at the store level. Now, everything is set by corporate and account pricing, and no discounts are given that aren't related to your account discount which is related to your volume and purchase history. There are plenty of other fastener suppliers out there like Wurth, Tri-City Bolt, and Pinellas Fastener, all with very reasonable pricing.

Went in for some bolts didn't not have in stock sent me to another store located 30 minutes away even called to find out for me if they had the bolts I needed and said they did, great. Get there I come to find out they're to short by a quarter inch. Go back to the store to let him know I was not pleased and to see what went wrong, if you guessed the gentleman COULDN'T READ A RULER you would be correct.
