Hotel Villa Franceze

Highly recommend this place!
We stayed 3 nights, also nice for kids, even on rainy days. Highlight was - besides the very kind and helpful people - the tour by kayaks: beautiful view, lonely beach and little waterfall that we climbed up a bit.
Rooms are very clean and air-conditioned. Lots of stuff to do - board games, pool billiard, hang out at the private pier or stroll in the garden.
Would definitely go there again!

We stayed with our tents in the garden. We really enjoyed the lovely hospitality the Villa Franceze staff provided. They were kind enough to use the shower and the restroom for a small fee.

Also the beach and the lake view was stunning. If you are planning in camping outside near Shala river, this is definitely a great place for it!

Also a small advice, be prepared on the road quality that leads to Shala river, we came in at night and it was one hell of ride, but we still managed to do it with our small car :)

Loved this place and the story behind the house and property. The staff was absolutely wonderful and you really get that home feeling. The rooms have everything you need, they were warm thanks to the AC and the water in the shower was steaming hot. Everything is spotlessly clean! There's a big secure parking just in front of the house. They serve food for their guests and you can also get a nice cup of coffee or a cold beer. If you are staying at the Komani lake then I would definitely recommend this place!

It's clean, it's quiet, it's sincere. Nice big bathroom even if it's the "wet room" type. Comfy beds and additional bed for our 4 yo was provided without cost. The AC works and it's quiet. There are external blinds for all the windows that can transform the room almost into a dark room. All the hotel is surrounded by fence and the entrance is controled by video surveillance, therefore safe free parking. There is a beach/acces to the lake but haven't had the time to check it out.
All in all, it's a less than 5 stars experience but for the money being asked by the lady of the house, this place most definitely deserves 5 stars.

A definite 5/5 stay! Great hospitality, services, cleanliness and location. Super convenient for Fierz ferry. Cherry on the cake is their beach/lake with breathtaking views! Highly recommend!
P.S if you get to meet Andreas, do ask him about his Bike trips and Mongolian drive! :D

Very close to komani lake. 5-7 min drive. They can also transfer you for 1 euro.
The staff were excellent. So helpful! Great atmosphere.
The scenery around the villa is mesmerizing.
Only downside: wifi speed in the room.
You can have a breakfast buffet for 3 euros.
Dinner to be booked early. 12 euros for 2 courses meal and a glass of drink.

Stayed one night at Vila Franceze before leaving to Valbona with the ferry. Communication with Andrea went smoothly a couple of hours before we arrived. Room was clean and had an airconditioning. Appetizer, dinner and wine were really tasty. Breakfast was good as well.

Had the best time here. Thank you so much to the awesome friendly staff for the beautiful clean rooms, the delicious food and the great services. The lake was beautiful and the fruit trees created a magical vibe. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Stunning location on the river. Helpful staff. Comfortable beds. Clean & tidy. Good facilities. Delicious breakfast. Beautiful history of the family run hotel. Access to kayaks, beach front, an awesome pier. It's a great place to relax and use as a base for exploring the area.

The place was simple but extremely lovely, calm, owned by one of the most gentle and nice woman I ever met. The area was wonderful, with an direct access to a superb lake where you can take a nice swimm during hot summer months. The dinner is simple but good enough when you consider what the owner has to undertake to bring food to this area (3h drive back and forth). Highly recommended!

We didn’t slept there but the staf was very helpful to prepare a nice meal all-trough it wasn’t dinner time. No menu but very what we got was good. Good price for quality! Thank you so much for your service.

We stayed in the villa and were highly impressed by the clean rooms with the conditioner, personal beach and most of all by the hospitality of the owners. We had to leave early and they agreed to make the early breakfast for us. They were very much helpful upon any question. Breakfast was perfect. The host makes good coffee.
Best service in Albania

Staying here is a great way to enjoy the komani lake ferry ride without spending many hours driving up and back in the same day. There is a nice place to lounge by the lake, excellent food and drink, and some nice hiking right across the street to an archeological site. Would recommend for anyone wanting a quiet night in the mountains who wants some extra fresh air, especially to break up the long journey in and out of Komani Lake.

The best hotel in Albania till now. We liked the view, the room with the conditioner and the balcony, good breakfast and tasty coffee.
Owners have homemade wine, which was also good.

A very nice accommodation, recently renovated, with a fresh image and very very clean.
They have good parking spots, a nice garden around and big place for serving the breakfast or spending the evening for playing some society games or reading some books.
The owners are very friendly and welcoming.

Very friendly owner, authenticity of the place is very welcoming. Nice surroundings with a big terrace overlooking the mountains and lake. The breakfast is outstanding, with freshly made jams, bread, eggs etc.

The owner of this hotel is most likely the hardest working and kind hearted person I’ve met in a long time. He seems to run the hotel mostly on his own. The hotel itself is great, breakfast is fantastic. The only negative thing I could come up is that the walls are rather thin. Nevertheless, it’s the best hotel in town

My boyfriend and I, decided to do something different last weekend. We tried visiting North Albania, even though the weather wasn't promising at all.
It took us about 3 hours to drive there.
The road was amazing and the view breathtaking. A wonderful experience!
We had previously booked at Vila Franceze and when we went there, the owners welcomed us in the best possible way ever.
They took us on a tour to view their property(huge place btw). All kinds of fruit trees that were just about to bloom.
The room had air conditioning, free wi-fi everywhere you go inside the hotel and delicious breakfast.
The owners drove us to see the Komani Hydropower and told us about an archeological site near the hotel, which we hope to visit it next time we go there.
We also had dinner twice at the hotel, cause we stayed 2 nights and it was amazing. The owners suggested us a nearby restaurant that we could go to( we took the food to eat at the hotel).
Highly recommend it!
Especially in the summer, where you can swim in the lake in front of the hotel.

Small hotel run as family heritage near the shore of lake Komani.
The property was taken by the communist government from the grandpa of the current operator, and Amanzonas dad got it back in the 90s. She makes a nice place out of it.
Just first year in Operation, a good place to stay in Komani.

Helpful owner.. nice and clean hotel and she was very caring and let us do the laundry :)

Highly recommended.. but if you’re looking to do the river tour just ask about everything in advance…
