Beautiful little cabins with an amazing view. You wake up to the sound of birds and wildlife. Nice location, 3-5 mins drive away from supermarkets, restaurants and the Nuevo Arenal park. Highly recommended

First time in Costa Rica. Stayed February 2023. Our first stop was Lake Gardens for 3 nights. Very affordable place. Loved the individual bungalows, garden setting with lots of birds and wildlife, safe, quiet, friendly owners and guests, and a pool to cool off. Lake Gardens is off the road but within walking distance to a park and the town. It really was the perfect place to stay for us. I highly recommend. Let's put it this way, when we went to our next hotel (which was an adults only 5 star and twice as much) we contacted Lake Gardens to go back. We were willing to pay to stay there even though we had other accommodations. Sadly, there were no rooms available. If we return to Costa Rica and the Arenal area, I would stay at Lake Gardens again!

Beautifully tucked into the jungle. Walkable to town. Amazing views and plenty of peace and quiet! Came for a week 4 weeks ago... Still here!

Would definitely stay here again!! Marcela was so kind and helpful during our stay. She gave us tons of recommendations for local restaurants and activities so we could make the most of our time. The property is beautiful and has a breathtaking view of the lake. Lake gardens is also in a great location. Very close to shops and restaurants so you’ll have everything you’ll need. Marcela exceeded our expectations, thanks!

The host Marcela is wonderful! She was always quick to respond and gave us advise for where to go. The option to get breakfast delivered to your room (and other meals) is great! Loved the location also, beautiful garden setting, very relaxing- and convenient location for day trips to La Fortuna, Volcán Arenal, waterfalls in Tilaran, or Volcán Tenorio. Private cabins, comfortable and very clean. No AC, but ceiling fans and cool mountain air were more than enough to keep us cool (visited in December). Highly recommend it!

Wonderful place with a generous host family, great views, lots of birds, close to town. The cottages are beautiful and comfortable. We stayed here for a week loved it.

Very nice cabins in a private setting, away from the crowds of La Fortuna. Beautiful garden and nice sunsets to watch. The fairly new cabins are very well equipped and have good beds and nice kitchen area. Marcela is very attentive and responds very quickly by (Hidden by Airbnb) if there is any problem or if you need any advise. You can watch lots of birds and Howler Monkeys around the cabins every day. Great place to stay!
Less than 15 Minutes walking distance to the little and quite interesting town of Nuevo Arenal with good restaurants and shops. We stayed here for a month without a car and used the bus or Uber to go to La Fortuna or the other attractions. It's not easy, but possible if you have a bit of extra time. Bus ride is good, approx 3000 CR per person, for private Uber ride we payed 20000 CR. Check the bus schedule at the Bus terminal in the town.
You can do great tours just around Nuevo Arenal with much less people and much better, personal service. Would recommend to use "Crazy Allan Tours". (we did a fantastic night tour with him)
The Restaurant Moya's Place offers very good food, beer and they have live music every Friday.
Wifi is also good.

Five little houses on top of a hill with a gorgeous view over lake Arenal. We had two of them with 5 people.

The houses were super clean and luxery for Costa Rica standard. Kitchen with all you need including a fridge, kettle, coffee machine and a small grill. The beds were comfy and there is room for storage. One little approvement would be shampoo and soap dispenser to avoid garbage. The garden was designed with love for details and we saw lots of birds. The pool is small but lovely and clean. There was a little roofed open area with books and games. Breakfast was delicious if you eat bread. But the large amount of fresh fruit and delicious french pressed coffee was enough for the gluten free people 😊

The owner Marcela was super friendly and warm hearted. She did everything possible to make our stay wonderful. Thank you Marcela especially for receiving our lost suitcase at midnight! That was more than ever expected.

This is such an amazing place to stay while in the area. The groundskeeper and staff were so nice during our stay. Our rooms were clean and comfortable and the view is superb. The French breakfast every morning is delicious. Highly recommend this.

Brilliant stay. Loved every second. Fantastic host, nice breakfast and the bird life (especially the variety) was incredible. Local town was also a decent size and had loads of sodas. Also only 40 min drive to La Fontana. Stay here!!

This hotel consists of about 5 small yellow houses overlooking a beautiful lake. There are hummingbird feeders at every house so we saw a lot of them, as well as other birds like turkeys, toucans, etc. As there was another bird feeder nearby. Great stop if you love bird watching.
Amenities included a kitchen with a gas stovetop, a toaster oven, a kettle, and a mini fridge. It had a shower in the bathroom and packets of shampoo and soap were provided. There were two beds in our house, one in the main room and one in it's own bedroom, which had a closet with an iron, ironing board, and hangers. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. We were served a basket of warm pastries and a bowl of fruit along with coffee, milk, tea bags, and jam every morning.

There was also a small pool that was cleaned every morning and a little open air shelter with board games, a music speaker, and some book, although we didnt use these.

The owner and workers there were very friendly and helpful. Upon arrival we were given a booklet with some tours they offered from the hotel such as hiking, ziplining, white water rafting, etc that cost upwards of $100 per person.
The hotel's a short drive from a small touristy town that has a gas station, restaurants, and shops. Lake Gardens was a nice, scenic place to stay during our visit.

Some advice: The breakfast is fruit and pastry, so if you have a large appetite, I suggest buying some groceries for yourself from the supermarket nearby. If you are afraid of large dogs, you may not want to visit because there is a a big (but domestic and friendly!) dog that wanders around the area. The hotel is at least a 1 hour drive to attractions. I suggest staying here for a few nights at most and then moving on to another place if you'd like to see more of the country. When we stayed during the dry season, it rained heavily at night but was generally clear during the day.

Overall, I had a nice stay at this hotel.

Loved! Warm greetings to our hostess Marcela, who went far and beyond to make our stay memorable. The location is great for exploring Lake Arenal and New Arenal, but somewhat far for La Fortuna and the park. Plenty of wildlife to see, right from the balcony of your condo...

Un super endroit, calme, joli et avec des hôtes charmants. Un service de restauration est de plus proposé du petit déjeuner au dîner et apporté directement sur la terrasse des villas, mieux que l'hôtel !
On prend le petit déjeuner avec les oiseaux, c'est magnifique.

Una delicia despertar con el sonido de pájaros, en la madrugada se escuchan monos aulladores, el clima es muy fresco y la vista espectacular hacia el lago Arenal por una parte y la montaña detrás de las cabañas.
