Alamo City Liquor

I really need to stay away from here. Every time I go in, I stop and talk to Alex, the manager, and end up buying much more than I had planned on! This place is a hidden gem, if you need a bottle of something to make whatever drink you were making, call or stop in, they probably have it. From Absinthe to Zoco (not really sure, but needed a Z) and different bitters and mixers in between, get it here. If you need a recommendation on something specific, ask, they probably have an idea of what you need.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this store. I literally live 30 min away and I will drive to this store to make sure to ask Alex the best things to buy. I also always go in wanting like one thing and come out with three because Alex is that good! Need a hard to find delicious tequila? This is your store!

great selection of liquor at good prices. Alex is super fun to hang out with and talk to. Tony was also very helpful.

Extremely friendly staff, a constant series of tasting events, and an impressive selection of hard liquor make this an amazing store. The beer selection is limited however, though you can apparently place a pick up order, which is nice. I can recommend this if you are looking for quality hard liquors and sample bottles, I would look elsewhere if you are looking for tons of beer and don't want to place a pick up order.

Best liquor store in town. Alex is an absolute doll and so sweet. Hands down she provides the best and friendliest customer service I've ever experienced in a liquor store! She gets to know her customers and creates a great experience for anyone coming in to shop.

Mama tequila (Alex) was the best liquor store employee I’ve ever had the luck to meet. She is incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, I felt like she was an old friend after only a few minutes of knowing her. She needs a raise!

I went during a gin tasting and everyone was very friendly at this store. Definetly coming here for all my bottles!

Oh man this is a dangerous place!!! I have a difficult time walking in here because the selection is over the top and crazy good!!! I was looking for rum and boy do they have it. I’m amazed at the volume. They’ve got bottles stacked from the floor to the ceiling. Alamo City Liquor will not disappoint you!!! I recommend the Hamilton brand rums.

Amazing staff! Always helpful with their suggestions when I don't know what I want 😳 so many choices😳 and I haven't been disappointed yet!!
Need something that's not in stock and they'll order it for you and point you to something delicious to hold you over until it arrives!!

The customer service at this store is exceptional, at least for me anyway. I'm disabled and have a hard time walking and always Imperial of falling down no matter who the cashier is. They will always help me to the car. With the things that i've bought ,this is the only place that I buy my liquor. I work near there, and I will actually wait till i'm by their store to buy what I need. The employees are always happy to assist you.

Alex is the best! I love this store, I’ve just started getting into the world of liquor and every time I come in I leave with something new that I love. Even the other staff are also very knowledgeable and friendly.

Excellent business. They have an extraordinary selection. Items I thought were unavailable in San Antonio. Small business with a vast inventory. Alex is the definition of customer service and knows her stuff. Prices are slightly higher than Total Wine, but just by a couple of dollars, I'm fine with that because I'd rather support a mom and pop place instead of a big box store.

This was hands down the single greatest liquor store experience in all of my many years. Alex was our cashier / guide to all things good. She was welcoming, kind, helpful, and simply everything that is good about our Great City. God bless Alex, and God bless San Antonio. Go Spurs Go.

I came to Alamo City Liquor to buy some tequila and some whiskey for a graduation party. Alex was at the front and was an absolute doll! She knew her products well, what I might like and not like, and was very hospitable. If you’re unsure of what you want they offer small samples of any inventory they might have open, and are very proud of their local selections of spirits. It was a 10/10 review for a liquor store and I definitely recommend letting Alex help you shop for new brands of spirits if she is there. Awesome!!!!

I'd say this is easily the best liquor store I have ever personally been in. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and holy heck this place has an amazing whiskey selection! Bourbon collecting has become my new favorite Friday hobby and Alex @ Alamo always seems to know just what to suggest. I have a lovely assortment of bourbon currently thanks to this store and I look forward to continuing to grow my collection thanks to their extensive stock. Honestly, I just really dig Alamo Liquor; they're awesome in all the right ways!

Love this place! Alex is very knowledgeable of all the liquors and has yet to let me down with any of her recommendations. They have so many selections, every local booze you can think of. If you’re looking for something rare they probably have it, I’d not they will order it or find it for you. Great service and prices. This is my liquor store of choice.
