That’s clearly reflected in this lovingly curated showroom gallery. Mr Akbar has a truly remarkable collection of unique textiles. Each a class of its own. The quality of the workmanship is evident. Every piece is a joy to behold. He proudly showed us around his pride & joy. We conversed as much as we could due to language constraint. But his genuine love of the craft shines through. If you’re out to get that one piece of exquisite Suzani… here is where you’ll most likely find it!

Gorgeous textiles

After few minutes looking around, and one question about the fabric, the man refused to tell me the price of some pieces, “it’s too expensive for you, and you French people, you never buy”.
Trying to explain that I was interested to buy, I didn’t manage to get prices.
Wonderful… You’ll find more somewhere else, strange way to sell.

We 4 girls tried to walk inside but the seller/host told us “it’s the shop for serious people”. Sounded ridiculous🤪. Try to imagine people can be not serious but with interest and money🤡
