Arenal Sanctuary Reserve

Wonderful! Kenneth is an amazing guide. We saw 2 types of snakes, frogs, other insects. Was such a great experience and fairly priced compared to others. Go on a rainy night if you can.

We did a night tour. So many frogs and different active animals at night. This was a personal tour, so we were able to ask all the questions we wanted and get detailed answers.
The place was easy to find with Google maps, but off the beaten path (down a little dirt road) from the main La Fortuna downtown area.
Sloths are fun to see at night, they move more. If you are a fan of frogs, you will find every species of them at night. It is am entirely different world in Costa Rica jungle at night.
We were provided flashlights and our guide, Carlos, was well versed in the animals and excited to show us all of them.
Cash only, so bring that.

After our tour, we had fresh pineapple waiting for a snack.

This is a fantastic place! Jairo is a great guide. We saw several sloths, frogs, and various other flora and fauna. Please visit this, it is one of the rare nature conservation zones in town and will get cut down without sufficient customers.

We signed up for a night tour with Jairo and thoroughly enjoyed our evening! We started out the night by observing a falcon, sloth, and iguana using his telescope (and taking some awesome pictures). We then entered the jungle area, where Jairo had built areas specifically for animal breeding. Within minutes, we observed a toad, several varieties of frogs, and a snake (surprise!) Walking through the forest, we also spotted a sleeping toucan, several bats, and another small bird.

Jairo was professional and extremely knowledgeable, answering all of our questions and supplementing the tour with information from his phone's app. The tour ended with fresh pineapple and cold water. I would highly recommend this tour for animal-lovers of all ages -- you won't regret it!

We did a night walk tour and saw many different kinds of frogs. And the highlight? Two sleeping toucans! The guide was very knowledgeable and he also designed/planted parts of the forest to establish biodiversity. I very much enjoyed our chats on conservation, and I would highly recommend this tour if you are in La Fortuna!

Amazing experience! The reserve is on a walking distance from the center of La Fortuna, you can get there easy and then prepare to be inmersed in the beatiful nature. The night walk is fantastic, Jairo knows exactly where to find the most exotic species, from red eyed tree frogs, multiple fungi species, sleeping birds on the trees and even some mamals if you´re lucky enough. A must to in your plans when you visit La Fortuna.

Highly recommended. This is a must! I booked a night guided tour and the experience was just amazing. We saw lots of different frogs, toucans, iguanas, etc. The tour was done with lots of passion and knowledge of course. They even brought me back to the hotel!! Keep up the good work guys. Nuestro guía Geralt ha sido fantástico, y además tuvo el detalle de llevarnos a ver tucanes después.
Recomendable 100% a todo aquel que quiera disfrutar y colaborar con el ecoturismo de este maravilloso país.

Es una zona al lado del pueblo, en un bosque que Jairo ha moldeado cuidadosamente para que los animales se establezcan allí. Hicimos el tour nocturno y pudimos ver varias ranas, insectos y un perezoso. Los guias son muy amables, aman lo que hacen y saben muchisimo. Da gusto dar tu dinero a un proyecto pequeño pero que se esta construyendo con mucha ilusión.

Eine unterhaltsame und interessante Tour. Sie können verschiedene Arten von Fröschen, Vögeln und Pilzen sehen, die Nachtwanderung sorgt für Adrenalin, wenn Sie im Dunkeln durch den Wald spazieren. 100% empfehlenswert.
