This is without a doubt the best pipe and cigar shop in Alaska. You get a true sense of the tradition and experience as soon as you walk in. Whatever you're looking for in your tobacco needs, this shop has it all. Great selection of cigars/ pipes and hand blended tobaccos. If you enjoy the art of pipe smoking as I do, this place will make you smile. So glad I found this gem in Alaska!

Always a frequent visitor to the shop and made it in this week. Some great cigar discoveries and wow, an amazing pipe and pipe tobacco selection this winter.

As always, we had an amazing experience at G&P Fine Tobacco in Anchorage and we love the old school classic store. It’s refreshing to find a place that isnt obsessed with online / digital marketing of the art of cigars and pipe tobaccos. So where that relies on actual experience versus youtubers stores/staff learning and winging it.

The store itself is beautiful, neat, clean and best of all its classic. They have a great selection of premium cigars and smoking accessories. Their humidor selection is especially impressive, and everything is of the highest quality and most of all not overly focused on boutique or trendy.

As always, I highly recommend G&P Fine Tobacco to anyone in Anchorage looking for a great selection of cigars and excellent customer service. Five stars for their exceptional staff, quality products, and dedication to customer satisfaction for over 50 years as Alaska’s only real pipe and cigar shop and tobacconist.

Amazing store from the moment I walked in. They have a wide variety of cigars, tobacco blends and pipes. The entire store is set up professionally and gives a comfortable welcoming ambience. It’s easily distinguishable as one of the true class tobacco shops Alaska has to offer. The shop owner has a wealth of knowledge and made sure a new pipe smoker like myself was squared away on the intricacies of the art. He was very cordial and patient as he explained the different blends and what to look out for as a newbie. Excellent customer service as it will exceed your expectations.
The stores assistant Ellie gave a very nice and warm welcome as well as expecting a lot of friendly pets and ear scratches.
This is definitely a go to store for any cigar and pipe smoker as it is the best shop there is.

This will be one of my rare first impressions review because they deserve it! Staff are very knowledgeable and friendly; helping me through various choices without judgment plus with an open mind on my needs and what I'm looking for while enthusiastically answering my questions. While it may not be large, the shop is intelligently spaced out for their products, specifically the cigar selections with their walk-in humidor. You'll have a wide variety of loose tobacco, pipes, and cigars; with some limitation of lighters, hole punchers, and straight cutters.
-Only con being lack of V cutters.
Overall, I can highly recommend this shop for classy tobacco lovers, new smokers, and connoisseurs.
[Update]: Came back and brought in a starter pipe set that my step-father gifted me before he passed away. I was new to pipe tobacco smoking, but the staff/owner was very kind in showing me the ropes on starting out with my pipe. So I thank the gentleman for the tips and knowledge in handling and smoking my very first pipe tobacco. I purchased their tobacco; first smoke took a bit to hang onto but adapted quickly and is one of the most pleasant smoke I've enjoyed.

What an outstanding tobacco store! Finally, and I said finally found the only true pipe tobacco store in Alaska!!! If you are a novice, occasional, or experienced pipe smoker, this is the store (has cigars also)! I’ve looked all around Wasilla, Palmer, and anchorage for a good pipe tobacco store and this lil gem has finally been found. The gentleman has mastered half a century and century old recipes! What an assortment of invigorating selections! I’m telling you, I’m ecstatic that I’ve found this place! Stop in, you won’t regret it! Plus, you may get a nice history surprise on the origins of the recipes!!!

Excellent customer service from Ellie the black lab greeting you at the door to the folks behind the counter. I’m new to pipe smoking and they took the time to show me what I need and how to use it. Vast selection of tobacco and pipes, just tell them what you’re looking for and they’ll find it for you. Highly recommend!

Great vibes and great customer service. I’ve gone in a few times now and have always left with some great tobacco and fun knowledge. The guy there is very helpful in finding the right cigars.

I was able to call and describe the flavor I was looking for and they were able to pick out a few cigars that were exactly what I was wanted. Very professional, knowledgeable, and the best stop in anchorage to pick up fine tobacco products.

Real pipe and cigar shop. Love the customer service. Been going here for years. And Elle is a Wonderful smart dog who is a special greeter at the door.

I stop by with some friends to check out some of the cigars. The gentleman working there was very helpful and gave us good pointers as we had zero knowledge. Was a great experience also on the plus side they had a very cute and friendly dog.

I had my wife stop in to get me a few things and she came home with a wonderful assortment of goodies. The owner was extremely knowledgeable and kind to her, he explained things in detail for her to relate to me. I was over the moon happy with the pipe, tobacco pouch and tool she got me. Not to mention the wonderful Point Barrow pipe tobacco.

I came back in today and browsed the shop while listening to the owner carefully explain the selection to some other customers. When they checked out, he showed the same attention to detail and kindness to us.

Awesome experience, was very welcomed and learned a lot about pipe smoking and techniques. Extremely fair prices and worth every cent to support a small business. If I wasn't leaving Alaska I would go back on the regular.

So this was my first time in G & P. Small place, but I'm a big guy lol. I was immediately greated by the shop dog. A beautiful sweet dog with lots of love it was giving. Next, was the wonderful smell of the pipe tobacco. I was looking to see if they had any Spanish Cedar I could buy for my travel case. The gentleman quickly got my their last Cedar sheet. He told me enjoy and I could have it. I then asked for a recommendation for a cigar that was mild to medium in strength, creamy for after dinner. He had me follow to the humidor room and suggested a Macanudo Inspirado. It was a wonderful cigar I enjoyed today after a early family Xmas dinner. This is a shop I will will be back to buy and learn from. Wonderful knowledge and family tradition in this shop. Could not ask for more in a brick and mortar shop that has been serving people for 50 years.

Walked in off the street looking to take up pipe smoking. I was Helped to choose my first pipe and given an extremely informative lesson on how to fill, light, and smoke the pipe. After my first experience I can say with confidence that I will be revisiting this store for anything related to fine tobacco and encourage others to do so as well.

Fantastic little shop dedicated to classic tobacco: Pipes and cigars only. This is the best shop of its kind in Alaska. Good selection of cigars and a great selection of pipe tobacco and pipes. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and loves his job. I picked up some helpful tips for pipe smoking and am looking forward to his recommended pipe tobacco. (Edit: the recommended tobacco, called Buckskin, is excellent!)
If you are looking for quality tobacco and excellent service, this shop should be your first stop.

Update: I’ve been going here for several months now and I’ve learned more about pipes and pipe tobacco from the owner in the past several months than the 16 years I’ve been smoking a pipe. Always a pleasure to visit. I cannot recommend this place enough.

If your looking for a first class traditional tobacco shop look no further than G&P. I have been buying Stoney’s blend pipe tobacco from G&P for over 30 years. During that time they have had ups and downs but have survived when many shops across Alaska and the country have disappeared. I now live in Oregon but still order a pound of Stoney’s a couple of times a year. If you smoke a pipe or love a good cigar check G&P out in person or on line.
