My parents have used this convenience store/gas station for years. I have recently moved back to TN and will be using it myself.

Awful Outstate company that purchased all Roadrunners and every other convenient store in Johnson City area from 2017 - 2018, thus, by having state laws changed in 2015, before going on a buying spree in area with foreign investment funds, they virtually have a monopoly on convenient stores in the area and changed laws done by the business-friendly repubs in area now make it seriously difficult for new start-up or buying existing stores. . Roadrunners used to be the most cleanest stores I had ever shopped in the 42 states, even outside at gas pumps but, after just 4 years of owners that are just after top returns on their investment - the stores are crumbling to pieces. Again and again the pump areas have the same signs of widespread neglect with cobwebs and insects making long term homes in the pumps and roofing areas. Pumps that have built up grime. . The friendly multi-decade mgmt and staff are no longer and until recent in 2022 corporate had no employee wearing name tags for over 3 years. They stopped name tags the very week they took over all the stores in 2018. If a customer had a complaint they had no idea who to complain about and corporate forbade any employee to provide names - mgmt wouldn't even tell u their names. . The large local hqs was the same. They give a 1-800 and say u have to call the #, and guess where the center is located, hint, not by any chance locally, and guess what they ask for - name(s) - and if u can't give a name they stated not really much can be done other than record store site... What huge insult to simple intelligence by the owners the moment they took over even though they stated to local paper that nothing would change. That the highest standards of service, cleanest, & friendly staffing established decades ago by Broyle's family would never change. . Just lying greedy investment grab was all the buy/sell was about. The very week after they took over, new owners raised pieces on nearly item in stores across 9 stores I went and visually personally checked. The prices on sodas were raised from .30¢ to .49¢ and on and on with chips, candy, milk, ice cream, etc etc. Why instantly by new owners, it wasn't all the vendors and suppliers doing it in '18, no, the new owners with foreign investors wanted us to pay for the upfront loans (likely new infusion of funding by investors combined with actual lending) that were used to purchase the sale. By the now new owners have gotten that done and let the stores crumble piece by piece and become grimy and nasty vs the great conditions they were sold. . Friendly mgmt and staffing -- huge gamble and nothing but hit and miss -- it's obvious what owners care about the most - does it have to be commented on any further and what our business-friendly repubs care about the most - can we say - campaign donations when they come and calling and potential higher paying jobs for their families, close friends, other business associates in and around the area like when those associates' families wanted more than minimum wage jobs for 'their own'......
