We loved this visit. It’s so unbelievably beautiful. It is very safe and has a secure parking lot that you must pass a park attendant at a stand to get into. There is a small outdoor market stall with art and treasures, no food. We visited during the weekday, and there was barely anyone there. It is all stairs to get down to the bottom, very manageable. The hike to the top of the waterfall is definitely more uneven, but just watch your step and it’s doable. The water here glitters with all the mica in it. We ended up lounging in the shade and reading, while monkeys relaxed overhead. Maybe my favorite spot on my trip.

Beautiful spot! Not too crowded on a weekday afternoon, water was so refreshing. Paid 4000 colones ($8) entry. Short gravel road to get to a rocky parking lot, any car can do it going slowly
Easy walk down to the waterfall

Beautiful spot

Amazing waterfall, very tall , ot has bunch of small and tall falls and there is a big pool of water under the falls so you can swim.
Very short hike from the parking lot (~4min)

A nice waterfall just outside of Liberia. It was dirty from the massive downpour the day before but our kids still enjoyed it.

There were mini falls all around too. It was all just a bit muddy from the crazy rainstorm.

There was staff on hand making sure people were safe.

There is an entrance fee to help maintain the area.

We had the most amazing time. Our guides Amari, Jordan and Arturo were the best. They shared so much information about the area and ensured we were safe and had the best views. They also took really good pictures for us.

Stunning waterfall! There are unofficial guides that will offer to take you up to see the waterfall from behind and other vantage points. We were pleasantly surprised by the experience and knowledge provided on that walk and he even took quite a few photos and videos for us. There is no fee although cash tips are highly appreciated. There is a fee to enter that can be paid via cash or credit card.

Really cool chance to swim in a waterfall. The entry fee was $7 per person and you could drive straight to the stairs to take you down to the waterfall. The stairs are steep and uneven in places, but not treacherous or anything.

Awesome waterfall! Fun place to swim and hang out. We were driving past so it was an easy stop but it’s worth going out of your way too!

The park ranger here needs to do his job. Americans come smoke and everyone leaves trash down at the waterfall and he does absolutely nothing.

Isn’t his job to protect the natural resources? It’s an embarrassment to see him sitting around all day while ppl are throwing trash and smoking on his face and HE DOES NOTHING.

Get a real park ranger that was a pair well-places.

Lovely place but I gathered a whole grocery bag full of Imperial cans.

DO BETTER!!!!

Saw a hand painted sign for waterfall and the road was sketchy but doable. Well worth it though. Beautiful falls and great little beach. Great place to spend a day in the water.

Short drive from Liberia on the Pan American highway. You can easily miss the turnoff from so watch those directions carefully. Local guides will meet you once you arrive and give you a tour. They work for tips and are well worth it! Third visit for our family and first during rainy season. Waterfall was massive during rainy season! And almost empty of people compared to dry season!

Really special place to visit if you can - expect to see lots of tourists but it doesn’t take away from the beauty of this area. Tennis shoes are fine if you know how to clean them. No drones permitted so don’t bother. Very humid even in the dry season so check the weather day of.
