The Outpost

This place is a great little gift shop and you can see all things desert. I would have missed it if I were not looking for it. It is small but a very quaint store. I went inside and found a wonderful collection of rocks and handmade things. They have necklaces, earrings, desert books, and clothes to keep anyone warm in the cold desert night. The gentleman who runs the place told me that some of the stuf, in the shop , is made from things found in the Mojave Desert. They had a scorpion on display and other bugs. (not alive) The guy who runs the place is nice and very knowledgeable about all things desert. They also have refreshments you can buy. If you are looking for an inexpensive gift and you happen to be driving through the desert, on your way to Las Vegas. Stop by and take a look. I did buy a turtle necklace. I love nature. This store brought back some in time. Nostalgia.

Nice little place to purchase some neat stuff. Me personally, I come here often for the jerky more than anything. It was love at first bite when we stopped the first time been going back since. Really good jerky. All of it. These are just a few. Also the pictures were taken while riding home from here. Kinda sloppy picture taking sorry

LOVE LOVE LOVE this spot. Really cool shop with great stuff. The young man working that afternoon was very informative and was even able to steer us in the direction of some other cool things going on in the area while we stayed.

I enjoy this stopping by this place when I pass through. Staff is nice and they have good beef jerky of various types. Went there recently for a gem and mineral show and another time when I bought a book on Sage for my wife.

Was driving by, taking the long way from Lancaster. A lot of cool gifts. But the jerky, such a good price and so delicious I ate a bag within 10 min. I appreciate the people at this store the women were super sweet. Check it out while ya stretch your legs. Peruse the store then stand outside and check out the miles of Joshua trees and enjoy the fresh desert air.

Truly a hidden gem in the middle of the Mojave desert. The spot is worth the trip they have lots of exotic rocks and fossils and the most reasonable price pieces. I've ever seen. The highest quality at the lowest prices for sure!

Very kind Kyle at The Outpost shared his genius knowledge of beef jerky with us, along with giving us great information about the various jewellery, clothes and other souvenirs available there !

I can't say enough good things about this place I love it and the staff is so great.. I haven't been in a while but best believe I'm gonna make the trip soon I miss my girl. And for sure pick up some jerky I join club and it was so worth it... They have so many great things here you can for sure find something for everyone you love..

Great place to stop and grab a jerky snack, not too expensive and a variety of flavors from not too spice to ghost pepper flavored jerky. My boyfriend and I stop and grab some to go whenever we're in town so we joined their I guess you can call it a beef jerky club. I recommend it!! Great trinkets as well and I always find something I want each time we go. The cashier is always helpful, really nice and chill and not pushy to buy things from there which makes you want to buy things, well at least I feel like that. I say stop and look around, you won't regret it!!

Love this place and the owners and workers . Best Outpost ever . Wonderful gifts , jewelry etc . And I always stop in on my 3 hour trip home from Tehachapi to at least get the best brisket jerky EVER !!! Always a pleasant place to stop for a rest too . Thanks for always showing me and I'm sure all other customers a very nice time .

Amazing hospitality, coolest guy I ever met and a wide range of interesting products to buy. I was sceptical about the gourmet ghost pepper jerky being legit...but it even has the ghost pepper seeds visible on the jerky and was very very hot and stinging! Oh and it was delicious and firm. Also recommend the veal jerky. Boar is similar but slightly sweet and softer.
Also bought a stone with a frog on it. :)

Amazing little shop with souvenirs little to large, easy place to find a nice gift whilst on vacation. Also some exotic jerky!

Cutest shop! Great jerky!! My son loved all the gemstones and mineral. When we walked out a minute ago he said he could live there! Hopefully stop again on our way back through!
