Food City

I really liked my visit to Food City yesterday because the layout made finding things easy, and all the staff I encountered were helpful, and the customer service was just great. I needed to select economical items needed to prep, as well as to pick up all the makings for my homemade tamales.

I really loved the $16 beautiful pork should butt. The 2 options for prepared masa in a more convenient 5 lb pack were perfect for my needs. I found everything i needed very quickly. I loved their wonderful and very intense selection of authentic Mexican fresh and dry chili's, prepared sauces, and herbs and conveniently placed together, making access easy. I was immediately inspired, just thinking about all the future meals I would make for my man whose favorite food is Mexican. I may have gone a little - no a lot overboard with must haves I dreamt of using later! No regrets here. I can't emphasize enough about how great the prices were at Food City vs. all the other very expensive block chain markets, often with limited selections. Some of my best finds I encountered, some of them for the first time and all of them with excellent prices were Adobe con sazon, Pollo Asado, Goya Recaito Culantro cooking base, a large Maggi Caldo boullion, and Chipotle peppers in Adobe sauce. As you can see, I highly recommend Food City for their great selection and even better prices. I am long-winded and a very appreciative and grateful shopper here.

Didn't get her name, but the cashier working register 1 (if i recall the only register open) on 4/14 around 8:00 PM. By far, she is the fastest/ most efficient cashier I have ever experienced, anywhere.

Good place for cheaper produce

I wish they had higher limits on their sale items. Who can make a decent amount of guacamole with only 6 avocados?

Perfect butchery here on this side of town. This food city offers the best cuts for a low price. Very appreciated in this economy. All ingredients in this photo are from this food city. Perfect staff for recommending meats.

It was a great place to shop, way better than Wal-Mart, they even have real life checkers that are friendly, prices are lower than Wal-Mart.

Mainly go here for the meat deals that they have. They're pretty reasonable compared to even Walmart.

Went to the veterinarian next door,might just be the very best veterinarian in all of South tucson/picture rocks area!!

Staff are so amazing. Steve in the deli area is always friendly and helpful. Oscar is the cleaning tech, always making sure the areas are very clean. Bonnie and Mercy is always very helpful and courtesy to all customers.

They have updated their in-stock items to include some brand names. Their baked rolls are delicious. If you are from the east coast and missing amoroso or liscios, this food city has something better. They are very good and I have been able to solidly replicate cheesesteaks any east coast transplant would compare to home.... Not the soggy ones from Pat's or Gino's, (though you could), the ones from real pizza shops. Also their doughnuts are huge and are very tasty. Produce is fresh and super reasonable.

They offer great deals on their produce. The cafeteria inside the store is the best!! The carne asada is full of flavor and the vegetables soup is delicious. Great flavor and good prices. The cafeteria now has Cocoa Agua Fresca!!! Yay me!!

I like to shop there on wednesday. I usually get produce.

Great prices, especially on produce

This was our first visit to this store and we were delightfully surprised by the selection . Specially focused on Hispanic food culture groceries.

The store is always great smells, fresh smelling. The fruit and vegetables are great displays and bakery has delicious goods

I love this Food City. I know who cuts my meat. The produce guys are all friends and they keep the produce section fresh and beautiful. Shopping here feels like a small town supermarket. The entire staff is friendly and knows you and your family. Always clean and we'll stocked. Best Food City in Tucson!

I want to give this food city location 5 ⭐ The reason why is because they have three employees that are very professional very helpful friendly kind always with a great attitude very positive always with a smile and it’s people like these that keep us customers coming back Young lady at the deli by the name of Melva , And two wonderful cashiers by the names of Diana , Biatriz. These are the types of people that food city needs at every location great attitude very positive and always smiling

Great deals on Fresh Produce that change every day you have to keep your eyes on the prize. I also have an absolute addiction to their green chili rotisserie chicken. I don't know how they make it but the flavor is so good. Try the house made Salsa's as well. There are some things here that are great values you just have to stay on top of it and since they're nearby to my house I stopping often to see what might be found. A very good selection of specialty Mexican foods including meat, cheese, bread, sweets, everything you might need spice wise pepper wise or any other specialty good. It's a real favorite of mine 4 the fresh produce at very good prices especially. And those fresh salsas I wish I could make a salsa like that!

They had a great price on T-bone steaks. Cooked two for dinner; very tender!

Sadly, a fellow patron reported, to the cashier, that some teens just stole some merchandise! She gave chase, to no avail.

Love this store cleaner! Fresh produce, the Manager can't be beat. Jumps right in to help his employees , customer and cashiers. Never have I seen a great working store like this before!!!
