We only ate at the restaurant here, the Blue Hibiscus and enjoyed both our breakfasts and a little lunch. The breakfast buffet had plenty of choices and we loved the fresh fruit, especially the papaya. And for lunch the tuna nachos with won to chips and edamame were an inventive and tasty take on a standard.

We enjoyed complimentary breakfast here from our neighboring hotel and it was very good and the staff was very friendly. The setting was very cute in the trees and open air. We had a cute little bird and hummingbirds fluttering around making the moment very serene

We didn’t stay here but rather at their sister hotel up the road. We ate here several times though and used their pool and bar. Can’t say enough nice things about the people who work there. Eduardo and Francisco stood out as kind, thoughtful people who made sure we were taken care of. We will definitely be back some day.

Amazing resort! Highly recommend for family vacation. Staff was friendly and helpful. Lots of fun animals and birds to see right from the hotel. Pool is lovely for relaxing in after a long day of adventuring.

Costa Rica has my heart & this hotel was one of the main reasons i loved our trip so much. The hotel staff are all so genuine & kind hearted individuals. My boyfriend & I were very well taken care of. We stayed in the suite deluxe & the room was majestic to say the least. The view was incredible & the sounds of nature were soothing. It’s tucked away further than most hotels around La Fortuna Area but that’s the beauty of it. Breakfast was delicious every morning, & the drinks at the bar were amazing (definitely try the cacique drinks). Also- Our house keeper did an excellent job every day making sure our room was re stocked. The room came with a gorgeous outdoor volcanic shower that i loved. Overall, i would definitely recommend this hotel to any couple wanting a romantic getaway & i can’t wait to return myself.

Great value for real luxury amidst the natural setting of the rainforest. Very friendly staff! While there are lots of hills on the property, there are great walking trails and the staff offers complimentary golf cart rides when needed. Our room had a view of the volcano, an outdoor jacuzzi tub, and the most magical outdoor shower!

Lost Iguana, though located 30 minutes from La Fortuna, is a hidden paradise nestled in nature. The distance is a small trade-off for the serene surroundings and stunning views. The lush environment and wildlife add to the allure, creating a tranquil retreat. For those seeking a peaceful escape, Lost Iguana offers a serene getaway slightly off the beaten path, making it a unique and memorable lodging choice.

This place is absolutely incredible! A real treat! My boyfriend and I booked the luxury suite. The room has a balcony with a jacuzzi on it. The most beautiful view of Arenal Volcano with a lush landscape in front of it. The sound of the jungle was like a sound machine it was so perfect. Light rain, baby lightening, birds and frog sounds sang us to sleep. The pool is stunning as well. The entire hotel was so beautiful. Staff was so kind. The dinner and breakfast were decent. The bed was very firm. Our tv in room 10 didn’t end up working (remote wouldn’t respond besides on and select). But all in all it was still the best experience. The hotel also has their own well water so you can drink the tap. We highly recommend it and would stay again. It was one of our favorite experiences ever! And it’s near hot springs and many activities as well. Definitely go for the luxury suite 😍

Lovely individual bungalos, extraordinary service, excellent breakfast, wonderful property and we saw two kinds of toucan besides other birds and critters, and path running through woods to the river, peaceful and quiet.

We had a 4 night break in Nov 2023. Location is excellent - in the rainforest but with clear views of the volcano, particularly from the upper floor rooms i.e. the Luxury Suites (which we went for, for that reason). Plenty of wildlife to see from your balcony including monkeys, toucans, aracari, hummingbirds and numerous other birds. Restaurant is a nice space, food is pretty good and the staff are very friendly and well organised. You can book excursions through the front desk; these are cheaper if you have your own transport. Otherwise they are the same price as booking direct.
Rooms are large and mosquito free with good balconies (including bath / jacuzzi on the balcony). They could be improved with some indoor seating, which they seem to lack. They are a little dated but characterful nevertheless.
The Mystico hanging bridges (just up the hill about 1km) are preferable to visit with a guide, as it gets busy and the wildlife goes elsewhere at these times. Even better go first thing in the morning when it's quiet and there is more wildlife around. Very hard to see wildlife from the bridges themselves as they are wobbly and overcrowded at busy times.
Overall I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Lost Iguana - I'd go back.

We didn’t stay at the resort, but there’s a lovely cafe on the way to Mistico Hanging Bridges. The service, coffee and the view (covered patio) was absolutely lovely!

We stayed here in 2019 - 5 years ago - and my husband and I still talk about Luis and the amazing service in the bar. Thank you for making this stay memorable!

This resort is surrounded by beautiful thick rainforest. When you open your balcony doors, there are a couple of chairs, and a very private balcony to look at the volcano, the beautiful jungle, and just listen to the incredible sounds of the jungle.

There are trails throughout, there is an awesome spa, and the customer service is absolutely top-notch.

This is my first time in Costa Rica, and a female traveling alone. This resort not only made me feel safe but they made everything so easy.

The only downsides I would say is their air conditioner is pretty mild. If it hasn't been going for 8 hours, the room is very uncomfortably hot.

Nobody had been in my room for several days, so when I walked in it was probably 85°. It was an uncomfortable night of sleep.

The walls are incredibly thin as well. My neighbor was having a heated discussion, and it sounded like they were in my room. The other room had a baby and small children, and could hear everything they were doing and saying as well.

Super friendly staff, beautiful clean rooms, comfy beds and stunning views of Arenal. We loved the hike around property, the feeling of being tucked into the jungle, and delicious meals at the restaurant. If you’re looking for a relaxed escape away from town this is the perfect choice. If you want to be able to walk to shops and restaurants you’ll want to look for accommodations in La Fortuna.

My wife and I came here on our honeymoon and it was everything we could’ve wanted. Wonderful staff! Amazing amenities! Food was absolutely excellent! And we enjoyed that it was not a feeling of an “American” type resort kinda like where we stayed in the 2nd half of our trip. Really felt like we got a feeling of the heart of Costa Rica staying here!

We stayed at the Lost Iguana Resort in August. It was absolutely amazing! The views.... I can't even explain how beautiful it was. The staff was great, the rooms were clean, and the food was good! I suggest renting a car so you can drive to La Fortuna.

Loved our stay here, beautiful hotel, gorgeous views of the volcano (the reason we booked), amazing flora and fauna surrounding the hotel. They also offer free breakfast and Wi-Fi, which is a massive plus, they also offer spa services, a trail and a wild frog sanctuary. The breakfast options are great, with American and Latin options; I must say the freshly squeezed orange juice made my mornings, and staff take extra care to make sure you are comfortable and have everything you need.

The spa experience was AMAZING, the reception cabin is beautiful and peaceful and surrounded by jungle. The changing rooms were semi private, and have a very interesting design. After we changed into robes we were escorted to another cabin with two beds for the couples massage, no AC, just breeze, it was heavenly. My masseuse was very good and was consistent with the perfect pressure.

Lastly we walked the trail on property, looking for sloths, but we were unsuccessful in that area. It was very good exercise, about an hour walk and the hotel provided a map. It was uphill half the time, so if you are not used to hiking or hills, be prepared.

Had a fantastic stay here. We had a villa for our family of five. Truly loved this spot. The staff were amazing. We ended up having a couple dinners at the restaurant and the food was great. Hope to come back one day and highly recommend!

Absolutely stunning resort in the middle of a beautiful rainforest. A bit of a trek to get here, but absolutely worth it for the serenity and peace that you get being about 30 minutes from town.

Incredibly friendly staff. Delicious food. Gorgeous walks through nature. The view from our room had a stunning of the volcano.
