Wyndham San Jose Herradura Hotel & Convention Center

For us it was absolutely amazing. We had the king suite. Everything was clean, the price included the gym, breakfast and the pools. It was pretty nice to relax there at our last day in Costa Rica. Also free shuttles to the Airport. Special thanks to the Service, the employees there were super nice! Would definitely come again.

Perfect stay for one night not too far from the airports. Our room could use some cosmetic updating but the bed was comfortable. They provided bottled water and some cookies in our room. Lots of places to get snacks and food and the pools looked beautiful. Unfortunately, the hot tub wasn’t working, which was a bummer. Overall, it was quiet and comfortable and safe for a good price.

I was a bit concerned when looking at some other reviews. I almost canceled our reservations here. However, I'm glad I did not. I think some people were just over exaggerating. Hoping to get a free stay in the future. At least 3 restaurants on-site a casino and multiple pools. I hope to return someday.

Loved our stay here. Price was very reasonable for what you get and the amenities. Great pools and a hot tub, that is actually hot. Enjoyed the games area with a pool table where you can kill some time. The room was nice and cozy with a walk out right to the pool area which was awesome. Will be our go to spot next time we’re in SJO. Convenient location near airport but otherwise not much around nearby.

This was our one night stay in San Jose. It was pretty close to the airport and gated upon arrival. Check in was easy and the property was large. They had several pools. Our room was a double and it was large and had a huge bathroom. We slept well and had a good night's rest before our 3-4 hr drive the next day. They did lose power in the am which was a bummer cause I couldn't style my hair but it's to be expected when traveling. I would recommend staying here for a stop.

This hotel has a super nice staff. Some of the rooms are updated. We stayed in an updated room and it was very nice. The rooms are spacious, the ammenities are nice as well. The price is very good for the area. The location is good. There are still areas of the hotel that are very dated, but we were there a year ago and they are improving it little by little. Since it's an old hotel the rooms are much larger than the way hotel rooms are built in the new hotels. Once they have pulled out the remaining old carpet, and replace or refurbish the lobby furniture, this will be a real gem. But it's not a bad stay for the price. The staff makes a big difference, and I don't care how nice a hotel is if the staff is bad. This hotel really has a nice staff. Everyone was pleasant. Also an improvement from last year.

This place is just absolutely wonderful. The bmrooms are beautiful and clean. The property is well maintained with 2 pools and oversized jacuzzi. One of the pools has one of those poolside, swimup bars. There is also a fitness center with cardio, free weights and machine equipment. Not a lot of room to move around. Probably could not do walking lunges or a farmers carry in the place, but plenty of machines to choose from. And I never had to wait for any equipment although I am not travelling in the high season.

The staff are just fantastic. Housekeeping is always with smiles on their faces and the rooms are kept up very well.

They offer a breakfast option... my advice, take it. They always had scrambled eggs, rice and beans, hashbrowns and fried plantains. The other option changed up. Sometimes, there was a delicious sausage offering too. Many different types of breads were offered also and they always had a rather large variety of baked goods in the middle. Bit sized treats filled with chocolate, lemon cream, hazelnut, Omani chocolate. Plenty to satisfy any sweet tooth! Breakfast is all you can eat, but remember not to eat too much on vacation!

There is a casino on the property. Not a big gamer although I did donate to the poker tournament they held on Sunday afternoon. (By donate, I mean played and lost. They say if you don't see the sucker at the table, then you are the sucker. I didn't see any suckers this time though. 😕)

There is a little patio Cafe inside serving the rich Costa Rican Coffees and a great offering of cakes.

Then there is the real Cafe in the Hotel. I ate the Ceviche nearly every day. Absolutely delicious. I also indulged in their wings which are a great value for the money and delicious.

You can't go wrong here. Great place. Terrific location. Fantastic staff.

Nice rooms, bathtub needs to be reglossed. Actual bathtub and television. Hot water in the shower! Can flush toilet paper!

Initially, the room they gave us was horrendous but once I spoke up and showed them photos of the many things wrong with the room they were quick to remedy the situation and we were very satisfied in the end.

Great service, location and helpful. Would stay there again in my travels.

Great pool quiet Great comfortable beds so nice

During my staff here, I was confronted by helpful, courteous and knowledgeable staff.

Somehow we ended up with a top floor corner room that was actually like an apartment. Living room, small kitchen, big bedroom, huge bathroom with jacuzzi tub and a 2-sided balcony. Great staff and incredible view!

I loved it here! I especially love the ladies at the cafe downstairs. The coffee is delicious! They also have a variety of cakes, but I tried to stay away from the sugar. There is a restaurant and bar and a casino. They also have a little gift shop in the lobby and I fell in love with the handmade jewelry they have there.

Awesome hotel! It’s very well kept, close to the Highway and other local places. They have several pools in the property so they are not crowded with people. The staff was very friendly and helpful!

Beautiful hotel! We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and we received a complementary room upgrade! The room is nice and there are plenty of pools to choose from! There’s a Casino on sight and some restaurants open to choose from which made things fun & convenient! Kind, friendly staff members. Things to be mindful of: “Free Breakfast” is not included in every room so the advertising is not exactly accurate. Also, there is no airport shuttle to San Jose Airport even though it’s close by. They do offer a service for $20 that we were able to book who was professional and efficient.

I was pleasantly surprised by how wonderful everything was considering some of the reviews I read prior to arriving. Mario took excellent care of me and the Spa services were phenomenal. Best massage and facial experience I’ve ever had!! Yes the kitchen does close around 7:30 or so, but there are some wonderful restaurants that deliver to the hotel, just ask the front desk and they will help you out. Breakfast was delicious and so much more than just some fruit and coffee. There’s also grilled zucchini, peppers, onions and mushrooms, along with eggs, sausage and rice with beans. The rooms are nicely renovated and tastefully decorated. They are operating on a reduced staff so the gardens aren’t very tended too and some of the swimming areas aren’t as clean but considering there are a good 5 pools that’s to be expected in the COVID era. Wonderful experience all around!! I will definitely be back, I can only imagine how wonderful things will be once they are operating at 100% again.

We had a great one-night stay at the hotel that included the attendance of an event - the service, management, and room was perfect.

On the front-end of the business Edgar the Revenue Manager did an excellent job of coordinating the room with early arrival and from there we had a fantastic experience,

Stayed here twice now. Definitely the only place in the city area we will stay.. Beautiful place, great pool, excellent breakfast, nice little casino, super friendly staff!!

Very pleased with recent family stay. The breakfast was delicious and lots of variety. The room was clean and they provided a roll out bed. The pool was chilly water due to overcast weather and not being heated. Customer service was great. They even helped print some reservations for a tour.
