Incredible hike through the jungle and up the volcanic lava flow with boulders. Stunning close up view of the volcano and also of the lake down below. Easy walk except for the short walk through the Boulder field near the top. Lots of birds in the jungle. We loved this hike! I would highly recommend it!

Went on a guided tour of the grounds. Cool forest. Sad that you can't go up higher, but it's still beautiful.

The waterfall though is amazing! It has a nice eating area just above the falls.

After the gate there is a large parking lot. We walked the overlook trail to the lava fields. The trail was mostly flat but there was a stairs case to the viewing point, which itself was very rocky. The wildlife was beautiful. 10/10

Beautiful and wild. Lots of walking and climbing. Some stone and lava trails can be a challenge, wear proper shoes, not open toe sandals.

We loved this hike! We did the longest trail to have the best experience. Highly recommend to bring hiking shoes and bring water/snacks. The view is incredible and we would do it again! We had lunch at the cafeteria after our hike and the food was delicious.

Incredible national Park. There's a 6km walk (very flat/easy) until the very end there's some steps but Definitely overall an easy trail. At the end of the trail, there's an additional trail that loops back into the main trail which I highly recommended if you are birding. We saw Montezuma oropendola, great currasow, laughing falcon, rufous tail hummingbird, keel billed toucan, chestnut oropendola, brown jays, white front parrot, yellow throated toucan, great headed chachalaca, white throated magpie, and more!

This is by far my favourite place in La Fortuna. The park trails will bring you through pine forests, plains, cattle farms, rainforests, waterfalls, hanging bridges and many more. The observatory, although a bit scary to climb, will give you a breathtaking view of the Arenal lake and volcano and Cerro Chato. All of that in about 2-4 hours depending on which trails you want to do.

You also have the option of doing the River Trails, which is the hardest one I have done in the area. Very steep, muddy and uneven terrain, with nothing really special at the end except for two river beds and the sense of pride and accomplishment you’ll get by finishing it.

This is a must if you are in the La Fortuna region!

Beautiful park with great trails. Definitely recommend trail #5 as it felt more tropical than the busy #4. Be prepared for mud on that trail.

Very cool place to do a self guided tour! Lots of signs with good info and a relatively easy hike. Got a little muddy in the rain but still not too hard.

The hikes are super good. It was a beautiful day when we hiked. Got to see the volcano smoking! In all its glory.

Very cool place and fair price for entrance, it’s a 1,5 hr hike and it’s fascinating to see diverse plantation in a small-ish area! The trail well maintained as well.

For $16 you get entrance to both the Arenal section and peninsula section. Visit them both, otherwise it’s too expensive. Peninsula section is a 1.5h walk, Arenal section with forest trail is 3h walk. Good facilities for toilets and water

A “MUST VISIT” !!! Her amazing natural beauty is seen throughout our visit. My photos do not begin to capture the raw beauty available to the human eye. Seeing the waterfalls first from a far distance to eventually up close is a incredible memory. Remember when you take the 500 steps down that you must take the steps back up. Fortunately for me many levels of Resting areas. Also refreshments available along with multiple gift centers. A sign Warning yo use the bathroom services before you begin your journey down is a wise thought. Overall breathtaking experience!!

Small park but there was no one else there so it was quiet and beautiful. The trail is pretty simple if you’re going to the lake. Great views of the volcano from anywhere near by.

Highly recommend! The hike on the path to the Ceiba tree was strenuous largely due to it being extremely muddy, but we saw tons of wildlife along the way, including sloths, lizards of various types, toucans, many other birds and animals. Honestly, we saw more wildlife here than in the reserves we visited! The tree itself is truly majestic. The overview of the lava flows is breathtaking, and we caught it in the few minutes when the peak was out of the clouds the whole time we were there.

Beautiful mountain views and a spectacular view of the volcano. It was an unforgettable experience to walk through the trails and witness the natural habitat of vegetation and exotic animals.

It was amazing we walked down 500 steps and back up 500 steps but inbetween we were in the bottom of the falls in the water. The beauty there is good all by itself even if you don't do the walk down. It's an experience I highly recommend
