This place was fantastic. We paid $25 for ski rental instead of $85 at the resort. It's very cramped compared to other places we have been for rentals, but they handled everything pretty efficiently and the skis we got were fine. You do have to wait outside a few minutes for them to get the rentals together. They also waxed our board and did a good job.

I made the mistake and bought my equipment NOT from this store. They have a huuuuge selection and the staff know everything you need to know(I'm a beginner). We also made the mistake to rent from the resort the first night because we didn't research local rentals. The second night we all rented from Powder Shack and it was better equipment and much cheaper.

FABULOUS experience! Stumbled upon this shop by chance, and badly needed skis waxed and sharpened, and bindings reset. The staff were friendly, including the house German Shepherds, and got my skis in good shape by the next day! Reasonable pricing. If you need ski gear, this store is crammed to the gills with it—don’t let the small appearance fool you.

Honestly one of the best winter sports places you can go to where they will have everything you need. I have rented equipment from them and bought equipment they take there time to fit you with the proper equipment and don't just make you buy. We travel all over the country and come across alot of winter sports ski/snowboard shops and they just rush you and don't even know what you bought. Not at the POWDER SHACK they treat you like family. We have been going to the Powder Shack for over 10yrs and they never disappoint. Thank you again my daughter Desiree loves her new snowboard bindings they are great her control is on point will see you soon next time we are in the area. I bought my bindings here. Absolutely love them. The employees were very knowledgeable and helped me find the best bindings that suited me. My sister also bought bindings here and both are in the attached picture. I also get all my tech work done here and I am always tremendously satisfied!

Employees were polite and very helpful, giving tips on what fits your style of riding. A man named Kane helped find the perfect boots for me, comparing prices, performance, color, and style to help me decide. Definitely recommend going here if you’d like help in choosing what fits you best.

After almost a decade of going to the Powder Shack, I can tell you this is a GREAT place for rentals and any outfitting for skiing/snow boarding. The owner is awesome and her team puts customer service as a priority for everyone. I highly recommend this for your winter sports needs.

I’ve been both a customer and an employee here and they never cease to amaze me. They service is amazing and the owner takes great care of the shop, it truly is an awesome place to be. On top of that the employees there are all so nice especially the owner and her two sons. Truly an amazing job, would definitely recommend you to come here for rentals, gear, everything you need for winter sport/recreation.

Excellent customer service, strong knowledge base, lots of options. Powder Shack was the place I needed to fit this righteously shaped left foot of mine into a women’s snowboarding boot. Samuel and Melanie went above and beyond for me taking the time to troubleshoot the best boot for my specific foot shape. They were so patient and kind. I’d recommend anyone looking for fabulous customer service, a light and friendly atmosphere, and the sweetest pups on earth to head to Powder Shack!

We've been going since they opened 10 years ago, renting skis for 4-6 people each time. They've always been super easy and helpful. Considering it's a physically small shop, it's packed with clothing and gear, and is a great place to stock up before you hit the slopes. Prices seem decent compared to what you'd see online - a touch more, but worth it being able to try on and get advice.

The customer service was incredible and the people were very kind and very helpful while I was in the shop. The daily rentals they sold were for a very good and understandable price and we’re in good condition. The next time I go snowboarding I will for sure come back to Powder shack and rent again.

The Powder Shack staff is one of the most knowledgeable staff that you could hope for in a Ski and Snowboard shop ( they could be put up against any shop in any industry and give them a run for their money 👍 )

My recent experience is with a pair of Solomon SPro ski boots purchased from them in 2022. With that purchase, I received boot fitting service for life. A year later, I returned hoping to get a few hot spots worked out of my boots and Sam, their main bootfitter, helped me for 3 hours as he professionally addressed all of the areas. I was very impressed and grateful that he treated me with the same care and passion as the first day I purchased the boots. I left extremely happy, and most importantly, with extremely comfortable a well fitting ski boots.

I’ve been coming here for years and I honestly have no idea how they manage to fit more gear in this shop every time but they do! The space is packed floor to ceiling with all the best brands and they sell products real riders can get behind. They have a little bit of everything from entry-level to top of the line gear and will help you find what’s best for your riding style. They also have the absolute best deal on rentals around! Recently I was sold a pair of ski boots that had a manufacturer defect, and with zero hesitancy - they warrantied and replaced my boots in the next week. Bought my first pair of snowboarding boots here tonight, and the staff was super friendly, very knowledgeable, and accommodating. They were extremely patient, and worked with us until we found what we were looking for. Worth the drive from C’ville!

I came in there with a broken ski and they helped me out and patched it up a bit so I can ski the rest of the day, the staff was really friendly and they know their stuff so if you need anything done to your skis or snow board be sure to check them out.

Best snowboard shop in the valley. High quality rental equipment at a price that beats all nearby competitors, including the local ski resort. Employees and management were upfront with their policies, and so my party and I had no issues. I understand some people have had trouble with compliance to these policies in the past, but I assure you it is an extremely smooth process if you are an unproblematic individual. My family has come every year - no issues.
