Historical site worth visiting. You can wonder around at your own pace and see ruins from Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine, Venetian and Ottoman civilisations. You can easily spend 2-3hrs wondering around. I would recommend starting at the museum. 1000 Lek entry fee.

A breathtakingly stunning place. Beautiful azure sea, lush landscape, historical ruins from the Hellenic, Roman and Medieval periods. I only wish I could have spent more time exploring here. I'd recommend getting a boat trip to the castle, it was very special to see and enjoy the view on the way. If you're anywhere near this you have to visit to experience its beauty and tranquility. I'd recommend spending a whole day here to fully enjoy in a relaxing manner.

A chance to wander ancient ruins, almost by ourselves.

We visited on October 1st from 5-630pm. Outside of peak tourist season and during golden hour, this spot was perfect though we forgot to bring bug spray and the mosquitoes had their way with us.

It’s a beautiful and historic place that you can explore at your own pace. Fun to imagine the large city that existed for hundreds of years here.

Exploring this historical site offers a captivating journey back in time, allowing you to witness an array of ancient buildings and constructions that date back thousands of years. While the remains may not always be fully intact, they provide a fascinating glimpse into the lives of those who inhabited this area in ancient times. To truly appreciate Butrint, one must be prepared to engage their imagination and piece together the rich history from the fragments that remain.

What makes Butrint even more compelling is the tapestry of civilizations that have called this place home over the centuries. One of the park's standout features is its natural surroundings. The abundance of trees provides ample shade, making it a comfortable destination even on sunny days. This harmonious blend of history and nature creates a truly unique and awe-inspiring atmosphere that sets Butrint apart.

In conclusion, a visit to Butrint National Archaeological Park is a must for history enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. Stunning archaeological site with various different points of interest from various different points of history. Greek, Roman, Byzantine, and Venetian. This is a must when in Albania.
The down point is it isn't very well signposted, so I would recommend trying to book a guided tour.
The real star of this place is the location. It's a lagoon meeting the sea through a narrow channel at the site, with the various colours of the water in different points backed by the mountains in the background.
5 stars alone for the site. But the natural beauty is phenomenal.
Simply wow.

Butrinti, one of the most wonderful destinations, is a cultural and very ancient park, in a perimeter of 2 or 3 square kilometers you can see many works of antiquity, while all the time you are accompanied by tall and beautiful trees, It is a wonderful place and worth visiting. The amphitheater is the perfect place for photos The castle is the perfect place to relax and see the life of Roman and Illyrian Antiquity up close... I have visited it several times and I go again.. I invite you too The ticket costs only 7 euros per person and you can stay as long as you want.

Amazing park with lots to see. There’s also locals with souvenir stands with hand crafted original items.
There’s also a tiny museum with archeological finds and to top it all off there’s beautiful scenery to admire from the top of the old castle.
Entrance costs about 10 euros (1000 lek).

So much history to be learned there. The view from the castle is amazing, much worth the walk through the ancient ruins and its surroundings.
Went in late October, not crowded and weather still absolutely beautiful.

A proper History lesson. Our guide was fantastic! Dori or Dory, not sure how to spell it. She really enjoys what she does. She works with or to Ionian Cruises. Besides telling us all the history of Butrint, she also told us a bit of Albania's history. Loved it!

Such a nice place to visit and learn about the history of butrint and Albania. We spent about 3-4 hours there and really enjoyed it. However I don’t think it’s a good place to take kids to.

Tickets 10 euro because it’s protected by unesco. It’s worth it if you like history me and my girl not into history a lot but we enjoyed it we also made a video about it on youtube (Maykel and Maaike) there is info about the whole place and each section. the cool thing is that you see how it was in different centuries and what’s left quite few interesting information. It takes about 2-3 h the place is big there is toilets and cafe they open weekends and during the season. Don’t miss out the highest point on top of the museum. The museum is always open there is two entrance for it one is closed the other one is open from the top and there is seating with amazing view of the whole village. Our favorite part we saw in the museum that the sea level was way down and Corfu the greek island and sarande were connected as one land.

Very nice national park with archeological findings. Beautiful places in a city with a long history. Not too busy and a lot of shadow, so the heat was not too overwhelming. The site offers a lot of beautiful viewpoints. We spent around two hours here, which was enough. We didn't rush too much. However, it would have been possible to spend more time. Information flyers are available in a lot of different languages.

We enjoyed our walk around here. We came when it was a cloudy day so we didn’t get too hot. Lovely views and great history to look at.

I loved the archaeological park. It is probably the best one in Albania. They had an ancient theater, watch tower, and many others. I've been there many times, and it was always a good experience. 10/10.

Went early in the morning at the height of summer - plenty of parking early doors and lots of shade. Impressive area to walk around, lots to see and incredible views once you work your way up to the castle at the top.

Amazing place. It is a fascinating must-visit site with a rich history. The ruins are well-preserved and offer a glimpse into the ancient history of the area. Visitors can explore the ruins and learn about the Greek and Roman civilizations that once called the area home. The site is quite large, so it's best to set aside a few hours to explore it fully.

100% worth the visit, it’s really and interesting archeological site to know more about Albanian history. You can park the car just at the entrance, it seems crowded, but people arrive and leave constantly. The entrance is 1000 LEK.
