Alma de Árbol Dota

Beautiful cozy place to have a nice dinner. Service and food were great. We had the "Alma de Árbol" burger, which was well made (except for the fries... they were a little greasy for me). Passion fruit juice was delicious.

Tasty food, good options to choose from. We ate the trout in different forms and everything was so fresh and delicious!

Many fruits are home grown, the service is good and friendly. 🤗 We felt very welcome here.
You can sit inside or outside and enjoy the beautiful view of foggy mountains and the local river stream from your table.
Soft light, music is playing. You can choose between a bar, a couch or dining tables.
You can't miss the restaurant if you simply follow the mountain street downwards. Of course there are parking places. 🅿

Has the burger with the small wedge fries. Fresh ingredients, beautiful presentation, and great flavors. The potatoes were tender inside and crispy outside. Sit by the window and stare at the forest.

Lovely atmosphere and delicious food with unique and creative flavor combinations. The food is all sourced locally and the fresh taste reflects this. The owners are so welcoming and you will feel like you've been coming here a long time. There is a lot of care and detail reflected in everything from the beautiful dinnerware to the plating. Skip dinner at the hotel and have a wonderful and intimate meal here instead - you won't regret it!!

How have I not reviewed Alma de Arbol Dota? Amazing place. My wife and I were there in March of 2022. We were talking about our trip a few weeks ago and she called this one of her favorite meals ever while traveling. That is high praise. Well worth the stop. I would happily come here again.

Se visited Alma de Árbol last week and it was a pleasant experience. The restaurant has lively ambiance and stunning views, we could see a quetzal and other birds just sitting at our table (as there is this tree “aguacatillo” that quetzales feed on right in front of the restaurant).

The food wasn’t a disappointment either, we had a tomato soup, highly recommended, vegetarian pizza (their own fusion, quite interesting, but small), followed by a slice of mixed-berry cheesecake, it was de-li-cious!

Such a cute spot with amazing dishes. The flavors and presentation were top notch. The chef obviously has great culinary skills and an artistic eye. Had the trout, coffee and sangria. All were delicious and reasonably priced.

This restaurant is a gem in the middle of San Gerardo de Dota. Is delicious, a great combination of flavors in every dish. Fair prices for what you get. Great service. Good wines. Small and cozy. If you come to San Gerardo de Dota, a meal here is mandatory.

We came here as a family on a few occasions and every time it was amazing. The food is great, the coffee is delicious and the service is wonderful. The pizza was small but it was very filling, the tomato soup in bread bowl was fantastic and the burger was huge!

A little bit spendy compared to other more rustic local places, but with excellent food options and very good coffee. Full of quetzal hunters - a good place to share the latest local tips too.

Nice recipe and dining place, have a good severice and food taste, with a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere you are surrounding.There is a small garden outside , you can watch humming birds flying around you while eating cusine in the simple interrdesign style inside.

Great food and service at reasonable prices. Chicken salad, Ditso bowl with trout, fusion trout and sangria all delicious. It was cold out but they put the heaters on for us over the couch.

This place was so good we ate here twice. The coffee is amazing, the pasta is the best we've had in a long time, and the cocktails are delicious. The view is wonderful, it has the cutest patio to see the forest and river and watch the birds. Can't recommend enough.

Amazing place. Super service and incredible food. Guacamole is fantastic. So is vege burger, tomato soup and pasta. We came for lunch and came back for dinner:)

We had the pizza de arbol, pasta bolognese, and the endalada batu. All three were delicious. The service was great, atmosphere is cozy, and the price is about what you'd expect for the area.

I'm giving a fifth star because honestly the food here so far (we're coming back) has been next level compared to the other restaurants in the area. They are not bad, but this has clearly become my top choice.

This was with no doubt the best restaurant we have eaten in at Costa Rica.
All of the food is unique and made with love, absolutely delicious!
The personal care was as well something we haven't seen yet in any other place.

Very delicious food! Even sandwiches, look simple but so full of flavor! Wow! My partner got a plate of trout that looked so nicely visually served, along with bombastic taste! Their crocante desert is to die for!!
