This place is really cool. Oldest general store in the state of California. Lots of neat decor and antiques inside. The staff is very nice and helpful. Great place for lunch. Get a burger from the grill or a tri tip sandwich, food is so good. Just a real neat place.

Such a great place, welcoming and friendly. Amazing food, just had the turkey, pesto, jack and roasted red pepper panini for lunch, it was exceptional

Love this hometown general store! Hamburgers are spot on and other food is deliciously homemade. The atmosphere is so relaxing. We love their wine list of local offerings and the service is so friendly and they really make you feel at home. There are not many Mom and Pop’s left anymore so if you are looking for a neighborly friendly place, give this place a try!

Great place for casual dining. The hamburgers were fire roasted and delicious! Service was also great!
P.S.-Check out the cool vintage stuff in the store section too.

Amazing oldest general store in California built of stone in 1858. Check out the grill for yummy grub and local wines.

We did not eat or drink here, but we VERY much appreciated the friendly staff members allowing us to look around and see the FANTASTIC assortment of antiques and artifacts from over the 170+ years the store has been open. What a great treasure to have kept all these years. A must visit!

I stopped in today for a burger with a friend. Gretchen made us a fabulous burger! Rustic, homey decor, it was just east to be there. I’ll definitely go back to try the rib eye sandwich.

Quaint old store/restaurant in a quaint old town.  Supposedly, this is the oldest continually-running store in California.

My wife and I stopped here for a meal.  The food was very good, the staff very friendly and helpful, and the younger of the two cooks/waitresses/whatever_you_call_them is incredibly cute.

My hamburger was exceptionally good, and my wife very much liked her quesadilla as well.

This place is really cool. Great service and a fun loving owner who enjoys sharing the history of the store with those who engage in conversation. Love music on weekends in the summer as well as comedy shows. Grab a bite to eat from their very basic but delicious menu and have a nice time in the back woods of old mining country in Volcano, CA!

Great old historic place to visit. Tommy Sizemore puts out a great BBQ meal. Authentic buildings, great gold country history, and if your lucky you can catch a show at the outdoor amphitheater.

A great stopping point on any tour through the foothills, this place is worth the visit. I have gone many times and the owner is friendly and the store stocked with a tasty menu. My last trip was egg salad with bacon and avocado and a side of macaroni salad. Absolutely delicious! I bring motorcycle tours to this town and this store is one of the places we frequent for lunch. If you have an auto club, motorcycle group or are out wine tasting...pay a visit. I am sure you will be glad you did.

Our first visit to this quaint town and we walked into this place looking for some lunch. Debbie, the owner, made us feel at home. She offered to bring our food to the park across the street so we could eat it there. She even lent us a table cloth. Two sandwiches and drinks for under $20.

Unfortunately, Debbie is selling the store (its in escrow), and she won't be staying around to run it.

This place is amazing. The country store has alway been a great place for a quick bite. But the new owners have done amazing cleaning it up and breathing life back into it. It does get a bit busy and if your looking for a formal sit down dinner, just walk to the other end of the street and have a drink at the bar and sit at the hotel restaurant. Volcano has alway been a cute cozy town to visit, and Ihave many memories coming here with my grandpa and my dad. But now it is absolutely amazing . It is so nice to see so much life and happiness in this town I love so much. And I love being able to bring my children now to have a day with their grandparents and parents, making similar loving memories as I have growing up out here.
